Does No-one Read For Pleasure Anymore...?

Or do they just read to see their own desires and worldview reflected in the pages?

For me, reading was always an escape from my world, and a chance to see another, either real or invented. How sad for today's generation, unable to appreciate anything that doesn't 'reflect their reality'.

Just Throw The Damn Life Ring!

Narrator: It can always get more stupid...

Once, any association or organisation with 'Royal' in its title was an assurance it was staffed with ex-military, no-nonsense types, competent and dependable. Not any more...

Irrisistable Force, Meet Immovable Object.

The UK’s first transgender judge has launched a case against the UK in the European court of human rights challenging the process that led to the supreme court’s ruling on biological sex.

 On what grounds?

The retired judge Victoria McCloud, who is now a litigation strategist at W-Legal, is seeking a rehearing of the case, arguing that the supreme court undermined her article 6 rights to a fair trial when it refused to hear representation from her and did not hear evidence from any other trans individuals or groups.

Did it need to, in order to reach a decision?

“The court reversed my and 8,500 other people’s sex for the whole of equality law … We are now two sexes at once. We are told we must use dangerous spaces such as male changing rooms and loos when we have female anatomy. If we are raped we must go to male rape crisis. We are searched by male police, to ‘protect’ female police from, I assume, our female anatomy.

You don’t have female anatomy, sir, even if you’ve had the operation, all you have is a crude, non working facsimile of it. You are a male. You will always be a male. No matter what anyone tells you otherwise.

Meanwhile, in Scotland:
A campaign group that won a legal victory on the definition of sex is taking action against the Scottish government over policies it says are “inconsistent” with the ruling. For Women Scotland’s legal battle with Scottish ministers over the definition of a woman ended in the UK’s supreme court, which ruled in April that the words “woman” and “sex” in the Equality Act 2010 referred to a biological woman and biological sex.

And they have to take this action because the progressives aren’t giving up:

However, the group said it now had “little choice” but to take further legal action as some policies regarding transgender pupils in schools and transgender people in custody remained in place, which the group said was “in clear breach of the law”.

Laws are for the little people to obey, clearly…

Why Was This Ever Considered Appropriate In The First Place?

A rape crisis charity at the heart of a row over whether trans women can attend support sessions for women has announced it is launching a new service for women which will exclude transgender participants.

It beggars belief that this is news, because who could have ever believed that this would have been considered normal in the first place?

In 2022 a woman known as "Sarah" told BBC News she was suing Brighton-based Survivors' Network because she felt uncomfortable talking about her own abuse in front of a trans woman who had joined the group.

For ‘trans woman’ read. ‘Man in womanface’ as if a rape victim would ever feel comfortable in the presence of such!

The charity, which provides support services for survivors of sexual violence in Sussex, says it will now run a new group for biological women who live as women, alongside its existing meetings that allow trans and non-binary people to take part.

Because the risk of being sued has now got too great, not because they’ve come to their senses, of course!

Sarah told the BBC in 2002 she had been sexually abused as a child and then raped when in her 20s. She had approached the group for support after coming into contact with the man she said had attacked her. "I was finding it really hard to cope," she said at the time. She said she had found the sessions helpful and supportive at first. She called them a "safe space". However, a trans woman - a biological male who identified as a woman - started attending the support group for victims of sexual abuse and assault. Sarah says the trans woman presented as typically male in the way she looked and dressed, and Sarah felt uncomfortable in her presence. "I don't trust men because I was raped by a man," she said at the time. "I don't necessarily trust that men are always who they say they are." Sarah stopped attending the sessions.

And you’re wise to, because these days, some of them aren’t. And there are other women bound and determined to assist them in this endeavour!

Might Just As Well Announce An ‘All Must Have Prizes’ Badge

Girl guides can now earn badges for activities such as "fandoms", being a "booktivist" and sharing their "guiding sparkle". In total, 72 new badges are on offer, marking an historic update to the youth organisation's offering. The move was a response to girls' requests to broaden Girlguiding's scope to include activities such as environmental conservation and building confidence, according to a statement.

Good grief!

One young girl told BBC Newsround that, as part of earning the laughter badge, another girl had made animal noises that the rest of the group then had to copy. Brownies (aged seven to 10) will now be recognised for showing a keen interest in folklore or birdwatching, as well as discovering ways to make their voice heard.

But they'd better not make their voices heard about boys joining the Guides in womanface, if they know what's good for them...

Girlguiding ambassador and TV presenter Angellica Bell said trying the new badges had been "a real blast". She said the organisation helped build girls' confidence "whilst tackling important issues impacting their lives such as online harm, sexism and misogyny".
They only need to read your website to learn about misogyny.

Why Don’t They Try Offering Exciting And Absorbing Games Instead?

On Tuesday, I spoke to many coders, artists and studio heads who have had games cancelled, staff axed and deals obliterated; several senior developers predicted that the recent savage cuts to staff numbers and game projects will lead to a gaping black hole in the release schedules of many triple-A publishers in late 2026 and 2027. Grand Theft Auto VI was always going to be huge; now it’s looking like the only game in town.

Not for me - that's going to be 'Jurassic World Evolution 3', out on 21st October, and for which I've treated myself to a new gaming laptop! 'Spared no expense' you might say. 😏

An excellent panel discussion entitled Why Cultural Recognition is Crucial to the Future of the Games Industry saw Nick Poole, CEO of the trade body Ukie, welcoming a more positive view of the industry among politicians and policymakers in Westminster. “Three years ago, understanding of games was scant, but just recently there’s been a massive amount of recognition,” he said.

