Well, this is going to be rather interesting. Perhaps, for once, the race baiters have bitten off a bit more than they can chew. Because there's something the headlines and the rabble rousing MP have omitted...
An interestingly situation, although bad news for anyone caught up in the crossfire.
On the subject of staff intervention to prevent pupils coming to harm, some years ago, the new Head of my then school saw fit to assemble and address the staff after an allegation of assault was made against a teacher by a year 10 boy whom she had restrained (by holding his jacket) from punching a younger boy in the face,
The Head pointed out (with a marked absence of sympathy) that, by intervening to protect the victim, she had risked injury to herself and effectively invited the allegation, which resulted in her automatic suspension. What she should have done, he said, was to step well back and firmly - and repeatedly if necessary - tell the assailant to stop what he was doing, then, when the attack was over, administer first aid if required..
Presumably a similar policy was being implemented in this case.
Despite claiming racism over every encounter I've found that gypsies are the most racist group I've had dealings with. They don't see the irony in that either.They are also generally very intolerant towards gays as well. Going to enjoy see how this plays out with the media,I'm hoping the next time a white pupil is beaten up by blacks there will be demonstrations outside the school. Jaded
Assume a Jew and a Muslim had a fight and the teacher intervened, it would've been so easy for the teacher to pick the right side and thus prevent mob anger. In this case it's not so clear cut.
"... popcorn ... " Unfortunately, woke victimology has a well established order of precedence, and whoever is lower on the scale (travellers in this case) becomes 'white' for current purposes. They won't miss a beat over this one, and 'white people' will get the blame as usual.

it was lucky they were all able to book time off work for the demo at such short notice.
