…to mistreat an animal
right in front of an RSPCA official? Or is it arrogance, rather than stupidity?
… he had called at Winterbottom's home at 7.30pm on June 8.
The court heard that the snakes belonged to her daughter and she had asked the officer to take the animals away.
The inspector said he could not take them for rehoming because he needed the owner's permission, who was not at home.
Winterbottom reacted by pouring half the bottle of fluid onto the snakes, causing them to react "violently" and squirm.
Good grief!
At Grimsby Magistrates' Court, she was given four months in prison, suspended for 12 months, and ordered to pay £552 in costs.
She was also disqualified from keeping or participating in the keeping of animals for five years.
She should have been disqualified for
life. And the sentence shouldn’t have been suspended, either.

I actually quite agree with you for once Mind you it HAS been a funny day.
" And the sentence shouldn’t have been suspended, either." No, but she should have been. Boom, boom!
Hardly anyone goes to prison now (a few rioters excepting.)
Disagree Lex, I know quite a few folks who have political offences against them. Vast majority peaceful, nearly all banged up.

Her face may be obscured on the blog with only her chins showing - but that laryngeal prominence is unmistakeable.
"I actually quite agree with you for once..."
Phew! I was getting worried there.
" No, but she should have been. Boom, boom!"
Heh!
"Hardly anyone goes to prison now..."
Well, apart from Ciaran's Brave Campaigners Against The Mainstream, or whatever they are, they do sometimes. But usually after their 40th offence...

I don't think so, do you?
