About Time The DDA Got Another Listing..?

An 11-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital with chest and arm injuries after he was bitten by a family dog.
Police were called to Commercial Street in Rishton at 6pm on Friday, June 23, after the youngster was bitten by an American Bulldog at his home.
Ah. The new pitbull for the underclass,.
Inspector John Fryer said the boy has suffered puncture wounds to his arms, chest and underarms but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, according to local radio station 2BR.
He said: "The incident happened at an address in Commercial Street, Rishton. It was an isolated incident and the dog was contained in a back yard when our police dog handler arrived. It wasn't running around attacking the public.
"The dog has been removed to kennels and will be destroyed on the instructions of the owner, who is the boy's mother."
At least it was her own kid, and not some other mother's child...

Guilty Conscience, Perhaps..?

Judge Nicholas Loraine-Smith ordered psychiatric reports and referred to Beale's 'attention-seeking, which is what this case is all about'.
He told her: 'You have been convicted of all of these matters. They are very serious indeed, counts one to four most particularly.
'Somebody went to prison for a long time as a result of your perjured evidence.
'I am going to remand you in custody and I will be fully informed of your true psychiatric state when you return in August.'

I'm not sure what more you'll get, frankly. Perhaps you should have ordered such reports on the idiot cops who kept arresting men long after it was clear what was really going on.

Every paper is reporting this sad story of ....

Wait. *scans list*

Well, well, well....

*rolls eyes*

A Title You Really Need To Read Twice When You See The Picture...

Looks inordinately pleased with himself, doesn't he?

Zuriel Hutson, 21, was caught with a Marmoset monkey in a small cage during a raid on his Highbury home in October last year.
The primate – sometimes kept as a designer pet - was malnourished and dirty, and would have died if she had not been saved, an expert found.
In case you were thinking this might be his only crime...
Hutson is currently serving a two-and-a-half year prison sentence for a spree of mobile phone robberies last November. He and an accomplice rode on a moped around several London boroughs snatching phones from unsuspecting pedestrians. With police hot on their tales, the pair weaved in and out of traffic while driving the wrong way along the M11 at 90mph in a bid to escape.
Hutson was ultimately captured and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to steal and dangerous driving. He denied the animal cruelty charge but was found guilty by magistrates following a short trial.
The mind boggles.

"Pussy Pass? Why, I Never Leave Home Without It!"

Beverley Thomas was attempting to cross the road through a gap in the central reservation which was marked with no entry signs.
One car braked heavily to avoid the Thomas's vehicle but a Ford Focus in the outside lane smashed into her Mini Cooper.
The 56-year-old of Ladies Mile Road, Brighton, and the driver of the Focus were both injured in the accident.
Police found the DVLA had previously revoked Thomas's driving licence in 2016.
At Worthing Magistrates' Court, Thomas pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and driving while her licence was revoked.
Case closed, throw the book at h...

Oh. Silly me.
She was sentenced to eight weeks' imprisonment, suspended for two years. She was also disqualified from driving for two years and ordered to take an extended driving test before she can obtain another licence.
*sighs*

"Watch Them All The Time? That's Not Why I Wanted Kids!"

Alice Sloan, from Alfriston, was walking past Hove Town Hall with her daughter Parisa
(Ed: !!!) when the toddler ran over to a black Harley Davidson parked on the pavement.
Parisa brushed her left leg against the hot exhaust pipe and burned her calf. Ms Sloan rushed her to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton. She was then sent to the burns unit at Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead.
That'll teach her to keep a better eye on her child, won't it?

But wait! Clearly, this can't be her fault!
The 36-year-old said: “My daughter was admitted to the burns unit where they debrided the burn and bandaged it.
“Apparently, motorbike exhausts can reach 1,500 degrees Celsius and burns suffered from touching such exhausts can keep on developing over a few days.
“It is likely to leave a nasty scar and if third degree she will require a skin graft and many more painful appointments.
“This would never have happened if the motorbike was parked legally on the road.
Or if you'd paid more attention to what your child was doing...
“The motorbike was parked outside Hove Town Hall, close to the bus stop, and fully on the pavement in Church Road.
“I wish it was law that exhausts had a protective grate.”
I wish it was law that parents of small children had to use reins. To stop them running around and doing as they pleased.
She added: “It couldn’t have happened at a worse time as my daughter is desperate to use her sand pit and paddling pool in this amazing heat but she has a large bandage on.
“Her baby brother is also due within a week so it has been tough for me too.
“I believe this should be a criminal offence as it endangers the public as my daughter’s injury has proven.”
All it's proven is that you're unfit to have one child, never mind two...

