I has no ide Taser stood for owt. I though it was called a Taser because you used it to tase people. Even though I don't know what that means either
I'm going to be in that pub quiz one day, when that question pops up. I'll say, "Oooh! I know this one!", before finally admitting that I've forgotten it

I too read the same "Cracked" article, and they got meaning of the acronym TASER a bit wrong, It actually stands for Thomas A Swift's Electric Rifle.
