....yes, I checked, it really is.

The US faces growing challenges in countering international terrorism as resources are diverted to other threats, experienced security officials leave and “complacency” spreads, experts have warned.
It is 25 years this week since the 9/11 attacks launched by Osama bin Laden’s al-Qaida on New York and Washington, which killed about 3,000 people and led to decades of conflict, radicalisation and instability across the Middle East and beyond.
Though there have been no successful attacks on anything like a similar scale in the US since, and only a small number inspired by extremist Islamist ideologies, many are warning of growing risks.

As they were in the years and months before 9/11, as it turned out but learning lessons isn’t humanity’s strong point, it seems.

How Is It Possible?

Banksy has confirmed that a huge new statue which mysteriously appeared in central London is his work.
Then arrest him. No, not for his tedious sixth form 'artwork' but for arranging its installation in the middle of the most surveilled capital city in the west, which is currently on high alert.
Commentators on Banksy's Instagram site speculated the work was about 'blind patriotism', and walking directly into danger. They also questioned how he had managed to pull off such a stunt in such a busy area of central London. It is located along Pall Mall, near the Athenaeum Club and the Crimean War Memorial.
Throw him in a cell at MI5 and sweat him until he gives up his collaborators. Or we are not serious about security in the capital.

This Is A Public Service Post

...just don't ask 'Why?' Or 'Who?'

Because those are awkward questuions for all involved. Again

The Golders Green terror suspect was previously jailed for stabbing a police officer and his dog, it emerged on Thursday. Essa Suleiman, 45, was arrested on Wednesday after two men were stabbed in broad daylight in the Jewish area. Now it can be revealed that the Somali-born British national was jailed indefinitely in 2008 for the knife attack on the officer.

Modern UK, where 'indefinitely' means something quite different to the establishment, and this particular stabby enricher was therefore out and roaming the streets - in London, not Mogadishu! - in barely a decade.

Following his release, the former security guard and interpreter was referred to Britain's anti-radicalisation scheme, Prevent, in 2020 as a potential risk to the public. But within months, his case was closed after it was decided he did not pose a risk of launching a terror attack.

The Prevent program must be the most misnamed in history, time after time it has failed to prevent anything. And now the most useless Prime Minister in human history, with one eye on the upcoming elections that will decide his fate, is trying to reassure the public, or at least one small part of it.

But make no mistake, no-one has clean hands over this:

Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp said: 'This man is clearly a danger to the UK's Jewish community. He should not have been walking the streets. We have been importing anti-Semitism and extremism from around the world and it has to end.

We were importing it all through your Party's time in office, under which this man was supposedly 'dealt with' the first time.

'People like this should be deported where they are not British citizens, and if they have acquired British citizenship they should be stripped of it if they are dual nationals or are eligible to be citizens of another country.'

Yes, they should, so why didn't you, when you had the chance?

And Why Should This Be A Surprise?

To the families of the victims, the idea that a woman might have had a hand in the deaths, as reported last week, is an unexpected twist to say the least.

After all, there's even a book about it.

Tell Me Again How 'They Aren't Terrorists',,,

Because I'm a pretty simple sort, and if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, I get the a l'orange recipe ready...
Federal authorities said Monday that they foiled a plot to bomb multiple sites of two US companies on New Year’s Eve in Southern California after arresting members of an extremist anti-capitalist and anti-government group. In the criminal complaint, the four suspects named are Audrey Illeene Carroll, 30; Zachary Aaron Page, 32; Dante Gaffield, 24; and Tina Lai, 41. They are all from the Los Angeles area, Essayli said.
Officials did not describe a motive but said they are members of an offshoot of a pro-Palestinian group dubbed the Turtle Island Liberation Front.

Law enforcement should have figured out the dangers of these loons long ago, instead of considering them a nuidsance simply demonstrating about a far-off conflict.

The plan included planting backpacks filled with complex pipe bombs that were set to be detonated simultaneously at midnight on New Year’s Eve at five locations, according to officials and the criminal complaint. New Year’s Eve was identified as an opportune time in the plan that stated “fireworks will be going off at this time so explosions will be less likely to be noticed,” according to the investigation.

And they seem to have been perfectly willing to branch out to whatever fashionable cause is at the top of the Left's agenda:

Two of the group’s members also had discussed plans for future attacks targeting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and vehicles with pipe bombs in 2026, according to the criminal complaint.

Which has no connection to the 'cause' of Palestine, so maybe stop treating them as harmless demonstrators, and start treating them as the nacent trrrorists they often are.

A Dreadful Familiarity...

