Well, Of Course He Did...

Michael Bogle, 38, from Brent, who was assessed as a “high risk offender”, was captured on CCTV stealing from two supermarkets in north west London within 24 hours of being freed last Thursday from HMP Wandsworth.

Who’s surprised by this turn of events?

He reportedly had 16 previous convictions and to have been linked to more than 100 investigations.

Definitely someone who should have been kept behind bars.

Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams, borough commander for Barnet, Brent and Harrow was so concerned about the case that he has raised the matter with local MPs and councillors.

Why? What can they do..? It’s Andy Burnham’s policy, not some local decision! The scofflaw even had the nerve to thank him for the chance to go robbing agin!

Bogle was released from the south west London prison last Thursday where he had served 78 days in prison after breaching a 32-week suspended sentence for shoplifting.Asked at the time for his message to Andy Burnham, Bogle said: “Keep the early release going. It’s good.”
DCS Williams added: “The concerning nature of the Early Release Scheme in this case was a known prolific offender being put back into the community, only to immediately re-offend. “Not only does this place communities at risk but puts demand straight back into policing who must arrest, investigate and put the individual into custody. “In this case, 27 officer hours were needed, leading to a cost of £1,887.”

But it’s only taxpayer  money, Luke!

... but surely that's cheaper than keeping him in prison!

So an officer hour is £69.88? That's good to know! Next time you see one, or more likely six, blocking off a road because there's a y in the day... well, you'll be able to see that as good value for money won't you?

It has been suggested that one way of stopping, or reducing crime is to make prison conditions such that they act as a true deterrent. During my military years, I never met anyone who had served time in a military prison willing to risk going back. No privileges at all at the beginning of the sentence. That is the punishment for the crime. Gradual privileges given subject to behaviour, until the stage is reached where rehabilitation can begin in earnest. Until we leave it, the bleats about supposed breaches of the ECHR, can be challenged with the rights of citizens not to be subjected to crime. Every prison cell should have Newton's third law, also known as the Law of unintended consequences, embedded in the wall. Alternatively we could dig up the remains of Vlad the Impaler, use DNA to clone him, and make him Home Secretary. Just a thought.

Deduct 11% of that £69.88 for pension contributions. Deduct another 20% or so for national insurance and income tax, and then ask yourself would you be willing to work shifts of nights, lates, and earlies, irrespective of the weather, for what sum is left. Add the restrictions on your private life; constant wind ups from morons calling themselves 'auditors' in order to show the Police in a bad light, just so they can get 'Likes' from other morons on their YouTube channel; Constant fear that your family may be targeted because you arrested someone. The list goes on. I hope it never happens to you, but if you are ever involved in a serious road traffic collision, with you or your family being injured or worse, just be grateful that that 'six' are blocking the road to preserve evidence or in order to prevent possible further deaths or injuries. I did that for over 20 years. Sometimes we received measures of appreciation, but also whinges because someone had been delayed over a death further down the road.

Meanwhile in Brent Harrow and Barnet, there isn't a single 24hr police station open. Wembley closes at 10pm presumably because due to the European Working Time Directive criminals are forbidden from offending outside designated working hours.
The level and quality of policing, is absolute shite. No regular foot patrols, gangs of scum hacking at eachother in Wembley, the Paliwankers chanting their hate in Harrow. Only about 1250 warranted officers for the entire three boroughs with a population over a million. Shoplifting is endemic with staff being sacked for tackling thieves. Plenty of resources for going after hurty-words though.
The fish rots from the head down, staring with Shite-of-the-Realm Commissioner Rowley and his boss Mayor Sir Lord King Caliph-wannabe Emperor Khanage who sets the agenda and is effectively unaccountable as set up by Tony bloody Blair.

Prison is where he belongs no matter what it costs!

Considering the alternative, I’d have to admit it is!

We regularly see articles in the ‘Guardian’ bemoaning the state of civilianprisons, but it doesn’t seem to keep people out!

I agree with every word of this!
