Maybe Because They Keep Paying Him To Do So?

This week, a new Russell Crowe movie is released. The film concerns a demon that comes to inhabit a person, and the struggles of a priest to cast the demon out. You might have seen its poster, in which Russell Crowe wears a dog collar and clutches a crucifix. If that sounds familiar, it might be because it has only been a matter of months since the last time that Russell Crowe starred in a film about a demon that comes to inhabit a person, and the struggles of a priest to cast the demon out, that had a poster in which Russell Crowe wears a dog collar and clutches a crucifix.

I thought it sounded familiar, but just assumed it was deja vu.

If you think it’s slightly inexplicable, to the point of outright derangement, for Russell Crowe to make two films about the same thing, with more or less the same title, where he pretty much wears the same costume, and the poster for each of them uses the same font, then you might have a point.

I'm not sure what point, really, other than 'he's a paid actor who takes the jobs he's offered'...

It's Deja Vu Again...Again!

A councillor has spoken of the harrowing moment her fingernails were ripped off in a dog attack...

Fingernails? Off, it's it usually leg or arm injuries?

...as she posted a flyer, leaving her needing emergency surgery.

Ah.

Cllr Carnac says she usually uses a posting peg when leafleting - a plastic gadget used to push post through a letterbox while avoiding any contact with unruly dogs.
She hopes her experience will serve as a “timely reminder” for dog owners to be responsible, and anyone who delivers door-to-door to be careful.

That's the thing about reminders - you have to remember them!

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police has received a report that a woman was bitten by a dog at a property in Chestnut Drive, Sturry at around 11am on Saturday 5 November 2022.
"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."

I doubt they are rushing...

Another Avoidable Death In The Jaws Of A Known Dangerous Dog...

A woman and a teenager have pleaded guilty to being in charge of a 115lb dog called 'Beast' that mauled a schoolboy to death.

Yes, finally, they can be named. Although everyone locally knew them and their hellbeast, because - of course! - it was well-known as a dangerous animal locally:

At Cardiff Crown Court today Salter, of Trethomas, Caerphilly, admitted being a person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control, causing injury resulting in Jack's death.
Hayden, of Penyrheol, Caerphilly, pleaded guilty to being the owner of the dog that killed Jack.
The teenager also admitted five offences of owning a dog dangerously out of control between November 4 and 7.
The court heard two of those incidents resulted in injuries to two members of the public, Michael Ball and Sian Sullivan.

And if they'd reported it, maybe, just maybe, action would have been taken and the child would still have been alive right now.

Judge Fitton QC set a date for sentencing on June 10. He granted both bail but said: 'The likely outcome, particularly for Mr Hayden, is there will be an immediate custody.'

Only 'likely'..?

Hayden was also told he must not upload any photos of himself with dogs online.
Salter was told not to have any contact with children under the age of 18 unless granted by social services.

Too little, too late. And why no condemnation for the parents who were seemingly unconcerned at their child visiting a house with one of these things in it?