That's what struck me about the Bondi Beach terrorist massacre, as I read about it over brerakfast in York at the weekend. All the hallmarks we have come to expect fromn the attack itself to the aftermath and the authorities scrambling to excuse their own part in allowing it to happen...
The alleged gunmen were a 50-year-old, who was shot by police and died at the scene, and his 24-year-old son, who suffered critical injuries and was taken to hospital under police guard where he remained on Tuesday. The 24-year-old was in a coma but regained consciousness on Tuesday, NSW police confirmed. Media have identified them as Naveed Akram and his father, Sajid Akram. Naveed Akram is an Australian-born citizen, the home affairs minister, Tony Burke, said. His father arrived in 1998 on a student visa, transferred in 2001 to a partner visa and, after trips overseas, had been on resident return visas three times. The prime minister, Anthony Albanese, said the son first came to the attention of the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (Asio) in October 2019. He was examined “on the basis of being associated with others”. New South Wales police and the director general of Asio, Mike Burgess, said one of the shooters was known to authorities, “but not in an immediate threat perspective”.
Muslims, taken in by a country and repaying it with slaughter, coming to the notice of the authorities but crucially, never enough enough notice to prevent their murderous hatred from finding expression, bevause of that peculiar sensitivity rtowards this murderous cult that infests every Western government. And then the police, arriving too late to do any good, as always. Ah, yes, the police:

As if that's supposed to help...
Some witnesses have suggested police were too slow to disarm the two gunmen, who killed 15 people and injured dozens in Australia's most famous beach on Sunday. "There are two officers in critical care... at the moment," Chris Minns said after sustained questioning from reporters. "They weren't shot in the back as they were running away. They were shot in the front."

The point being they shouldn't have been shot at all. Aren't we always told we have no need to protect ourselves, because a paid and professional force stands ready to do it for us? Yet how often it seems that's worse than useless when it comes to the crunch.

'Not Over', Nesrine? When Did It Ever Actually Start?

A “dangerous illusion that life in Gaza is returning to normal”, is how Amnesty International’s secretary general, Agnès Callamard, described this post-ceasefire period. Israeli authorities have reduced attacks and allowed some aid into Gaza, she said, but “the world must not be fooled. Israel’s genocide is not over.”

The 'genocide that never was', you mean? The 'genocide ' that the Israils aren't carrying out, or the one Hamas itself is doing it's level best to slip though the fog of war, unnoticed by the MSM?

It’s OK, Folks, Panic Over, Right?

It wasn’t terrorism after all, just another mentally ill black guy deciding to go on a rampage, almost certainly known to the authorities like Valdosta Calocane and left to roam the streets because of his ‘uman rites (none of whom will face any consequences for their failure, naturally!).

What are you worried about? It’s not like there aren’t more of them in the UK than terrorists, eh?

Props to the ‘Mail’ for confirming the colour of one of the victims blood, stonking journalism there, chaps!

Whew! What a relief! No Vulcans here!

Update:

And now we know, it is - once again-  a case where all the fulsome praise for the emergency services turns to ash once it becomes obvious that - once again - they failed to secure this stabby lunatic before the train rampage. Oh and they Tasered a completely innocent bystander. Makes a nice change from fatally shooting one, I suppose.

Never Forget...

I can't believe it's almost a quarter of a century ago. But rather than dwell as usual on the evils that religious fanatics do, time to look at what can be accomplished by ordinary people:

If you want to see the show itself, you can catch it touring, or on Apple TV.

Why Isn't This A Bigger News Story?

Hertfordshire Police were called to Cowley Hill in Borehamwood at about 12:15 BST on Saturday, and a 100m (328 ft) cordon was put in place, with some nearby homes evacuated.

Unlike most such stories, there turned out to be something to it:
Controlled explosions took place following an assessment by the explosive ordnance disposal unit.

some on social media suggesting these were car bombs, not seen on the mainland since the IRA days:

The force said a 38-year-old man from Edgware, London, and a woman aged 38 from Borehamwood had been arrested in connection with the incident and were in custody. Police said they believed it was a "targeted attack on the victim" which had "caused a lot of concern in the local community".

The victim isn’t named either. Maybe when the accused are charged and the names revealed the MSM will take more notice. It finally made the 'Mail' on Saturday, but very, very far down the screen....

Robert Kovacs, 38, of Edgware, has since been charged with attempted murder, making an explosive substance with intent to endanger life / injure property and doing an act with intent to cause an explosion likely to endanger life / injure property.

Curious case.

Why Would Terrorists Bother, After All?

Thousands of police officers are braced for three days of carnage at the Notting Hill Carnival this weekend amid concerns over escalating violence and potential crushes. Scotland Yard said 7,000 officers and staff will be deployed each day from Saturday to Monday as they attempt to keep up to two million revellers safe in West London.

The Met clearly didn't manage to do what would have been far more sensible, and move the wretched thing to another, safer and more appropriate location.

