Housewife Lorraine Jae, 51, assaulted Tracey Musker after she had a meltdown in a college classroom and grabbed her coat due to criticism of her coursework by their tutor.

The court heard Jae, who is currently waiting for a hip operation, had no previous convictions. 

Sounds like they are planning on operating on the wrong end of her! 

Her lawyer Helen Clarke said in mitigation: 'The drink was in a carton - not a glass bottle or anything of that kind. 

'The argument involving the course tutor related to a dispute about her course work which the defendant thought she had done to a satisfactory standard. Miss Musker then got involved. 

'Clearly it was a short-lived matter and a heat of the moment reaction when the defendant felt extremely frustrated. 

'She had been studying the course for some time, it had not been the best experience and she had some problems along the way. 

'Nevertheless she persevered hoping to achieve a qualification as she was unable to continue other work she had been doing for many years. 

One wonders what her 'other work' might have been. 

'She thought this would be a new start but clearly it did not happen in that way. 

'Clearly this happened out of character and she has learnt her lesson... I can say from speaking to her she is sorry for what happened. She is apologetic to Miss Musker.'

They all say that!

A man has been arrested after a woman was fatally stabbed on a street in London, and another rushed to hospital. The Metropolitan Police have launched a murder probe following the alleged attack in Shepherd's Bush, west London, on Tuesday. Officers responded to reports of a stabbing at around 8.19am on Askew Road, where two women, aged 52 and 32, were found with stab wounds.The 52-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, despite the best efforts of medical staff.

Just another example of imported savagery on the capital's streets? We'll know as soon as the names are revealed.

A man, 48, was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder at the scene of the incident.

Detective Inspector Richard MacKenzie, who is leading the investigation, said: 'Our enquiries continue at pace as we work to establish the full circumstances of this deeply tragic incident. 

'Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the victim and injured woman. 

'We believe this to be an isolated incident within a residential address, but we know it will cause concern locally. Our officers will remain in the area throughout today.'

So a domestic? And probably not a surprise to the neighbours either...

A 102-year-old great-grandfather with dementia died days after he was allegedly pushed off stage in his local pub after making a noise complaint.

A 56-year-old man from Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm, and remains under investigation.

Philip is understood to have been visiting the pub for a drink when he went onto a stage in the venue to complain about the volume of the music.

Robert said: "He just asked them to turn the music down." He said his father turned around to come back down off the stage when he was pushed, and that resulted in a broken hip."[That's] the most upsetting part. He wasn't going to live forever but it's not a nice way, obviously in pain," he said. "We want to see justice, of course. "They must have known he was an old man. It makes you wonder what the world is coming to."

Frequently, yes... 

Det Ch Insp Shelley Comley, senior investigating officer for Gwent Police, said: "We understand the public interest in this incident but want to remind people that, not only is this an active criminal investigation, but there is a family at the heart of it processing the loss of a loved one." She urged people to "consider the impact that inaccurate or speculative comments" including "online commentary" could have.

Commenters have suggested that they are specially designed to prevent suicide by hanging, and I can believe it, because it’s typical of the NHS to install something so utterly useless, rather than simply have no hook on the doors at all.

Paramedic Colleen Gibson, who was the first emergency responder to arrive on the scene, is also said to have failed to tell police and fire crews who arrived shortly after her that Saffron Cole-Nottage was within a crucial 30-minute time period when her life might still be saved.

Giving evidence today, Ms Gibson said she had been involved with four previous water incidents before Ms Cole-Nottage's but she hadn't been trained to take command of a multi-agency emergency.

And clearly, unless you are training people to do something, or better yet, recruiting those of that persuasion, you can’t expect them to step up and do it when needed 

The two-week inquest into the death of Ms Cole-Nottage has already heard how a 999 operator didn't establish the mother-of-six was at risk of drowning due to the incoming tide until seven minutes into a call with the teenager who raised the alarm.

The emergency services are always telling us how ‘every second counts’ but when it comes down to the crunch, you’re at the mercy of people unable to act as if it really does. 

Police bodycam footage showed officers who arrived shortly afterwards asking Ms Gibson if anything could be done to save Ms Cole-Nottage and she replied: 'No.'

Why did she say that? Well, that’s a very good question to which the answer was…

Questioned by inquest counsel Bridget Dolan KC about why she didn't tell emergency services colleagues that the opportunity to save the patient's life potentially extended for another 10 minutes, she said: 'I don't know.'

Imagine that - knowing where she is and that she’s giving evidence in an inquest, she couldn’t even come up with a plausible reason! This is not someone who fears for her future job, it seems...

