 He's a Prince and he always will be. It's not a title that can ever be stripped away, it's his by right of birth.

"He has to make his own decisions as to what he feels he should do, but I think that he has behaved disgracefully," Jenrick told the BBC 

"The public are sick of Prince Andrew and the damage that he's done to the reputation of our Royal Family and this country."

Heatherwick Is Robbed Again

 Sadly, instead of a gorgeous and innovative design for the Queen Elizabeth national memorial, we will end up with this monstosity by Norman Foster instead, which looks like it would be more at home on the bridge of the Starship Enterprise than St James's Park.

His translucent glass “unity bridge”, inspired by Elizabeth’s wedding tiara, is said to symbolise her as a “unifying force”.

It looks more like the plastic cutlery yoi get with a takeaway packed lunch to me! 

Recycling Old Ideas..?

Well, why not? We were cheated out of what would have been a stunning creation, so why not 'rebadge' it?

Shortlisted ideas for the Queen Elizabeth II national memorial were unveiled today, including a bronze cast of a Windsor oak tree and a giant canopy of stone lily pads. Other ideas include audio installations with the late Queen's voice and a statue of her next to Prince Philip, and a 'graceful and strong' stone bridge with cascading water.

It's the Heatherwick option that I favour out of all of them:

Heatherwick Studio Bridge of Togetherness - A memorial walk inspired by the idea of 'togetherness' with 70 lily pad stepping stones by Heatherwick Studio with sculptor and ceramicist Halima Cassell, MRG Studio, Webb Yates and Arup. At the centre of the bridge is a limestone sculpture of the late Queen, whose childhood nickname was Lilibet, protected by a giant canopy of eight carved sculptural lily pads, with the stone chosen because it will 'age with dignity'.

Please, no more equestrian statues or hideous modern art! Let this win!

...and it's on all three main channels, so avoiding it will be difficult. Or would be, if not for the plethora of streaming services and freeview channels available!

So will I watch? Maybe. Not with any enthusiasm for his reign, which I suspect will not be the triumph of 'quietly getting on with it' that marked the late Queen's reign. But to see the sort of spectacle that we do better than any other country in the world.

The Duke of Sussex has said he had enough material for two books, but he held back because he does not think his father and brother would “ever forgive” him.

In an interview with Bryony Gordon of The Daily Telegraph, Harry said: “It could have been two books, put it that way.”

Ms Gordon wrote that Harry told her the first draft was 800 pages – double the final manuscript which comes in at just over 400 pages.