So we will now pretend that the threat to safety that mandated expensive and ugly anti-terrorist barriers on the streets has been abated for two days so a bunch of immigrants can have a knees up:

A series of 31 anti-terror concrete barriers were installed on Portobello Road last month by Kensington and Chelsea Council to help deter vehicle attacks in the popular market area of Notting Hill following counter-terrorism guidance issued by the Met. But the council said these 'hostile vehicle mitigation measures' will be removed for two weeks from today to ensure 'people can move freely and safely during the event'.

Quite why terrorists would bother attacking the Carnival, when they couldn’t possibly cause more terror and disruption than it does every single year, is I suppose the council’s ‘thinking’ here…

Oh, This Won't End Well....

A new scheme to detect people who are obsessed with violence before they kill, such as the Southport attacker Axel Rudakubana, should be considered by the government, an official report will say.

Why? It'll merely prove to be as useless (and caputed by the 'welcome all refugees' crowd) as all the others....

The report into Prevent, the controversial programme intended to stop people from becoming terrorists, will also find repeated “failings” in the case of the man who went on to assassinate the MP Sir David Amess, the Guardian understands.

How surprising, eh? Bet you didn't see THAT coming, eh, Reader?

The findings are likely to intensify the campaign by the family of the murdered veteran Tory MP that there should be a public inquiry into what the authorities knew about the dangers posed by Amess’s killer, and whether he could have been stopped. The government has so far resisted that call.

Keep pushing. Starmer will crack in the end!

The Amess family want an inquiry similar to that into the Southport atrocity, which started hearings this week.

One has to ask why the establishment wouldn’t want one, when it concerns the murder of one of their own?

As well as those driven to violence by such an ideology, police and the government are concerned about young men consuming a “pick and mix” of horror online and showing levels of interest in violence considered to be worrying.Any new anti-violence scheme would be in addition to Prevent and possibly even include it as a specific element to deal with those where ideology, such as Islamist or far right, is present. Multiple sources told the Guardian that while a new anti-violence scheme may be needed, a lack of money may thwart its setting-up.

Well, maybe they should have thought about this before splashing out on a superinjunction and the importation of thousands of Afghans.

Are You Sure You Mean That, Two-Tier?

People-smugglers should be treated like terrorists, Keir Starmer will say on Monday, as he hosts an international summit on organised migration crime in London.

Does he mean we should be employing them to advise the government? Or letting them intern in our spy HQ?

The summit is the latest initiative in the government’s attempts to cut irregular migration by targeting organised crime.

Ah, a new euphemism. Just what we need!

Ministers will mark the opening of the summit with a range of new policy measures, including £30m to tackle global trafficking routes and the flows of illicit money which fund them.

Until you do something to reverse the perverse pull factor that keeps them coming, you're just pissing taxpayers' money down the drain. Stop putting them up in hotels and supplying them with free food and medical treatment.

But The Laws We Already Have Worked?

...the proof being that the perpetrator is in jail for life:
A new offence to cover lone individuals planning non-terrorist mass killings should be considered in the wake of the Southport attacks, the UK's terror watchdog has said. However the independent reviewer of terrorism legislation, Jonathan Hall KC, says the definition of terrorism should not be expanded or changed.

Why does it need to be? Surely it simply needs to be applied, as it wasn't in this case.

Mr Hall considered whether the definition of terrorism itself should be changed to include mass violence without a political, religious, racial or other ideological motivation, but concluded it should not. "Redefinition would alter the landscape. It would risk major false positives – the prosecution of people who by no stretch of the imagination are terrorists – and extend terrorism liability into novel terrain," Mr Hall said.
"People swapping violent war footage would be at risk of encouraging terrorism, resulting in unacceptable restrictions on freedom of expression."

And we all know why he stopped short - not so acedemics could have online discussions about violence without the fear of plod breathing down their necks, but so the idiots that support Hamas and other Islamic terror organisations can spread their propaganda unaffected.

However, Mr Hall said there was a clear risk to the public of people who are interested in carrying out acts of mass violence, including school massacres. Currently there is no law against preparing for such an attack which "means that no prosecution would be available if the police raided an address and found careful handwritten but uncommunicated plans for carrying out a massacre". As a result, he is recommending the government considers creating a new offence, similar to the offence of preparing an act of terrorism.

The lack of such a law didn't seem to hinder this arrest.

As part of his report Jonathan Hall KC considered what should happen with young people like Axel Rudakubana, who are referred to the counter-terrorism Prevent programme, but are not taken on because they do not have a clear ideology. "If they are not to be managed by counter-terrorism police, who will 'own' the risk?", he asked.

We will. We always do.

So Now We All Know, Kier… They Weren’t ‘Far Right’, They Were Just Right

And that's what worried you the most. So don't think we can be bought off with a public enquiry that will be carefully stage-managed to exonerate you.

