The mum of Mark Duggan says she has lost hope of getting “justice” for her son after the police watchdog refused to re-open the investigation into his death - on the tenth anniversary of his shooting.One less criminal on the streets. So, there's that, at least...
A 2015 ruling by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (now the IOPC) found Duggan was most likely shot while holding a gun that he was probably “in the process of throwing” away.
But this was challenged by Forensic Architecture (FA), a human rights research organisation based at Goldsmiths University in London.
FA concluded the IPCC’s finding as to how the firearm got to where it was discovered is not supported by their evidence. It said the force required by Duggan to throw the gun would have needed such a movement of his arm, while he was being shot, that V53 would not have failed to see it.
I think he was a bit busy gunning down a dangerous criminal at the time, though...
FA also said the police watchdog was wrong to dismiss the possibility that officers could have removed the gun from the minicab and placed it on the grass.
Why would they bother? Who really cared where he had the gun, the point was he had one...
Pam told the Mirror: “I feel really disgusted about it, I thought there may have been a chance.
“It’s a kick in the teeth for me at what is already an incredibly difficult time with the tenth anniversary approaching.”

I've normally little time for the police these days but this judgement is the right and proper result. Duggan was a dangerous criminal and there is ample evidence that he picked up a weapon and continued his journey in the cab. Like you Julia I've more sympathy for those who were dishomed, displaced and had their businesses destroyed by the thugs who used Duggan's death as an excuse to riot.
She seems to conveniently forget that another brother was convicted soon after first supplying the gun to this aspiring rapper/footballer/architect.

Let us not forget that we have far, far worse scum than Duggan in our midst. I refer of course, to those who are not fit to wear police uniforms; the scum who continue to meticulously plan 'there' murders, covering 'there' tracks and often aided by fellow scum, in a scandalous history of perverting justice.
Architect? I can't imagine any of these characters aspiring to do anything that is actually useful.
