The chief constable of Merseyside police, Serena Kennedy, later offered her reassurance over the incident. She said: “While I understand that today’s incident may cause concern in our communities, it should be pointed out that events of this nature are very rare.”
They seem to be increasing in frequency, actually...
“Merseyside police will continue to liaise with community groups, community leaders, partner agencies and individuals in the coming days and weeks to make sure any concerns are addressed and ensuring that we provide the best possible service to local people.”
Which 'communities', Serena? Which 'community leaders'..? What exactly do you mean by 'local people'?

Save your breath, Serena, nobody cares what you say
Whilst there are a great many possibilities as to why someone would set of a suicide blast outside a hospital the use of the word 'communities' by the police does look particularly suspicious.
Let's look at the possibilities
Far rightists? Possible, but the jackboot lickers are not known for suicide attacks. In any event if it was them then it's likely that the police and the politicians would have said so by now. I've marched against these donuts when I a young man and they've always given me the impression that they are not organised enough although it's possible that this could be a lone wolf nutter aligned to them.
Anti Vaxxers? - they are getting increasingly aggressive but again I can't see them carrying out a suicide bomb attack unless they've convinced a mentally ill person to carry it out. There are not many of these judging by the high vaccine take up figures.
Far Leftists? - a hospital does not seem their sort of target.
Someone pissed off with the NHS? - There are a lot of these but again unless someone was truly mad would they do such a thing? Most likely not.
Anarchists? - They've not been a force for terrorist activity since the late 70's early 80's.
A mentally unbalanced individual with no political or religious leanings? - Possible but maybe not probable bearing in mind the technical ability needed to carry out this attack.
The Methodists? - Definitely not.
Gangsters - they murder but I've never known them carry out this sort of attack.
So what does that leave? Something else beginning with 'M' perhaps? The fact that the police are getting in touch with 'community leaders' does look like that this might be the root cause. We shall see what we shall see.
Ever ready for a pun, I realised that sailing ships from Liverpool struggled through the "horse latitudes": now we're being fed the horseshit platitudes.
I'll get my hat . . .
I think senior officers in the police get paid every time they mention the word community. It's the only explanation.
Will she be consulting the exploding community and ask them to stop?
Jaded
The Jannie, I like it. :)
Spot on Jaded.
Serena Kennedy was merely regurgitating a cluster of platitudes that are trotted out by senior police officers whenever a microphone is pushed in front of them. Utterly meaningless claptrap.
"...the use of the word 'communities' by the police does look particularly suspicious."
To paraphrase, the more they talk of 'community', the faster I count the knives in the kitchen drawer...
"I'll get my hat . . ."
Here's your coat! 😁

And with the murder of a 12 year old girl by feral animals not much older, I see they've had a chance to wheel it out again.
