Humberside Police said it accepted the court's decision, adding: "The mere recording of the incident by Humberside Police as a hate incident has been ruled as not unlawful and in accordance with the College of Policing (CoP) guidance.
"Our actions in handling the incident were carried out in good faith but we note the comments of the judge and we will take learning from this incident moving forward."Meaning they'll still record it, but won't tell you about it, perhaps?
Responding to the ruling, Helen Belcher, who co-founded Trans Media Watch, said: "I think trans people will be worried it could become open season on us because the court didn't really define what the threshold for acceptable speech was.
"I think it will reinforce an opinion that courts don't understand trans lives and aren't there to protect trans people."It's not the purpose of the courts to 'protect' one group above another.

Plod have been labelled The New Gestapo, which is probably unkind to the memory of naziism. Looking at the track record of Humberside police, I think 'scum' is more appropriate but I will refrain from insulting scum by similarly describing plod's partner, Humberside CPS.

It's outrageous that plod will continue to record unsubstantiated, unproven, unsupported, claims of "trans hate" or "hatred of muslims" when they appear to do naff all about antisemitism, child sex abuse and, let's face it, common crime.
As far as the "trans" community is concerned the courts don’t protect ordinary people so why should the “trans” community feel unprotected. I suspect it could well be "open season" but only on the people who stand up and shout "look at me, I'm trans!"
Slowly but thankfully this period of madness, ignoring basic biology and fabricating "genders", is past its peak.
"Live and let live" should be sufficient for anyone - do what you like, dress how you wish, even modify parts of your body. But (a) shut up about it, (b) don't expect special treatment because of it &, most importantly, (c) do not inflict your deviance on children.
There's a disgusting group called Mermaids, whom some primary schools have allowed into their classrooms, to corrupt and confuse children. Please watch out for these dangerous people and resist/prevent their degrading influence.
I can't say that I ever gave people of indeterminate gender more than a moment's thought until people suddenly started making a big noise about the subject. I've always been one to live and let live as long as people aren't doing me any harm. I don't tend to look down on people just because they're a bit strange in some way, they make the world a more interesting place. It does seem that there are some who are constantly seeking attention and then complaining that they are getting it. Isn't that just reality? If you seek attention you don't get to choose what kind of attention you get.
The worrying thing is that the judge ruled that the edicts of the 'College of Policing' were acceptable. This outfit is a private company, seemingly set up by SJWs in serge and reeking of Common Purpose. Why it is deferred to on matters of public policy is a mystery. I wish someone (Priti Patel, I'm looking at you) would put it in its place.
The threshold is straightforward to anyone with an ounce of intelligence. It is anything that does not involve libel or incitement. That's it.

The College of Policing was created to replace the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) which had major shortcomings. It seems that CoP is merely a dream factory
