What Happenred To Journalism..?

Yes, this is the BBC, the organisation that will refer unashamedly to a woman (without qualification that they are actually a man larping in womanface), putting inverted commas around the words terror charge, as if that wasn't exactly what it is....

No longer content to report the news, now they openly seek to manipulate it.

A Likely Story

The former deputy police and crime commissioner for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland accepted responsibility for the posts - but did not agree they would make people think he was biased as a magistrate, the Telegraph reported. He said he did not refer to his judicial role in any of the posts, adding he takes his work very seriously and would never consciously let his opinions affect it.

Sure, sure, and the cheque is in the post....

But an investigation found that posting on a 'politically sensitive' matter meant Mr Master had not lived up to the expectations that came with his position. It also found the magistrate had never before been involved in misconduct investigations, 'accepted responsibility for his actions' and 'agreed to reflect' on them. Social media guidance for the judiciary says judicial office holders should be aware of the risk of undermining trust and confidence in the judiciary by expressing, or appearing to endorse, views which could cast doubt on their objectivity. It also says they should also not comment on matters of controversy.

So, should he no longer be a magistrate? Oh, of course not! A few words of censure will get him back on track, won't it?

A JCIO spokesperson said of the investigation conducted by the Midlands Conduct Advisory Committee: 'Mr Justice Keehan and the Lord Chancellor agreed with the findings and issued Mr Master with formal advice. 'In making this decision, they took into consideration that Mr Master had no previous findings of misconduct against him, had accepted responsibility for his actions and agreed to reflect on the consequences of what he'd done.'

Said reflection no doubt consisting of 'Well, I got away with that!'

If It's Too Early To Lay Blame, It's Surely Too Early To 'Console'...

After the Challenger space shuttle disaster, Ronald Reagan ended an Oval Office address with the consoling thought that its crew had slipped the surly bonds of earth to touch the face of God. Successors such as Bill Clinton, Barack Obama and Joe Biden also shone in the crucial US presidential role of consoler-in-chief.

But that was then, this is now. And that’s why a ‘Guardian’ columnist is speaking favourably of ol’ Ronnie.

How would Donald Trump fare in his first test since returning to the White House?

You just know he's itching to write his foregone conclusion, no matter what, don't you? After all, this is a 'Guardian' column.

In grave, mellow tones, Trump did the things that heads of state are supposed to do, acknowledging an “hour of anguish” for the nation, paying tribute to emergency rescue workers and offering solace that the victims’s journey ended in “the warm embrace of a loving God”.

But...but...

Did he leave it there, channeling the sombre mood, fading with dignity into the background and handing over to experts who know what they are talking about? Are you kidding? This is Trump. He went on, ominously revealing that he had “strong opinions” on the collision (never mind the facts). With aggression creeping into his voice, Trump pivoted to an all-out attack on his Democratic predecessors and blame the accident on policies of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

But if it's too early to lay blame, isn't it also too early to 'reassure' the nation? And after all, didn't NASA incompetence and carelessness cause the deaths of those astronauts?

Do we know that the policy of DEI didn't play a part? After all, the helo wasn't following the flight plan it was supposed to. The ATC didn't notice this. No-one did anything to prevent the collision.

Trump claimed Obama had pushed “mediocre” standards for air traffic controllers, a job that requires “superior intelligence”, but Trump had raised them during his first term. “When I left office and Biden took over, he changed them back to lower than ever before.”

And indeed, there's a class action lawsuit ongoing regarding these wretched Biden era standards that focussed on everything but competence at the job.

Last week Trump signed an executive order restoring his standards. He explained: “We have to have our smartest people. It doesn’t matter what they look like, how they speak, who they are. It matters intellect, talent – the word talent, you have to be talented, naturally talented genius. You can’t have regular people doing that job.” It’s almost as if you need a master race.

If you want to stop aircraft parts raining from the sky on a regular basis, maybe you do....

Certain About One...

...but not the other? Why else the use of inverted commas?

Pro-Putin and Tommy Robinson-aligned group 'Patriots for Britain' held an anti-immigration march at Parliament Square from midday. Anti-fascists (known as 'Antifa'), meanwhile, gathered at nearby Marsham Street to protest at the Home Office just yards away.

And now it's reversed!

McGinnis tweeted last week: 'The Globalist banks are dragging us into a war with Russia.' His group, which also has links to Britain First, supports withdrawing from the 1951 Refugee Convention.

So what?

NHP supports imprisoning illegal immigrants for three years and removing migrants from social housing waiting lists.
Both proposals are violations of the Refugee Convention, the Human Rights Act and the European Convention on Human Rights, which was written in part by Churchill himself.

Again, so what? When that was drawn up, the world was a vastly different place. Why must this remain in aspic, preserved forever, when other legislation is being torn up willy-nilly around the world?

Yes, Andrew's Really Doing That....

...and he's doing it splendidly!

'Are you really denying what I just said about British colonialism?' an exasperated Velshi asked his guest. 'Andrew, are you really doing that?'

You bet he is!

As Roberts continues to say the UK abolished slavery more than 30 years before the United States did, Velshi seems to become more upset telling him: 'Andrew this is not a propaganda show,' and 'Andrew I need you to stop!
'I need you to stop for a second,' he interrupts his guest. 'Are you really taking issue with the horrors of colonialism?' he asks, to which Roberts replies: 'I'm taking issue with your remarks about slavery, which we abolished 32 years before you did. 'We didn't have to kill 600,000 people in a civil war over it,' he added.

Boom!

But Velshi was not giving up.

Bitter, and ignorant, and not aware when he's been totally bested. Boy, can MSNBC pick 'em!

'So you think that that's fine, that there are people all over the world who are born in colonial countries?' he asked. 'Because when I was born, the British Empire still existed. 'And that's OK for everybody to say.'
Roberts, though, asked Velshi which country he was born in, and when Velshi said he was born in Kenya, Roberts noted that 'the Kenyans not only supported the appointment of Prince Charles, now King Charles, as the head of the Commonwealth, we've [also] just had a fantastic statement from the president of Kenya saying what a wonderful thing —' Velshi then interrupted to note that President Biden is also going to the Queen's funeral, to which Roberts asked: 'Then why on Earth do you want to concentrate on the only negative things of an institution, which is 100 years ago now?'

TKO! That's what it is to get schooled on national tv!

He went on to interview chip-on-the-shoulder 'academics' like Kehinde Andrews, who told him what he wanted to hear. Bet he wished he'd only had him on...
