The angry parents of a young boy with learning difficulties claim the council is 'failing' their son - even though they haven't bothered turning up for meetings to discuss his education.Where is this? Oh, where else?
Ronnie, who lives in the three bedroom family home in Elmside, Fieldway, suffers from autism, ADHD and Tourette's Syndrome, according to his family.Or is simply your typical Croydon underclass little shit. Your mileage may vary.
This is not the only issue the family have with the council.Oh, God, it never is, is it?
At the moment, Ray and Maria are living in a three-bedroom house with their six children; Courtney-Jo, 5, Tilly-Marie, 8, Harry, 11, Ronnie, 12, Reggie-Lee, 14 and Stevie-Anne, 16.
As well as their children they also have Ray's little sister, 18-year-old Billie-Jean living with them, after her mother died.
Despite making the choice to have six children, the family claim they deserve a larger home funded by the taxpayer.Well, of course they do. It's their 'uman right, innit?
Anyone wondering why Harry and Ronnie are being short-changed on names? I am...

How many receptions? I'd be inclined to organize the house along 19th century lines:
Reception becomes master bedroom which folds up during the day to allow family watch tv etc. I'm guessing that there is a separate kitchen which may even be large enough for a table. If not, it will have to go in the reception.
This frees up three bedrooms which are then divided along gender lines.
Largest bedroom - 3 boys
smallest bedroom - two youngest girls
middle bedroom - two oldest girls.
Sorted.
Now, about the ADHD and autism; these are very serious conditions which may affect the other two boys if not attended to.
Is it perhaps time to consider whether Ronnie and all the family would benefit from him being transferred to a specialist school, maybe even a residential unit.
There are plenty of options in Croydon but you usually need a statement of educational need. There has been a delay with some of these, that's true, but any delay will be made far worse if you don't turn up to the meetings.
They are social workers, not psychics; they can't assess somebody who isn't there.
WOAR,
I can see your suggestion that little Ron should be transferred to an institution coming into effect when he reaches 18.
Probably Strangeways or the Scrubs.
Oh come on! You can't expect them to use the reception room as the master bedroom.
After all, they'd have to clear all the dog shit off the floor then.
Reggie, Ronnie.....sounds like the Krays have reincarnated Dahn Sarf.
Simple rule of thumb: if surname is hyphenated, upper middle class; if first name hyphenated, scumbag underclass.
claim they deserve a larger home funded by the taxpayer
By the taxpayer is the end of the argument.
" Dr Cromarty said..."
Dr Cromarty WINS!
This, from New Addington professional parasite Ray Howard:
"My boy is now a year behind in his education because they are unable to do their job."
No, it is because people like Ray Howard are stupid. Dumb. Thick as pigshit. Because we shovel money at these retards, they breed more and better retards.
Proof positive that two mongs don't make a right.
Well looking at the names they are clear winners in "Top Set - Bottom Set" (TM Frank Chalk). The "Harry" is the rogue entry and may throw the less experienced player but the rest are pure "Bottom Set"! I suppose the next one will be "T-Jay" but I'm putting an early bet on seeing "Aldi" or "Matalan" very soon :)
Courtney-Jo, Tilly-Marie, Reggie-Lee, Stevie-Anne, Billie-Jean? Is this Croydon, Alabama or Croydon, West Virginia we're talking about here?
" I'd be inclined to organize the house along 19th century lines..."
Why not? They seem to be living with 19th century rural farmer's fertility levels!
"They are social workers, not psychics; they can't assess somebody who isn't there."
We could get Dr David Southall to hold some mentoring events? ;)
"Reggie, Ronnie.....sounds like the Krays have reincarnated Dahn Sarf."
It's ironic that if they really had been, Croydon might be a safer place!
"Dr Cromarty WINS!"
Indeed!
Sadly, Dave from Tacoma, we lack West Virginia's climate...
Dunno! But maybe Stevie-Lyn or Billie-Jean will each have their own flats with babies Chenin-Blanc and Spumante-Rosso before mum manages her next presumptive Fetal Alcohol Sundrome baby to keep the teachers entertained.
Re: The Independent and its support for Southall. There is a simple explanation for that.
Jeremy Laurance, the relevant editor, is a friend and colleague of Melanie McDonagh, more usually known for her Catholic-based writing although she covers a wide sweep of subjects.
Laurance gets most of his information on Southall via McDonagh. That is because McDonagh is a personal friend of Southall's, and a very close one at that.
Southall's Kosovo project allowed him to examine children in a situation where controls were much less rigorous than here. During the project he hired a Kosovan Albanian medic and sponsored him to come to England, giving him a job here.
McDonagh married him. Although she wrote an article about the David Southall she knew being different to the one other people have repeatedly complained about, she neglected to explain that her connection was personal and based on family loyalty rather than independent professional evaluation or examination of the many witnesses who give a very different account.
Considering she is supposed to be an investigative journalist, she failed to consider that a clever person might be manipulating her emotionally for their own purposes.
But then, there is a tendency in Catholics to accept authority and to dismiss complaints about priests and doctors.
Big raspberry then for Jeremy Laurance who couldn't see that she'd spin any story on this subject and not even realize she was doing it.
"Anyone wondering why Harry and Ronnie are being short-changed on names? I am... "
Given their ages, I rather suspect a certain J.K.Rowling had some influence over the choice.
"That is because McDonagh is a personal friend of Southall's, and a very close one at that. "
So much for journalistic integrity!