When Ms Dolan told her police 'said that if they'd been told a rescue was possible they would have tried', she added: 'I don't believe that to be safe. I wouldn't be able to reach down into the rocks head-first with the water.' Ms Dolan replied: 'Nobody is saying you should have tried. The police have said if they knew there was a possibility of rescuing Saffron they would have tried.'

You can almost imagine the frustration in her voice, can’t you? How did someone get to be a paramedic while being so clueless and hapless?

Expert witness Matthew England, a nurse and paramedic who sits on a group that advises the Home Office about emergency services working together on incidents, said Ms Gibson should have taken command of the scene as the first responder there. She should also have communicated with Coastguard, police and firefighters there but it 'did not appear very coordinated in terms of what was going on', he added.

You don't say!? And it's not just the on-scene responders who failed:

The 999 call was placed at 7.52pm but it was not until 7.59pm that the call handler established how quickly the tide was coming in. Christopher Strutt, a call handler team leader, told the inquest the fire service should have been contacted by the ambulance service within seconds when it was known that someone's head was trapped. But he said controllers had to go through an algorithm, asking questions prompted by their computer, and were discouraged from raising their own queries until the list was completed. The revelation prompted coroner Darren Stewart to suggest the 'rather clunky' system had contributed to a 'muddled response'.

God forbid anyone uses their own initiative!  

Now. there's often a fair amount of 'Monday morning quarterbacking' anout inquests, it's true. But sometimes, they throw a harsh light on policies and procedures that hamper, and not help. Although this one hasn't concluded yet, I'd  venure to suggest it already has done so, and not to modern Britain's benefit.

How Is It A ‘Superpower’ If It needs This Level Of Encouragement?

Stormzy called reading a “superpower” as he backed an initiative aimed at encouraging people who don’t see themselves as readers to pick up a book.

What sort of people ‘don’t see themselves as readers?’ you might ask, Reader? Is it once again the demographic that dare not speak its name? 

“Reading helped me when I was young and it still does today,” said Stormzy. “Books have the power to carry you through life.” 

Not as much as being a DEI media darling who can do no wrong in the eyes of the MSM…

“I encourage anyone who doesn’t usually read to pick up a Quick Read – because reading really is a superpower,” he added. “Music and books are both about finding your voice. We are all made of stories – they define who we are.”

If it really was a ‘superpower’ would you have to plug it so hard, or water it down to suit the audience you are aiming at, though? 

“Having never read a book until the age of 24, I wish I had come across Quick Reads sooner,” said Owusu. “They’re accessible, affordable and gentle in their approach, allowing new or lapsed readers to find their way into the pleasure and fulfilment of reading fiction and nonfiction. “I’m excited to be part of their legacy and to add my voice to something that helps people feel confident enough to pick up a book and look forward to spending time with it,” he added.

Police chiefs facing scrutiny over a decision to ban fans of an Israeli football team from attending a match in Birmingham have insisted the move was not politically influenced. West Midlands police (WMP) leaders defended their position at the home affairs committee on Tuesday after being recalled to give further evidence over the decision to ban fans of Maccabi Tel Aviv from attending a Europa League match against Aston Villa on 6 November.

Just the WMP living down to their reputation, or something more sinister? 

Members of the home affairs committee on Tuesday recalled West Midlands police’s chief constable Craig Guildford, and commanders involved in the decision making, greeting parts of the force’s new testimony before them with outrage.Police said they had intelligence the Israeli fans would be the main perpetrators of trouble, a claim that is disputed.

The one thing guarenteed to irk politicians is when their pets in blue start lying to them. That's something they are free only to do to us, the public who are paying for them. 

The cross-party committee of MPs said parts of the intelligence gathering seemed “one sided”, inflating the threat Maccabi fans may have posed while underplaying the threat to them from those in Birmingham angered by Israel’s attacks on Gaza. They said the minutes from SAG meetings showed pressure coming from two councillors, who said that away fans should not attend the game.

And we can guess who those two councillors were. Or rather, what they were.

As intelligence was being gathered ahead of the game, one document contained claims locals in Birmingham might “arm” themselves.

'Locals' with good old Birmingham names? I suspect not. 

Guildford denied he or the police force were politically motivated to find evidence to justify the ban. “From everything that I’ve read, and the commanders that I spoke to, I do not believe that there was political influence on that decision. 

“Lots of local politicians and local members of the community I’m sure wanted to try and influence it, but I honestly don’t think it was influenced,” he told the committee.

You couldn't lie straight in bed, Guildford. Even if you were to be believed, and we were to accept that you honestly believe that, it makes you a disgrace to the uniform and a total liability due to extreme gullibility... 