Those Slow, Slow Wheels Of Justice

A father who admitted owning a dog that killed his three-week-old son is facing jail. Reggie Young was attacked at his home in Falkland Road, Sunderland, on 20 June 2015 and died in hospital.
Ryan Young, 32, had initially denied owning the terrier-type dog but changed his plea at Newcastle Crown Court. A child neglect charge will lie on file.
Yes, you read that right. This case has taken two years to come to court. Still, at least it's over now and...

Oh.
Recorder Nicholas Lumley QC has adjourned sentencing to a future date to allow reports to be prepared.
/facepalm

I Thought This Generation Was Tougher Than This...

Bob Wood, 79, was playing golf at Queens Park in Bournemouth with some friends when the “completely out of control” dog attacked him.
The dog, which is said to have been a breed of pitbull, was wearing no collar or lead and Mr Wood was forced to fend it away with his golf club.
You have in your hands a heavy club. You have friends with you, also with heavy clubs. And the best you can do is 'fend it off'?

When are we going to stop waiting for 'the authorities' to sort it out?
The course is owned by Bournemouth Borough Council, but they declined to comment as the dog warden did not attend the incident.
Police were called to the incident at 11.50am on Thursday and say they have contacted Mr Wood to arrange an interview. A spokesperson for Dorset Police told the Echo that the investigation is ongoing and so far, no arrests have been made.
And probably never will be, since the beast got away...

The Criminal's Friend...

Mr Gerard offered to read a victim impact statement from the officer to the court but Judge Samantha Leigh (Ed: *sigh*) said she had seen it and it did not need to be read out.
Bull admitted affray and making threats with an offensive weapon.
I guess she doesn't think police can be victims. They must be about the only group, since she clearly believes this of criminals...
Judge Leigh handed Bull a nine-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, so that he can take part in a drug treatment programme, noting that he was “high” during the incident.
The judge told Bull the situation with his child must be “heartbreaking” but he should handle it through the courts.
He was ordered to complete 80 hours of unpaid work but a Crown request for costs was refused.
Bit by bit, judges like this are chipping away at the justice system,

Why, Since They Didn't Learn From The First One?

A dog which bit a three-year-old girl at a beach resort has been reprieved from a death sentence. The Staffordshire bull terrier named Reggie had already bitten another toddler and should have been muzzled when he attacked the little girl at Woolacombe, North Devon.
But wasn't. And with a contingent destruction order, there's only one outcome.

Or rather, there should be...
Magistrates in North Devon ordered the dog should be destroyed but owner Terence Gibson appealed to Exeter Crown Court where a judge lifted the death sentence.
If (when!) it bites another child, I hope that kid's father tracks down the idiot judge and punches him.
He ruled that Mr Gibson and his wife had learned their lesson from this incident and could be relied upon to keep Reggie muzzled at all times in the future. He imposed a further contingent destruction order.
What an incredible conclusion to draw from the fact that they clearly didn't heed the last one!
The bite broke her skin and the girl's mother said the dog had hung on for up to ten seconds before being pulled away by Mr Gibson, who offered to pay compensation immediately and asked her not to call the police.
The actions of a guilty man who knows full well that his carelessness has got him into trouble once more.
Mr Gibson had the muzzle with him but told officers he had taken it off so Reggie could have a drink.
Which can be done with a muzzle on.
An expert report commissioned by the defence said Reggie was a placid and friendly dog who may have acted out of character because he had an ear infection and an injured leg.
So this moron took the muzzle of an already-established dangerous dog that was known to be unwell, in public? Time for Clarkson's Law.

No Gunfire Please, We're Townies!

The farmer, Paul Lovell, 43, who was shooting for sport on the farm at the time and has shot there for 12 years, said the situation was "blown out of proportion" and the response "seemed a bit excessive".
He told the Surrey Mirror: "What happened was quite concerning both from my point of view and from the parents' point of view. People are saying that I pointed the gun at the dog walker, which is just not true – I don't recall seeing anyone on the farm while I was out there.
"If you are walking onto a farm you have to expect to see guns, as much as you'd expect to see a pint of beer being poured when you walk into a pub."
I'm glad he didn't say 'as much as you'd expect to see a cigarette being smoked'...
"He added that he will now contact both schools before going shooting each time and is urging dog walkers to "mind their own business" and stick to designated footpaths when they enter private land.
Now there's an exercise in futility if ever I heard one...
