But not the human rights of the UK people not to find themselves clutching a viper to their bosoms. The human rights of a suspected murderer who lied about his age to pose as a child asylum seeker.
Immigration minister Robert Jenrick replied: 'As you'll know sentencing is yet to take place, but we will be investigating the full circumstances surrounding the case so that we can ensure we learn all the lessons.
'One that we will certainly be taking forward is a more robust method for assessing the age of those coming into the country, taking advantage of modern scientific methods.'
Too little, far, far too late. This is yet another case where red flags were raised by members of the public and ignored.

I think a public hanging to encourage the others would be the best answer - in prison is 'out of sight out of mind. There should also be a public flogging for those that let this scum in.
Ivan, you are far too kind. The defence team should be publicly flogged as well, and they and the immigration officials made to pay compensation to the victim. Hanging is too good for him: I suggest the full traditional method of hang, draw and quarter, followed by shipping the bits back to where he came from and dropped from an aeroplane from a great height.
Freedom for the pike is death for the minnow.
The police and authorities 'missed' ... or 'ignored', there's a world of difference.

Spot on!

I suspect the latter, as 'too politically awkward and potentially career ending'.