Is this an unqualified good thing? Reader, I say no:

“Suddenly, politicians are talking to us about the educational reach of games; the power of games for young people as a channel of self-expression; we’ve seen the first games being prescribed on the NHS as a treatment for anxiety and depression – there’s a recognition that the cultural echo of games is far greater than the economic proposition.”

The insidious tentacles of propaganda and wokeism must spread everywhere to bring about the Ptogressives' idea of  future Utopia, and so they set their sights on games:

On the fears surrounding the use of AI, especially large language models, in game development, Cassia Curran, founder of consulting firm Curran Games Agency, had some positive advice: “The development of AI will mean there’s an abundance of content out there,” she said. “But the way that you can achieve success as a developer will be to lean into the authentic human experience you’ve lived. AI cannot reproduce your feelings or your culture, and these can be reflected in your games. In the era of AI slop, players will be looking for experiences that feel new and deeply human.

I don’t even want to know the  human experience that the developers of a video game have lived! Why should that matter, anyway? What I’m looking for in a game is; does it work well with few or no bugs? Are the graphics good? Is the subject matter interesting and absorbing?

Lydia Cooke, a PhD researcher specialising in queer game studies, chaired a heartening roundtable discussion entitled Representation in Games: Beyond the Surface. Cooke talked of barriers to representation in mainstream games, where atypical characters are often seen as a commercial risk.

Oh god, make it stop!

This is not just an industry controlled by CEOs and shareholders, it is a culture and an art form, and it will continue.

It won't continue to sell if games developers keep hiring bloody 'specialists in queer games studies' that's for sure...

They Infiltrate Everywhere....

Angela Howard, a second-generation witch whose mother was a high-priestess who ran a coven in the 1980s, turned to the religion hoping to find 'spiritual healing' in 2020 from the faith - even training to become a bard, a division focusing on storytelling, poetry and performance.

It seems there’s no institution the cocks in frocks and their handmaidens won’t infiltrate to push their agenda, no matter how niche…

So she was horrified when she was banned from areas of the faith after speaking up about her experiences when a pagan group said trans women being women 'is not up for debate'.
The furious post, made after the Supreme Court ruling that trans women are not legally women, cited their 'unequivocal' support for trans people and belief that 'trans women are women, trans men are men and all non-binary genders are valid'.

I guess they found it easy to infiltrate a group already prepared to accept odd notions, as David Thompson notes..

In a post titled 'Statement of Support for Trans People from the Pagan Federation' they said that their values were 'rooted in respect for the divine', adding that 'the gods and spirits we work with' tell them that identity is part of their spiritual path. And devoted druids were left horrified as the hard-line group banned or blocked anyone who raised an objection. In a comment, they said: 'We are banning people who are being hateful and/or bigoted (4 so far).'

Are the voices of the ‘gods’talking to you now?

In a written complaint to the BDO, she said, as reported by The Times: 'It is profoundly ironic that within modern paganism and druidry (movements that should be committed to liberation, healing and truth) we are witnessing a kind of spiritual witch-hunt against those who speak up for the rights, safety and dignity of women and girls.'

Of course their handmaidens followed in their wake as they always do, eager to portray themselves as even more unhinged than the perverts themselves:

...others were delighted with the group's stance, praising them as they continued to ban members. One said: 'You're doing a solid job. Every time I finish writing a reply to some of these anti-trans types and click post, you've already removed the post I'm replying to. It's a very pleasant kind of frustration. Keep on beating me to it.'

I suspect that is the least frustrating thing in this no doubt white progresssive woman's life...

It's Not The Children They Are Worrying About...

The petition goes on to allege that Prevent is racist and Islamophobic, stating: ‘Muslim parents are worried that a child’s innocent comment [on Gaza] could lead to them being hauled before Prevent.
‘Many have demonstrated their support and sympathy for the Palestinian people, but are fearful of the consequences.’
...it's what will happen when it's realised that the children are merely parroting what they are hearing at home. Or in the mosque.

Why they should worry about any consequences is the big mystery because sadly, there never are any for this wretched backward cult.
Security was tightened around the Tower Hamlets civic centre in preparation for the hearing last night. Entitled ‘Defend Free Speech and Democracy’, it was handed to the borough’s mayor Lutfur Rahman and the council’s cabinet.
And there's a clear example of the lack of consequences - this man's history should have ensured he was never re-elected.
One local councillor expressed fears about the petition and its timing. They warned it might inflame an already tense situation in the borough over the Gaza-Israeli conflict and anti-Semitic feeling.

I'm not sure, at this stage, that that's even possible...

Well, That's A Relief At Least...

Boakye no longer works in the classroom...
But the damage is already done.
Racism in education should be treated as a safeguarding issue, with anti-racist policies in all schools in England and training for staff, according to a new book.
Jeffrey Boakye, a black English teacher, author and broadcaster, argues that schools are unsafe places for students marginalised by race, and warns that black children are attending institutions that might “actively contribute to their harm”.
He says issues of social justice, including racism, should be taken as a key performance indicator in schools.

Yes, it's yet another fifth-columnist now making a nice living from the grievance industry:

Boakye, who now delivers training, talks and consultancy on issues around race, anti-racism and curriculum design to schools, as well as co-presenting BBC Radio 4’s Add to Playlist with Cerys Matthews, also addresses recent moves to decolonise the curriculum in England.

Truly, those who can, do, those who can't, teach...and those with an eye on a lucrative career telling everyone how racist Britain is get showered with public money to do so:

Decolonisation is not simply a case of better representation and increased diversity,” he writes.
“Those things are a start, absolutely, but to decolonise the curriculum is to recognise that it exists as part of a system that is rooted in racist soil. Only then can we begin to uproot, and plant something better.”

The question would appear to be, why haven't those majority-black countries already built 'something better'..?