Charlie Bentley-Astor covered the brief trial and the revelations on Twitter, revealing the horiffic events preceding the murders, and the utter failure of the authorities to seize on chances to prevent it. We were all braced for some sort of state failure, of course, but no-one - me included - had any real idea how bad it would be.

His obsession with mass killings was also known to the authorities, but it is not clear whether they were aware of his father’s link to the Rwanda genocide of 1994.
It can now be revealed that Alphonse Rudakubana, a taxi driver who arrived in the UK in 2002, is thought to have fought with the Rwandan Patriotic Army (RPA), an armed force that battled the Hutu-dominated regime in Rwanda and eventually brought an end to the mass ethnic killings of 1994.
He is reported to have been an RPA officer, possibly relatively senior, based in neighbouring Uganda, where his family are thought to have fled well before the genocide.

Well, there's no 'unrest' now, so why can't they be sent back?

But, some will cry, why do you doubt a public enquiry will be effective? Well, Reader, simply this:

Police have found no evidence that the Southport attack was motivated by political, religious, racial or ideological causes, meaning it cannot be classed as an act of terrorism despite him having possession of a document proscribed under terrorism laws.

Normal people will say 'if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, has in its possession a terrorist manual and ricin, then it's probably a duck terrorist'. But a carefully selected public enquiry will use this sleight of hand to avoid reaching any conclusions that might threaten the squinty-eyed piece of filth in No 10.

If They Rebooted 'The X Files', Mulder's 'I Want To Believe' Poster...

...would refer not to UFOs, but to the FBI itself.

That's if Mulder wasn't a black gay wheelchair-bound woman. Like the DEIhires who turned up in New Orleans to attend 2025's first Islamic terrorism event.

Well, I guess they are teaching something at Quantico other than investigation - they certainly aren't turning out agents like they used to:

Once they found the bombs and ISIS flag on the truck (visible in Tweets from the scene), ol' Althea's earpiece was no doubt buzzing like a hornet nest and the story immediately changed to what everyone else had already figured out - the NOLA Mayor was right after all.

And this rot in the heart of the administative agencies is why the re-election of Trump is probably not going to be the turning point that people hope. Not unless there's a plan to deal with the cancer of DEI going forward.

I Guess The 'Benefits Of Such New Ways Of Communicating' Aren't Seen By Every Police Farce...

The Police Policymakers are embracing social media, with every farce in the country employing a media team, working to these guidelines. I wonder just what sort of Section 4 risk prompted them to immediately pull this happy Christmas Tweet so abruptly?

Was it because the public immediately pointed out that the threat Santa's Little Armed Helpers were supposedly guarding us against went strangely unspecified?

Was it because it prompted a wave of ridicule that made the social media team cry?

Was it because it contrasted so strongly with past Christmas markets that didn't require that level of security that people asked awkward questions about why today's Christmas markets felt the need for them?

I guess we'll never know.

We Can All Answer That, Ahmed…

It's pretty simple, isn't it? Release the hostages and lay down arms, give up the objective of driving every Israeli out of Israel..?

I am terrified for my family. I am terrified for all Palestinians. I am terrified for humanity, because if we allow this to continue, if we stand by and watch as an entire people are destroyed, then what hope do we have?

The irony of a Palestinian activist crying about an entire people being destroyed shouldn't be lost on any scholar of modern day Islamic terrorism.

"People used to think if they were affiliated with Hezbollah but not fighters, they were effectively safe."

There's an old saying, chum - lie down with dogs and you'll get up with fleas.
"But this changes everything. The pager attacks happened in areas where you thought they could never happen – Christian areas, for example. But Hezbollah are everywhere in Lebanon and you can't know who is who."

When they go 'boom!' you soon find out. And then all your terrorist-supporting journalist friends start crying about it on social media:

'Anyone can be killed' squeals little Owen. Conveniently forgetting that to put yourself in the electronic crosshairs, you have to launch an unprovoked attack on Israeli civilians.

Well, You Wanted Diversity...

...so much so you held a festival for it! So why surprised when diversity showed up?

A knifeman has left several people dead after stabbing random passersby in the neck in a horrific 'terror attack' at a diversity festival in Germany. Three people died and four were left seriously injured after the knife attack, with armed police swarming the streets of Solingen.

Any idea which particular flavour of diversity is responsible?

No arrests have been made as of yet, with the suspect said to be on the run and a situation centre set up in Café Kersting following the savage rampage. Police said they have no idea what the attacker looks like but warned of future danger.

Go on, have a guess! I'm betting he doesn't look like this:

Police are said to be classifying it as a terrorist attack, according to Bild. Germany's armed special police officers have been deployed to assist at the scene.

Let's hope they do better this time.