Another Day, Another Murderous 'Child'...

Referring to what might have led to the death of Ms Bednarczyk, Mr Skinner added: 'The sad truth is we may never know - but we don't need to know - what brought about this situation.

'Difficult as it may be to accept, this killing is nothing to do with her (the girl's) mental health - as much as we all might want the comfort of seeking to say to ourselves that mental health and diminished responsibility explains what she did. 'Why do I say this? Because of the evidence of her premeditation – I have told you about the research she was doing - because of the evidence of her lies, and because of the evidence of respected and experienced medical professionals who say she did not have an abnormality of mental function which gives rise to the defence of diminished responsibility.

And yet, despite all this, she is still accorded accommodations due to her status as a 'child' by the justice system: 

Because of the girl's age, she is sat on the back row of the court benches accompanied by an intermediary and her social worker instead of in the glass-panelled dock. Neither judge Mrs Justice Tipples nor any of the barristers in the case are wearing gowns or wigs, and jurors have been told the sitting hours will mirror those of a school day.

But the odd part about this story is what happened after she was picked up by the police close to the ctime scene:

The teenager was taken to hospital, where she was seen smiling by a police officer and a nurse and did not appear to be 'confused or responding to voices telling her what to do', the court heard. Mr Skinner added that the girl asked for her mobile phone to be returned to her, and started sending text messages to her friends 'about what she said had happened'.

Isn't securing a suspect's phone SOP for police these days? Frankly this is the sole astounding thing about this story!  

So, They DO Believe In Something At Our Top Christian Site After All!

The Wind in the Willows is one of the most beloved books of British children’s literature, but while most people think of the jolly adventures of Toad, Mole and Rat, Kenneth Grahame’s 1908 story has a darker side. And it was a step too far for the Beadle security guards at Westminster Abbey, who told a visitor wearing a sweatshirt with an illustration from the book that she had to take it off because it was “an image of the devil”.

Reader, it wasn't any such thing!  

Chapter seven of the book is entitled Piper at the Gates of Dawn – borrowed by Pink Floyd for the title of their debut album in 1967 – in which the doughty animals encounter a variation of the Greek satyr-like god Pan while searching for Otter’s missing son. It was this image as envisaged by the artist W Graham Robertson for the cover of the first edition of the book that was used by folklore magazine Hellebore on its clothing and merchandise, and which Linsey Teggert – a self-confessed folklore fan and “history nerd” – was wearing on a visit to the abbey on Monday morning.

“We walked through the security scanner at the entrance but then one of the security guards called me back. I just thought he wanted to check my bag or something. “Then he said I’d have to take off the top or cover it up because it was an image of the devil and it might offend people in the abbey.”

If she had nothing but a bra undernreath would that not offend more people? 

Linsey argued that it wasn’t the devil, but a representation of Pan.

Foolish to try to argue theology with some minimum wage security drone - he doesn't have any autonomy, and probably comes from a culture alien to British folklore or Greek mythology - he likely has a list of 'offensive things' spelled out for him he can't - nd won't -  deviate from.

She said: “I started to tell him, because I’m a total history nerd, that there are loads of folklore and mythology-related carvings inside the abbey, and I was talking about the Green Man, but he wasn’t having it. He said: ‘Well, it’s got horns and it’s demonic.’

See? 

A spokesperson for Westminster Abbey said the abbey has a dress code that says: “As Westminster Abbey is a church and place of daily worship, we ask you to show respect and sensitivity in the way you dress.”

She added: “I think it’s possible that the message on the clothing was misinterpreted. We will share this feedback with our security colleagues.”

What's Wrong With Children In The UK?

A 17-year-old boy who filmed a 'hero' grandfather as he lay dying on the street before sharing the video on social media has avoided jail.

Is that even surprising anymore? And of course, it wasn't his sole transgression: 

The boy pleaded guilty to sending a grossly offensive, indecent or menacing message at Worthing Youth Court, West Sussex, yesterday. He also admitted possessing cannabis and was given a 12-month Youth Referral Order following the incident on Gladonian Road in Littlehampton, West Sussex.

This incident appears to be yet another case of killer 'children' (for that is how the justice system will treat them): 

Another 17-year-old boy, from Bognor Regis, has been charged with manslaughter. He is scheduled to appear in court again on October 6 for a pre-trial preparation hearing.

Meanwhile, elsewhere:

A 16-year-old girl and two boys, aged 14 and 15, have appeared in court charged with the murder of a man in a seaside resort. Kent Police were called to the Warden Bay Road area of Leysdown-on-Sea, on the Isle of Sheppey, shortly after 7pm on Sunday, following an altercation involving a small number of people.

