Pupils in Newham can now learn about responsible dog ownership thanks to a national charity.
The Dog’s Trust has appointed five new Education and Community Officers across the country - including Ruth Thomas, who has responsibility for six boroughs across east London.
Including Barking & Dagenham, whose
local paper published
exactly the same blurb, suitably amended for location…
Ruth and her two dogs, Fudge and Jasmine, will visit schools to promote safety around dogs and ensure children understand the responsibility of owning one.
Hmmm. I wonder when the first Muslim objections to dogs in the classroom will flood in?

There's a thought, get the kids to bring their dogs to school and drive off the ragheads, immigration problem solved!

Good idea that, except possible insurance problem- a teacher round our way brought her Husky in to school and it bit a pupil.
Are you sure this is true? Story about ridiculous scheme involving dogs that takes place in "Barking" and Dagenham?
Maybe a better idea would be an 'adopt a piglet' week in which every child can get hands on experience of where bacon comes from. Couple this with pork chops and/or bacon sandwiches for school lunch - a true learning experience for all.
Arabs used to have their Saluki hunting dogs in their tents. Perhaps I could have phrased that better.
