The Thing You Need To Remember About Reports...

...is they may not go the way you want.

The mother of a 17-year-old trans girl who was a patient at the now-shut Gender Identity Development Service (Gids) at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust said she had initially welcomed Cass’s inquiry, but had been left “disappointed”.

If she's the mother of a child who has decided it was 'born in the wrong body', a lifetime of disappointment is heading her way... 

She had believed the Tavistock was “fundamentally not fit for purpose” as a specialist clinic set up to handle a small number of patients, but the “hysterical environment” surrounding the report was leading to young people losing out on healthcare.

'Healthcare' is a strange term to see used for chemical and surgical castration.  

She described being “shocked as hell” when her child began saying she was a girl at the age of eight in 2015.

A charity recommended she be referred to the Tavistock, “on the basis that it would either go away or it wouldn’t – and it didn’t go away”. “[Because she was autistic] they took everything really slowly. Really, really slowly.”

Another autistic child claiming they were 'transgender'. What a surprise.  

“Puberty blockers have been really good for her. As she entered puberty, she was really, really dysphoric about her shoulders, her facial hair growing her voice deepening. She was very distressed by it and very sad.”

What this child needed was mental health treatment, but what it got was collusion in it's delisions that it could become something it wasn't born to be. The adults haven't been in charge for a long time.  

The woman said the Cass report represented “an agenda from up on high that things need to be more difficult”.

“It’s hard enough as a parent without having the entire society or media pointing at transgender people as if they’re some aberration or as if they threaten us.”

They are some aberration. How many 'transgender children' can anyone remember from their own schooldays? For that matter, how many 'autistic' children? This is a social contagion, spread as much by social media as by word of mouth.   

And the medical profession has been found sorely lacking in containing yet another plague. That's the finding of the Cass Report.  

But We All Know It Won't Be...

In a prevention of future deaths report, coroner Laurinda Bower outlined numerous failings admitted by Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, including 'inadequate monitoring' as staff were 'distracted by the use of their personal mobile phones', even though it was prohibited on wards.

In the report sent to the trust last month, Ms Bower said she was concerned more people could die 'unless action is taken'.

Who is going to force that action to be taken, then? A report from the coroner isn't going to do it, is it? 

An inquest jury concluded in September that the failings had 'probably more than minimally' contributed to her death.

Her widower Michael, 49, of Rainworth, Nottinghamshire, said: 'When Michelle [seemingly] fell asleep, staff should have realised something was very wrong. Had they acted earlier Michelle would have been taken to ICU (intensive care unit) and put on a drip. That would have saved her life.

'By the time they realised what was happening, the same course of action was far too late.'

Mr Whitehead said his 'warm, caring and easy to love' wife had suffered a 'total breakdown from the person she normally is' in the last days of her life.

And no doubt he was reassured that she was in 'the best place' to treat her condition, when that was very far from the case... 

The trust admitted eight failings which also included staff failure to adhere to policy after Mrs Whitehead was sedated, leading to inadequate assessments of her. There was also a delay in a doctor arriving, and in admitting paramedics to the building.

Ifti Majid, chief executive of the trust, apologised to Mrs Whitehead's family for her 'quality' of care, and said the trust was considering the findings of the jury and coroner.

Why is no-one 'considering' whether this trust is still fit to run hospitals? Because we all know that no-one is... 

Surely You Already Know The Answer..?

It's because his boss got away with killing an innocent Brazilian electrician and was promoted to the highest rank possible.

After that, anything goes in the thoroughly discredited Met, clearly...

In 2016, retired High Court judge Sir Richard Henriques produced an excoriating report on the failings of the inquiry in general, but vital sections (43 in all), including the shortcomings of individual detectives, were redacted.

Yesterday, the largely uncensored version was published, and it could not have been more critical of former DAC Rodhouse – of his judgment, of his decision-making and of his professionalism, which ultimately resulted in £2.5million of public money – and 16 months – being spent on the say-so of a single ‘source’, the now convicted fantasist Carl Beech, aka Nick.

He's the fall guy, and deservedly so, but the rest of his team hardly cover themselves in glory:

One crucial lead was a ‘corroborating’ witness called Fred. ‘The DAC,’ said Sir Richard, ‘reiterated the need to explore all options regarding Fred.’ Yet data that could have established his whereabouts and identity was never examined.

‘This is a classic demonstration,’ said the judge, ‘of the difference between investigating and believing an allegation.’

It turned out after Operation Midland was closed in 2016 without any arrests that Fred was Nick using another email address.

Basic investigative policy thrown overboard due to the prevailing climate at the time. So why isn't some criticism falling on those who spread the policy of always believing the victim? 

People like Kier Starmer and Alison Saunders, who steamrollered this policy through, ensured it spread throughout all branches of our so-called 'justice system' and who never faced any consequences either.

They are just as culpable. As are the politicians that saw them into their roles and never uttered a peep. I'm looking at you, Cameron and May.

Failing Upwards....

He denied all three allegations, but a panel found them to be proven. They recommended he was given management advice, but then-Chief Constable Stephen Kavanagh decided he should face no further action hailing his service record for all but ten minutes of his 28-year career.

Now a spokesman for Essex Police has confirmed he is leaving the force for a new role in the Met.
