The briefing drawn up by the National Police Chiefs' Council urges officers to make sensible decisions and use enforcement as a last resort.
Might as well ask them to solve the Israel/Palestine situation and invents a perpetual motion machine while they are at it...
Police will be able to use force on children if they flout the coronavirus lockdown.
Guidance from the College of Policing says 'reasonable force' can be used if a youngster is believed to be 'outside of their premises without reasonable excuse'.
Officers also have the power to fine parents £60 for failing to stop a child from going out.
And with the courts scaling back their activity, that'll happen sometime next year. Maybe.
Yesterday the chairman of the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners, Katy Bourne, urged forces not to be 'overzealous'.
She said: 'In order for these measures to be truly effective, the police will need to maintain public confidence.'
Nice job shutting that stable door, love, but the horse is over the horizon and galloping away rapidly.

We're confident alright; confident that a minority will misuse/abuse their authority and make up laws on the hoof.
National Police Chiefs Council?
Shades of Life Of Brian, or rearrange these words for a totally heretofore unheard of QUANGO.
I am thinking that if this bunch did not exist absolutely nothing would change.
Except maybe the price of holiday homes.
Yep, I think that boat has sailed.
Look at the contrast with the one below. You can't drive somewhere to take Rover for his walk as you might get in an accident and that would put pressure on muh NHS... meanwhile, there are apparently no downsides to the de facto legalisation of drugs.
Nope, no issues there whatsoever. Just like everything else that goes on in Brighton.
That's the issue right there. You can argue for a hardline, and you argue for a softline, but when they call the SWAT team on dogwalkers and the communidee outreach team on smackheads, they're telling us who they are.
The whole thing is academic around here anyway. All we have seen of the Police for years is increasing demands for more funds on our council tax and the revenue gathering speed camera van. Other than that we don't see a uniform from one year to the next. Ring them if you like but nobody will ever turn up. Need help dealing with criminals, your on your own Mate!

And as if by magic..!

And the drain on the taxpayer..

Sailed, docked, and preparing for return...

Which I bet is still operating...?
