Oooh, We Haven't Had A MONA* Case For Ages...

And here's a great one. A carjacking on a lone woman:
...driving along Sandfield Road when she was rear-ended by three men in a Mercedes on Tuesday night.

As she got out of the car to exchange details with the driver and inspect the damage, two men leapt out of the car, one barged her out of the way and they got in her car.

The other man then let her go and jumped in the £30,000 BMW and drove off while his accomplice followed in the Mercedes.
The woman? Oh, Doreen Lawrence.

Yes, that Doreeen Lawrence...
Mrs Lawrence has since become a human rights campaigner, dedicated to fighting racial crime and police misconduct.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were alerted at 7.30pm on October 12 to reports of a collision between two cars in Sandfield Road, Thornton Heath.

“A woman driver was involved in a collision with another car when two males entered and drove the car away.”
Any description of the men, officer? No?

And if you are wondering why there's so few comments to this story (at time of writing, there's only one), it's because the moderators have zapped the 25 or so that were there yesterday. You can imagine why...

I was just reading about the SUS laws.

"This allows for a police officer to stop and search without suspicion in a designated area for a 24-hour period.

Currently, it does not give any ground for targeting a person on the basis of race.

But the Home Office’s suggested amendments to the guidance state that – while officers ‘must take particular care’ not to discriminate –

(Important bit)
....there ‘may be circumstances where it is appropriate for officers to take account of an individual’s ethnic origin in selecting persons and vehicles to be stopped’.

Presumably, that will get rid of MONA? One can now say "I saw a (insert description)....and they can target people matching that criteria?

'£30,000 BMW'

This human rights malarky seems to pay well.

There is no way to prevent the uncouth from shouting out "n*****s" but people of taste will maintain the appearance of not having a clue what is meant by the expression "Men Of No Particular Appearance".

Several states in the USA define killing a carjacker as justifiable homicide.

Not much carjacking in these areas.

Or the deterrents of choice of the south African suburbs, so I hear: either propane flamethrowers located below the door sills, with an ignite button on the dash, or, failing that, a bottle of brandy laced with cyanide left in the glove compartment. They might nick your car, but they won't have it long.

I suspect that the police are being very careful here. After all, Mrs L was part of the investigation that led to the 'institutionally racist' charge against the Met. Perhaps they are just being ultra-cautious about mentioning the race of the attackers, out of sensitivity to the victim. If that means they aren't caught, well - that's the price of non-discrimination.

The comment that has bizarrely been left is the one most people I have mentioned this to have responded with. Let's hope that the MPS via the taxpayer sorts Doreen out with a newer top of the range car ASAP, she might need her house redecorating again, it's been a while since the Met paid for that too. Maybe Nevill's been traumatised hearing about all this from his Jamaican house. Finally, let's hope that these 'bwa's' who failed to recognize the blessed Doreen are suitably punished and made to roll naked in broken glass up the Well Hall Road to the memorial before being hanged by the neck until........

I spotted this story and I read it a few times to see if Op Trident, which is usually a clue, got a mention.
Sue, despite what 'they' would have you believe, the so called 'sus' law was part of the Vagrancy Act, which came into force in the early1800s after the Napoleonic wars. It gave Police the power to arrest 'suspected persons or reputed thieves who were loitering with intent'. It was nothing to do with stop and search. The Sus law was replaced in 1981 by the Criminal Attempts Act

We'll see. I suspect not, though.

"This human rights malarky seems to pay well."

Indeed!

"Or the deterrents of choice of the south African suburbs, so I hear: either propane flamethrowers located below the door sills..."

Oh, yes. Seen video of that being deployed. WANT!

"The comment that has bizarrely been left is the one most people I have mentioned this to have responded with."

Oh, you should have seen the ones that were zapped!
