Another Headache For Kier...

Within 90 minutes, officers from Met police stopped 48 bikes in Tooting, south London, and arrested two people for immigration offences on Tuesday.
Met Police told the Evening Standard officers were carrying out a road safety policing operation in Tooting on Tuesday following concerns of dangerous and anti-social moped driving.

Hurrah! The police doing their job, in concert with other agencies! Who could obj...

Oh. Right.

However, Tooting MP Dr Rosena Allin-Khan condemned the Met for “stopping fast food delivery drivers and checking immigration status under the guise of ‘Covid compliance’.”
Speaking on Twitter, she added: “Covid compliance is crucial to stop the spread, but it doesn’t explain why Immigration Enforcement were in attendance. This looks like racial profiling.”
Dr Allin-Khan also expressed concern that the move “may amount to indirect discrimination due to its disproportionate impact on ethnic minority groups” under the Equalities Act 2010.

Poor Kier. One almost has to feel sorry for him, these days. Every time one of his MPs lets her brains fall out all over Twitter he must want to bang his head against a brick wall.

In addition to the immigration offences, two riders were reported for driving without a licence and one man was found to have a number plate which did not conform to regulations.

That's your constituents that requested the police crackdown, Allin-Khan.

Dear Julia - what on earth makes you think "Dr" Allin-Khan gives two hoots about her constituents?

In an ideal world (ha, ha) legislation such as the Equalities Act, “hate crime” and so on would only be for the protection and benefit of those who are in our once sceptred land legitimately and who accept that British law (e.g. immigration, driving licences, third party insurance) must be complied with.
Why shouldn't I fantasise occasionally?

In a sane world such things would be obvious. In any case, there wouldn't be any issues about inequality if everyone, regardless of race or creed, was treated equally before the law.

Good point!

"Why shouldn't I fantasise occasionally?"

Why indeed? It helps to fend off despair at how low we've sunk....

I blame the motorcycle helmet exemption as the thin end of the wedge.
