Yes, Punching Your Co-Workers Is ‘Simply Bravado’…

…I must remember that one for my upcoming employment tribunal:
Joe Boyd, defending Khan, said :" Losing his job causes these flashpoints."
Mr Boyd described the defendant's behaviour as "hot headedness" and " simply bravado."
He added Khan had suffered psychological problems because of an accident in Pakistan.
Now you’re just over-egging the pudding, Joe! Stick to the one excuse.

/Golfclap For Essex Police Again...

After searching every flat in a tower block, police have concluded £100,000 worth of stolen firearms have been sold off as air rifles.
Two things here - I know this is Essex, but surely no-one can honestly claim they didn't know the difference, and..every flat?

How on earth do they have grounds for this?

TDONA*

A taxi driver has been fined after refusing a guide dog to travel with her registered blind owner in Newport.
The driver of the saloon taxi refused to allow the black labrador into his taxi citing that he was allergic to them, she said. When Ms James questioned whether he had a medical certificate and said that she wanted to make a complaint, she said the driver supplied the wrong name and driver ID.
Henceforth, throughout the entire article, he’s referred to as ‘the driver’. No mention of his name.

I’m betting – despite the Welsh setting - it wasn’t ‘Evans’, or ‘Jones’…
Newport council said the former Dragon's Taxi driver pleaded guilty at Newport Magistrates Court on March 28, 2014 and received a 12 month conditional discharge. The driver was ordered to pay £100 contribution towards Newport City Council’s costs and the £15 victim surcharge.
The actual victim gets nothing.
Michelle Bennett, supervisor at Dragon's Taxi's, said: "We are aware of that incident and the driver was suspended. He doesn't work here anymore."
No doubt he’s working at some other taxi firm…

*Taxi Driver Of No Appearance

Or, As We Call It In The Real World…

…’being a total dickhead‘:
The defendant, said to have been suffering ‘adult-type ADHD’ has 66 offences on his record, and first broke the law when he was 11.
Comments are interesting..

”You're not goin' to intimidate me - I'm entitled to my opinion!”

Well, tomorrow I report for jury service.

Hey, STOP LAUGHING AT THE BACK! I've been waiting for this moment for years.

So … there may be a drop off in blogging and/or responses to comments once the scheduled posts give out at the end of this week (here, and at ‘Orphans’) if I've got to cope with deciding the fate of my fellow man or woman (plus another Tube strike), or, if I spend all my time hanging around in the jury room and not getting picked, readers may not notice any difference.

The court apparently has wi-fi, so maybe I can do some blogging on the government’s dime for a change!

If I do get picked, I can only hope for as exciting and action-packed a trial as these jurors had…

Clothes Makest Man...

...or rather, what passes for 'man' these days:
Dent said he had taken a mixture of drugs and alcohol and explained that he lost his temper outside the takeaway as he saw someone in clothes better than those he was wearing.
*sigh*
Christopher Rose, mitigating, said: “He does seem to have a tendency to ‘blow up’ in public, involving him carrying dangerous weapons.”
Ummm, I think you need to work on your 'mitigation', there, mate!

And Nor Do Judges Who Hand Out Soft Sentences, Clearly…

Sentencing, Recorder Anthony Cross, QC, imposed a two-year community order, with 12 months’ supervision and a six month 7pm to 7am curfew.
He said: “You... were acting in a way which can only be described as revolting. People like you don’t bother about the feelings of other people.”
Still, I don’t suppose he ever takes a cab anywhere late at night, where the likes of Wilkinson are wont to roam…

Best CiF Post Title Ever!

Offered without comment, because...what could I say?

"English Not Your First Language,. You Say..?"

"...no, that's no problem at all, you can still work for us here at the 'Daily Mail'."

Yes, I've Got One, Actually...

...why are you apparently employing some American chap & exactly how many colours does he come in?
