More 70s nostalgia - blackouts are forecast:

Looney lefties infest local councils:
Tower Hamlets Community Housing denied it was glorifying police killers.
Runaway costs squeeze taxpayers:
Home owners face paying up to £500 a year more on the average mortgage as some of Britain's largest lenders raised rates in the wake of the economic turmoil of the last two weeks.
Oh, well, at least we haven't got the prospect of constant striking from the public sector...

Ah:
Britain's biggest union for government workers will ballot 270,000 members over strike action as it pressures Prime Minister Gordon Brown to improve pay.

Trouble is, I can't see any signs of this being avoided - no matter who sits in 10 Downing Street....

Gordon has realised that nuclear power is unpopular and slow to build, and that other options involve CO2 emissions. So he's had a bright idea.

In future, our power stations will be run on electricity.
