Gross disrespect is now displayed openly by members of Brown's failed government:
One fellow guest said they saw the former minister apparently scrolling through his messages as the choir sang a penitential rite with the words ‘Lord, have mercy, Christ, have mercy’ during a Requiem Mass composed by Maurice Durufle.
Yes well it was "TCH" or Geoff "Buff" Hoon a previously strong contender for "Worst Defence Secretary of All Time" now beaten by Bob "truly useless" (Jobs)Ainsworth. It was another chance to rub their contempt for the forces in the bereaved families faces.
Apparently he is tipped to take over as the UK's European Commissioner. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1191133/Geoff-Hoon-sights-set-role-European-Commissioner-quitting-Cabinet.html
He'll have been checking for responses from recruitment agencies. This lot are unusual in that in the past, has-been politicians could bed down in to some non-exec directorships in PLCs, but their names are such liabilities that nobody will want them on the Report and Accounts.
Very few of them will be able to become media whores - that market is saturated - and they have few skills to sell anybody. That leaves them scrabbling for smaller gigs on charity bodies - but they don't usually pay that well so you have to get quite a few together if you haven't thought, like Margaret Moran, to set up your own fake charity first. Even if the MP has got a little shell charity going, it will be cut off from the government money if the change comes in, because it will no longer be automatically granted the contract to do pretend 'research'. (At least, I hope they won't.)
That means looking for ordinary jobs, but would you give this bunch a place on your marketing team, selling shoes on in high street stores, doing kitchen fitting? They are stupendously useless and are like the drones in a hive; once they have fulfilled their limited use, they are destined to be driven out and left to die in the cold.
If Hoon doesn't get a pay-off from the Emperor Tone in the form of a Euro-sinecure, he's done for. So let's hope he doesn't.
"I think they know the games up and unless they are in a very, very safe seat then they can just act like this without fear of consequences."
Let's hope so. And let's hope they are mistaken about the consequences...

Hmm, it's possible. But then, no doubt they've lots of favours to call in.
After all, Blunkett did quite nicely for himself, didn't he?
These buggers are going to get seats on corporate boards like no other bunch of ministers.
If you consider how many companies are in thrall to this government the sinecures will be there to be had. The list of companies is long: BT, EDS, Siemens, Accenture, PWC, KPMG, BAE, Serco etc. All the PFI players and not forgetting their backers. Can't remember the rest, I'm rather drunk.

No argument there.
