A farmer who allegedly caught two men trespassing on his land then hogtied them to his quad bike and sped them to the police station has been hailed a hero online. The man, 52, had strapped two lads, aged 17 and 20, across the front and back of his vehicle before driving them four miles to the cops. But instead of quizzing the pair on the alleged trespass, they marched him in for questioning and later arrested him for false imprisonment and assault.And of course, the two scum have gone bleating to the papers.
Speaking to the newspaper, Hornby's mum said: 'They were frightened to death. Absolutely terrified. The pair of them have nearly fallen off the quad bike'.
She said the events had left her upset, and baffled as to why the farmer had reacted in such an extreme way instead of just calling the police.
Because they are fucking useless at dealing with tresspassing scum like your son?

I call bollocks on that one. If I know Lancashire Police (And I think I do), they were not on their way, they had told the farmer that they could not come out as they have a 'lot of incidents on at the moment'.

Let's hope no farmer will shoot the trespassers next time and feed the bodies to the hogs.
I would suggest the main problem being that, as trespass is a civil offence, unless 'aggravated ' (with a weapon), the Police have very few powers to deal with this. That is why the continuation of traveller incursions is allowed to happen.
Meanwhile, hog tying two men (how did he manage to do that? Perhaps there should be a You Tube tutorial on dealing with trespassers) is a criminal offence, which the Police can deal with.
In this case, the Police were damned if they did and damned when they didn't.

Trespass is civil, not criminal, so what were they up to? There's more to tell somewhere . . .
Too many things don't make sense. How did one farmer capture two fit young men? Where is the electric bike the scrotes claimed they were retrieving? And I agree that the chances that the police were on their way to a trespass approximates to zero - unless there was something else going on?
Regrettably, trespass is not a criminal offence in English law. This is why he got into trouble.
