I Wonder If It's The Right Question...?

Hmmm.

Is it 'Why was my son driving twice over the speed limit two-up on a motorbike with drugs and alcohol in his system and no crash helmet?' perchance?

No, of course not:
Denny’s mum, Sam Ramplin, questioned why the driver of the reversing car had not heard the motorbike approaching.
She said: “Why didn’t he hear the motorbike? We can hear them come, we have all got eyes and ears, we can all hear it.
“It’s one of my questions that will haunt me.”
We've all got brains as well. Some of us use them. Some clearly don't.
In a character reference read out by coroner Michelle Brown at the inquest yesterday, his family told of how many of his pals would look to Denny for advice and guidance, as despite his age, he was very mature.
Well, it is Canvey....

The Not-So-Merry-Go-Round...

Ricky Preddie was first released in September 2010, but recalled to custody in March 2011 after returning to Peckham from his west London bail hostel in breach of his licence conditions.
Then in October 2011 he beat up another prisoner, but a Parole Board hearing on December 23 decided he should be released on January 25, 2012.
He lasted just 16 days before being taken back to prison for again violating his parole by going to areas he was banned from and visiting friends from his old gang.
He was let out in July 2012, which means he has lasted just five months on early release before being hauled before the authorities again for handling stolen goods.
He was released after serving out every day of his eight-year sentence in 2013. Although the eight-year jail term was handed down in 2006, he had already served time behind bars on remand.
And what was the latest sentence?
Ricky Preddie, 32, also known as Ricky Johnson, is back behind bars after pleading guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, failing to stop, and driving without insurance at Harrow Crown Court on Thursday.
How long before he's out again? Taking bets now!

Pity...

In the footage, officers approach Fatunbi who leans out of a window. He appears to say a few words to the officers before leaning back inside. He then re-emerges with the gun that he points directly at the officer, who dives behind an awning for cover as the footage ends.
After this point, police entered the property and Fatunbi attempted to fire at the officers again who responded by shooting him four times in the torso and legs.
The officers - none of whom were injured in the attack - swiftly called for medical help and Fatunbi is recovering.
Damn! Now the British taxpayer has to pay to keep him behind bars for (maybe) twelve years...
Detective Superintendent Nick Thorburn said: 'They showed professionalism in the way they dealt with it and they showed compassion in saving a life after the event.'
For once, I'd have been happier if they'd shown a bit less professionalism.
He added: 'The people of London will sleep safer knowing Derrick Fatunbi is off the streets.
Yeah. It's not like there's no others like him out there, is it?

I'm Not Sure We Need To Be Concerned About Brain Damage...

Not for any of the parties involved, actually...
Two teenage boys suffered fractured skulls after "goading" a woman to drive off while they were sitting on the boot of her car.
Were they random yobs? Well, no:
The incident happened as Johns picked the boys up from a house in Gayton, after a camp out.
Prosecutor Eleanor Sheerin told the bench that the pair were sitting on the boot of the car after equipment had been put in it.
"They were goading Miss Johns into driving while they were on the boot of the car," she said.
"Miss Johns then did that, causing the boys to fall off. Both fractured their skulls. They also suffered significant cuts and bruises to other parts of the body."
She's clearly none too smart herself:
Johns also pleaded guilty to both obstructing and assaulting a police officer in a separate incident at her home on January 5. The court heard that an arrest of someone in the property was to be made over an arson incident. Johns refused to hand over a mobile phone, kicking out and making contact with an officer.
Lovely!

Post Title Of The Month

DumbJon makes it a hat trick by pointing out the laughable nature of the progressives' latest plan of attack:

Quote Of The Month

Hector Drummond sums up the implicit dangers of the Caroline Flack case:
"‘Depression’ and ‘vulnerability’ cannot be get-out-of-jail cards for criminal behaviour. If you’re so seriously mentally ill that you need to be institutionalised then, sure, the state shouldn’t proceed with the charges. But if you’re compos mentis and able to enjoy the other fruits of life then you can’t say that you shouldn’t have to face up to what you’ve done just because it might depress you. Who wouldn’t be depressed by having to face court? If we continue down this road then nobody will ever have to face court, because everyone can use this sort of defence."
And Al Jahom on the immutable laws of the human condition:
"As the multicultural experiment has proceeded, it has become increasingly obvious that we are not a melting pot. We are groupish. We like people like us. We glom together. White people like to live around and do business with whites. We trust our own more than we trust the other. Blacks with blacks, Muslims with Muslims, Jews with Jews etc.
It’s not a wish, but it is an observable reality of every city in every Western country. We can wish all we like that Blue Mink were right when they sung Melting Pot. But they were not. How ever hard we stir the pot and however much we heat it over, the ingredients won’t stay mixed."
