There is no victim of any crime until a Court of Law has brought in a verdict of guilty. Until that moment there is only a Complainant and an Accused. To refer to a Complainant as a 'victim' is to pre-judge the case. As a number of recent failed rape trials have shown, the real victim has been the one who has been falsely accused. It is a legal travestry that the ones making the false accusations in these cases have escaped any sort of meaningful punishment despite having ruined lives. Surely the punishment for a false claim of rape should be equal to the punishment for an actual rape? In rape cases the identity of the alleged victim is kept secret, surely the same protection should be afforded to the accused until a guilty verdict is decided? An accused in a case that is decided as being not guilty should remain anonymous.

Well.. when your lush Government job is a single issue, narrowly defined kind of "hammer", everything in the world suddenly becomes a nail...

And what is her advice about "victims" who lie about their "victimisation" and wreck innocent men's lives? Must we hug them too?

I hope the tea & biscuits and hobnobbing with the political elite are worth selling one's soul to political correctness.

Have you thought of running for Victim Commissioner? You've clearly got something the current incumbent lacks!

I would hate to prejudge her likely response, but... Oh wait, that's encouraged now!
