Funny Looking 'Jet', 'Daily Mail' Editor...

What exactly do you think that spinny thing on the nose is, an airconditioning fan?

Turboprop so yes it's a jet...

Turboprop - powered by a gas turbine but gains it's motive force from the propeller with little or no contribution from the exhaust so no, it's not a jet as such but neither is it a pure propeller plane either - more of a hybrid. Clue is in the name

The jet compressor provides the rotary energy through gearing, but the propeller blades provide the propulsion through interaction with air. The jet turbine replaces the traditional piston engine. So it isn't jet propelled, via the backward propulsion of high pressure exhaust gases from a jet engine. Semantics admittedly, but it clearly isn't 'jet propelled'.

Mmm, jury's still out, I think!

"...more of a hybrid. Clue is in the name"

Indeed!

"Semantics admittedly, but it clearly isn't 'jet propelled'."

We have a winner!
