Met Police officers will be banned from supporting 'woke' causes while on duty, Britain's most senior policeman has warned.

Sir Mark Rowley says officers won't be allowed to take the knee, fly rainbow flags or wear badges that support environmental causes, The Telegraph reported.

However, the police commissioner said it is 'perfectly proper' for officers to wear remembrance poppies, Help for Heroes wristbands and the police memorial badge.

What took so long? Did Suella tell him his fortune, at last?

His view on the issue differs significantly from that of his predecessor, Dame Cressida Dick, who had said it was at each individual officer's discretion if they wanted to take a knee in support of Black Lives Matter.

We'll see if this claim actually means anything. I'm not hopeful. It's going to be a bigger clean up job than this one. 

Maybe They Aren't 'Losing Out' At All?

Maybe they are smart enough to know a bad decision when they see one?

Tens of thousands of homes are missing out on government heat pump subsidies worth up to £6,000, as critics slam the scheme as a 'cash bung' for the rich.

Now, why would people turn down 'free' money from the government? It's a puzzle, isn't it, Reader? Unless, maybe, they read the newpapers...

The Government has set aside £150million to subsidise 30,000 homes and small businesses a year fitting heat pumps or biomass boilers. But the Government scheme is being underused, with just 8,584 heat pumps and 106 biomass boilers fitted between May 2022 and March 2023 - not even a third of its target.

Yup, we know.  

Meanwhile, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme has been slammed for giving the rich a tax break and discount for fitting heat pumps while poorer households lose out.

Cheshire Police were called on Monday, April 18, following reports a woman was "sexually assaulted by three men" in a lay-by in in Hassall, near Sandbach.

At the time police said they were giving the victim support following the "horrendous attack" and were "determined to bring the offenders to justice for their heinous actions".

Whoops!

A 33-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent who was arrested on Tuesday has now been released without charge, and a 34-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of wasting police time and perverting the course of justice in connection with the incident, CheshireLive reports.

Well, at least they are bringing someone to justice... 

Chief Inspector Claire Jesson said: "Following this report, officers conducted a detailed investigation and appealed to the public for help and information. I can now reassure the residents of Hassall, and the wider public, that we are satisfied this offence did not occur and I would like to thank them for their support."

So...have you learned anything? 

"However, I do not want this to deter people from reporting such crimes to us for fear that they will not be believed - nothing could be further from the truth. We work really hard to encourage people who have been a victim of sexual abuse - no matter how long ago - to report it.

"You will be listened to, you will receive the help and support you need and we will do all that we can to achieve justice where offences have taken place. We have dedicated teams of specialist officers and work with a number of fantastic organisations who offer help and support in dealing with the trauma of these offences and to help people to feel safe again."

Defending, Ms Keely Harvey argued there was an element of exploitation.

There was coercion with "threats made against Onyeasi and his family" after the youngster had run up drug debts.

She added that the assault was "more reckless than anything" and that he does show remorse.

Nope! Not buying it. 

However, Judge Peter Henry said he was motivated by financial or other advantages.

He said: "I have come to the conclusion an immediate custodial sentence is inevitable."

Branding him a "County Lines" drug dealer Judge Henry sentenced him to 26 months in a young offenders institution.

Finally, a judge not swayed by the usual lies... 

"Police officers have to endure certain types of behaviour that are inappropriate."

Paul Blanchard, for Whitaker, said she struggled with drink and drugs.

“I have no doubt that her intentions at the time were nothing more than friendly. 

... 

“This young lady is not a sex offender and going on the register would be catastrophic.”

No need to work so hard, chum. Leniency's practically guaranteed, right?

Whitaker was jailed for 16 weeks and ordered to pay £1,330 in fines.

The court heard she had a previous record of failing to carry out community orders.

Chairwoman of the bench Ms Julie Houston said: “This offence is so serious a custodial sentence is necessary.”

Ha ha ha ha ha!

Whitaker will also have to register as a sex offender for the next seven years.

Good to see a judge not following the progressive script.