Alexander Cashford, 49, was confirmed dead at the scene, with the force saying multiple injuries to his body were reported.

What the hell went wrong with our society? 

We Are No Longer A Serious Country....

 ... and we really haven't been for quite some time.

Police say the laborious recording of so-called Non-Crime Hate Incidents (NCHIs) continues despite a recent spike in crime.

At least 6,300 NCHIs were logged last year, according to a survey. The real total is likely to be far higher because 15 of the 44 forces in England and Wales failed to respond.

However, while police tackle NCHI red tape, 'headline' crimes such as theft, robbery, criminal damage, fraud, computer misuse and violence rose by 14 per cent in 2023 to 9.6million in 2024, according to the Office for National Statistics.

 And what sort of incidents are being dealt with under this useless legislation?

In one example, officers were called about a man heard singing the patriotic folk song Flower Of Scotland at an English railway station.

One householder complained after overhearing a neighbour insult her through her Ring video doorbell, while officers also recorded the incident of a caller adopting an Indian accent to order a takeaway curry.

 It would be funny if it wasn't taking up valuable police time.

Shadow justice minister Robert Jenrick told The Sun, which carried out the survey: 'This is crackers. We need to scrap NCHIs altogether.'

Oh, if only your party had ever been in power, eh, Robert? 

Never Mind, There's A Job For You In The Regular NHS, I'm Sure...

A prison nurse is angry at being struck off from the profession for 'not showing kindness' after telling an offender to 'get up' when she felt he was feigning injury.

Julie Abram, 63, said she was also criticised for calling the 'young lad' a prisoner and not a patient following the drama at Hull prison and believes she was sacked because she refused to 'mollycoddle' the criminals.

Ecxcept she wasn't sacked - she jumped before she could be pushed: 

She resigned after 22 years when told she faced disciplinary proceedings over the incident in 2021, when the prisoner tripped over a shoe in his cell on the sex offenders' wing in the category B jail.

She said she was stunned to learn this week that she had been banned from the nursing profession without her knowledge.

Probably wouldn't prevent her getting a job in your local hospital, where failing to show compassion is one of the Key Performance Indicators - if you're not a criminal, but just an ordinary taxpayer! 

Its Fitness to Practise Committee was told she exhibited a 'discriminatory' attitude towards prisoners, which was a 'deep-seated attitudinal issue'.

Ms Abram said: 'It seems you have to tuck the prisoners up in bed these days.'

Unfortunate choice of phrase.

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in Bradford after a number of males 'fought on the street with bladed weapons'.

Premeditated Excuses

An 87-year-old great-grandmother who died after being punched to the floor by a stranger at a train station in Birmingham had been trying to break up an argument at a Pret a Manger, MailOnline can reveal.

Dorothy Chiles suffered a broken hip and other injuries in the vicious assault at Birmingham New Street and passed away six weeks later.

The incident isn't recent, either... 

The horrifying incident actually happened on November 19 last year but only came to public attention after British Transport Police revealed earlier this week that Dorothy had died as a result of what they called an 'act of senseless violence'.

It happened after a row began when two strangers bumped into each other - and one made a racist remark, with Dorothy's only involvement as a would -be peacemaker. And one eyewitness to the attack said: 'The old lady was trying to calm her down but the woman just violently punched her. She was killed for her kindness.'

The 'Mail' has tracked down an eyewitness. 

A man who watched the entire episode unfold revealed: 'The older lady had approached the much younger white woman who was shouting and screaming at staff and customers in Pret. 'The woman was clearly very agitated and getting worse.

'She was shouting things about how she was autistic and saying that people were picking on her.

'As the older lady got closer to try and console her, the younger woman without warning spun around and knocked her backwards onto the floor.

'It was kind of a punch with a closed fist and it pushed her over.

'The older woman was left sprawled on the floor and train station staff and other commuters rushed to help her before she was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital in an ambulance.'

Another eyewitness gives an identical statement: 

'Other people started having a go at her about using racist language.

'This seemed to wind her up even more.

'She was shouting loudly and saying 'Why are you having a go at me? Why are you picking on me? I have autism'.

'As she got more and more angry and upset, that's when the older lady who was standing nearby came over I think intending to console her or calm her - but instead she was attacked for her kindness.'

It seems the brandishing of a diagnosis is now used to excuse the following actions. Because it works. 

Police say a woman in her 20s was initially arrested on suspicion of GBH but later held on suspicion of manslaughter and released on conditional bail pending further inquiries.

Who'd bet against her ever seeing the inside of a court? 

