Essex Police have made one arrest following road disruption by protesters on the M25 throughout today (Wednesday, July 20).
Road users have been left stranded in miles of congestion after members of the Just Stop Oil campaign demonstrated on the gantry above the road near to the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge that links Essex and Kent. It resulted in the M25 having to be closed between Junctions 30 and 31 shortly after 11am.
Serious delays have been felt all the way back into Essex, stretching as far back as Junction 28 (Brentwood).
And why only one arrest, then? What do you have to say for yourselves?
Chief Inspector Anna Granger said: “I want to thank the public for their patience and understanding while we dealt with this incident. We are well prepared for incidents of disruption on our roads and to keep Essex moving, and we enacted these quickly. This was a challenging incident to resolve due to its nature but we resolved it as quickly and safely as possible.”

Well, you have to take into account that the AI software used to run senior police officers is fairly limited, hence they can really only repeat various combinations of a few limited phrases.
I'm pretty sure it will turn out that lessons have been learned, this was a very rare incident and extra patrols have been sent out to reassure the community.
Meanwhile, just remember if it wasn't for da Tori Cutz, there'd would have been a whole lot more officers to sit around doing absolutely nothing.
Just stop oil? Why don't they just lead the way and stop buying anything that was made or transported using oil? Surely once they have demonstrated how easily it can be done the rest of us will have no excuse. We might have to start hunting whales again and making things out of turtle shells instead of plastic but there you go.
Being a nasty bloke, I naturally think that the law should allow one to simply drive over protesters. Any damage to your car would come out of their estate.
Much as the suggestion that 'requiring' all electric vehicles to 'only' be charged using electricity generated from solar and wind is 'valid'. (What? You pretend not to like oil/gas/coal so maybe actually not using its products instead of virtue signalling is a good thing, right?).
My proposal is that anyone/everyone campaigning against oil/etc. who thus commits a crime/inconveniences everyone else, is sentenced to a period (commensurate with the offence) in which they are banned from access to any/all products/services provided by oil/gas/coal.
I look forward to witnessing the diehard activists living in grass huts, in the middle of a field, wearing ... probably not very much, and eating ... probably each other.

It's astonishing how the statements to the press all seeem the same, despite the actual crime under discussion.