With Neighbours Like These, You Probably Should Expect It Any Day...

A teenage boy fled from his home screaming 'he's stabbed me' in a Christmas Day horror that left two women dead and another man hurt.

No, not inner London.  

Officers were called to a block of flats on Santa Cruz Avenue in Bletchley near Milton Keynes by residents after they heard screams and saw the teenager covered in blood run outside calling for help. One local told MailOnline: 'I heard screaming and shouting looked outside and the boy was outside saying ''he's stabbed me''. He was covered in blood and had wounds to his chest and head.

'There was a woman on the balcony screaming for help and saying she couldn't breathe and then the guy who did it ran out of the flats, got into his car and drove off but police were there within seconds and we told them where to go and he was caught.'

Another neighbour showed MailOnline CCTV footage of what looked like a white pit-bull limping away covered in blood and police later said the dog was taken to a vet but did not survive.

Block of flats, differing generations living together with unassociated people, family 'pet' is a pitbull and murderer's name not the same as anyone living there..? Yeah, the only surprise is this isn't a trailer park.  

He added:'It's not what you expect around here, it's pretty quiet and not what you expect on Christmas Day of all days. It's really knocked everyone because it is so quiet around here.'

I expect it was before people like this moved in, yes. But now they have, the place has gone to hell.  

We Have A Liar And A Coward For A Prime Minister…

Yesterday evening, on my way home from work, the news started to leak out…

The suspect in the Southport murders was today charged with making the deadly poison ricin. 

Axel Rudakubana, 18, has also been charged with having a study of a terrorist manual after one was found at his home, police said.

If there was any justice in this country, the lying bastard at No 10 would be thrown out of office and all those fast-tracked to prison on his say-so would be released immediately. Apart, of courge, for those for whom the truth has come far, far too late…

I have despised a few PMs in my time (Blair, Brown), I have had contempt for a few (May, Sunak) but I’ve never hated any - until now.

And how do the culprits in this disastrous government face up to the news? Simple. Keep denying reality.

No 10 says any suggestion of them withholding information is 'not correct', adding that their thoughts remain with the victims of the attack.

The police are no better: 

Yesterday, they said the events had still not been declared a terrorist incident because no motive had been established.

And Merseyside Police Chief Constable Serena Kennedy today insisted it was 'certainly not the case' that police were deciding to keep information from the public.

There Are Definitely Consistent Aspects To All These

A series of deeply violent, sinister murders and attacks carried out by children have hit the headlines in recent months. Last week, the 17-year-old boy who stalked and murdered schoolgirl Holly Newton, 15, was found guilty of murder in just the latest youth case to reach the courtroom. From the killing of Brianna Ghey by Scarlett Jenkinson and Eddie Ratcliffe to that of Shawn Seesahai by two unnamed 12-year-olds, some of Britain's most dreadful crimes have involved shockingly young perpetrators.

Can we find an expert to say that these murderers are the real victims? Reader, of course we can... 

MailOnline spoke to clinical and forensic psychologist and co-host of Locked-Up Living Dr Naomi Murphy about some of the most chilling crimes to go through the UK's courts in recent times. Dr Murphy, who has almost two decades of experience working with some of the country's most dangerous criminals, including teenagers convicted of murder, told MailOnline how those at the heart of such cases are often 'really damaged'.

*sighs* Of course, reading the article, there are other conclusions to draw. 

Just look at the names, where names are known:Bardia Shojaeifard,Cartel Bushnell,Yura Varybrus all sit among classic English names. And gang membership and 'revenge killings' stand out among the rest.

Im no clinical psychologist, so I'm not one to fail to notice what's staring me in the face... 

Change The Population, Change The Mood

Pride in Britain’s history has fallen sharply over the past decade as the country has become less nationalistic and jingoistic and more reflective about its place in the modern world, according to a leading barometer of the British public mood.

Is it still a barometer of the British mood, or is it merely reflective of the 'new Britons' that we've been importing in job lots over the last twenty years? 

Although Brexit and immigration have created flashpoints around national identity in recent years, the wider picture shows a more inclusive and self-critical sense of Britishness emerging and a decline in my-country-right-or-wrong views.

Perhaps because for many surveyed, they don't regard it as their country? 

There was a striking 22-point fall in the proportion of people saying they were proud of Britain’s history, from 86% to 64%, and a 13-point drop in those who said they would rather be a citizen of Britain than any other country, from 62% to 49%.

Is this merely reflective of the continual denigration of Britain and its history in schools and tv shows? 

There were also marked declines in the proportion of people expressing pride in Britain’s democracy, its economic achievements and its political influence in the world.
