Essex Police has paused the use of live facial recognition cameras (LFR) after a study found they identified more black people than other ethnic groups.

Identified them incorrectly? No, dear Reader, not at all: 

The cameras are mounted on vans and designed to identify people on watchlists if they pass by.They found it correctly identified around half of those on the watchlist, and that it was "extremely rare" for someone to be flagged up if they weren't on the list.

So, it worked. The only problem was, it highlighted how many criminals are black. and in today's modern police farce, that's a crime in itself. 

But the study found it was "statistically significantly more likely" to correctly identify black people than other ethnicities. It was also "more likely" to spot men than women.

Well, these days, so many men are pretending to be women, its hardly a surprise!

Film actor Robert De Niro was scheduled to accept a leadership award from the National Association of Broadcasters, but the group has rescinded the award after the celebrity spoke out against Donald Trump outside his criminal trial in New York this week, the Hill and the Huffington Post report.

Whoops! Consequences rarely visit Hollywood's Golden Boys and Girls!  

A spokesperson for the group told The Hill on Thursday that their event was “proudly bipartisan” and said: “While we strongly support the right of every American to exercise free speech and participate in civic engagement, it is clear that Mr. De Niro’s recent high-profile activities will create a distraction from the philanthropic work that we were hoping to recognize. To maintain the focus on service of the award winners, Mr. De Niro will no longer be attending the event.”

And did he have anything to say for himself? 

In a statement to the Hill, De Niro did not protest the decision, and said he continued to appreciate the group.

Heh! He's expecting the award in the future when the fuss gies down. How brave.  

In his most biting comments, De Niro spoke of Trump through the lens of the largely Democratic city whose voters know Trump well and roundly rejected him at the polls. “We New Yorkers used to tolerate him when he was just another grubby real estate hustler masquerading as a big shot, a two-bit playboy lying his way into the tabloids,” he said. “A clown ... No one took him seriously. They take him seriously now.”

And he's now got a bigger chance of winning, thanks to the overreach of liberal morons like you, Bob. 

New York Dog Parks Are Clearly Dangerous Places...

A New Yorker police say is the man filmed attacking an 11 year-old girl in a dog park used to work for a non-profit that helps traumatized children.

So, was he drumming up custom? Why else attack a child unprovoked? 

It was unprovoked, wasn't it?

In the video, a dog owner believed to be DiRenzo and two other dog walkers were seen yelling at the children and their school chaperone at Stuyvesant Square between the intersection of East 16th Street and Perlman Place.

The school children had been throwing dirt and poppers on the ground at the park before the three dog walkers began to intervene.

Oh... 

The cellphone video had captured the beginning of the incident where the three dog walkers were screaming at the children who continued to throw dirt at them.

It was not long before the male dog walker, sporting a beard and sunglasses, then approached a gate. 'All your kids are throwing f**king dirt and f**king poppers!' DiRenzo allegedly yelled at the chaperone.

'We’ve already had to call 911 on them. Grip her the f**k up before I put my hands on her.'

I guess their behaviour explains why they need a 'chaperone' at the park. Does he act?  

The chaperone then attempted to get the children out of the dispute and back to the school building before the situation escalated further.

'What school do they go to? They’re psychos,' the other male dog walker had asked.

DiRenzo then allegedly added that the chaperone was an 'embarrassment' for his lack of control over the rowdy students. The 11-year-old girl then marched towards the suspect before he viciously began attacking her in front of her classmates.

'You fat little bi**h you’re not going to amount to anything in life,' DiRenzo had yelled at her before the attack.

He then began punching her in the face, spraying her with water and even grabbing her by the hair in anger. The girl's 15-year-old male friend was also hit when he attempted to stop the fight.

Despite the fact that the 'children' instigated the whole thing, bystanders are shocked, shocked and appalled. 

Other onlookers and dog walkers were in complete shock as they witnessed the horrifying incident.

'I hope they find this man,' a witness named Rachel said on Friday, before DiRenzo was apprehended.

'This man grabbed her by the neck, her chest, and punched her in the head. Eleven-year-old black young girl. This is not normal. He's dangerous.'

I'm reminded of another famous incident in a New York park that wasn't quite as cut and dried as it seemed initially... 

It Seems The Labour Party Just Admitted It Lies On Its Campaign Literature...

...not that we didn't already suspect that, mind you!

A Labour MP has apologised for handing out campaign leaflets promising would-be voters that her party would 'deal with Traveller incursions.'

Oh, really? 

Shadow women and equalities minister Charlotte Nichols had been delivering leaflets for the Party ahead of local elections in the Orford area of her constituency. Among the promises listed on the leaflet which featured the Labour Party's logo was a pledge to 'deal with Traveller incursions,' causing widespread anger among residents and on social media.

Not, presumably, the residents fed up with the mess and crimr associated with illegal encampments? 

Certainly, plenty of the wooly-minded keyboard warriors - like this idiot - weighed in: 

She later apologised in a statement for the 'hurt caused' among the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller (GRT) communities, assuring people it was not in line with her personal views, or that of the party.

So your party won't deal witth traveller incusions?  But will promise to on its campaign literature in order to garner votes? I can't see any other way to interpret this...

In an earlier statement following outrage on social media over the leaflet, she said she had not been aware of the 'problematic definition' of incursions, which means a sudden invasion or attack.

A 'sudden invasion' is exactly what they are, and you know it.

Expecting Networks To Give Up Ratings Is Like Expecting Alcoholics To Give Up Booze...

Emily Bell thinks that the US TV networks should have refused to air a speech by The Donald:

The inability of 11 separate network heads to say “no” to Trump caused frustration on a number of levels. It was yet another sign, said some commentators, of the networks not “getting it”, following the normal rules of engagement with a presidency that is abnormal to the point of dysfunction.

Because having a President that screwed the help in the Oval Office wasn't at all 'dysfunctional'..?

Allowing a president noted for his untruthfulness access to their networks arguably put protocol above national interest, or perhaps, more honestly, prioritised ratings over principle.

Funny. I've visited the States, and every TV I saw there had an 'off' switch.

It was ten years ago, though. Perhaps things have changed?

The speech and an accompanying rebuttal by Democrat leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer were seen by more than 43 million viewers. Trump remains strong box office.

She blames social services for removing parents’ power to discipline their children in the way they see fit to set them on the best path in life, and believes that black boys from immigrant families are particularly aware of this.

“After that I felt myself like I’d lost control,” she said of her own encounter with social workers.

“Because my daughter she knows that I can’t do anything. Even Champion, he used to take the phone and say ‘We’ll call social services’.

“The black boys in this country they know they’ve got power with social services. They don’t listen to their parents no more, they’re not even scared of police.”

Feels like I've been pointing this out for some time.

Champion’s killer, who was aged 17 when he carried out the brutal attack, was jailed for 14 years in March after being cleared of murder but found guilty of manslaughter.

Asked whether she would like to meet her son’s killer, Peguy said: “The only time you can want to meet someone is when the person knows what he’s done. You cannot meet someone who is going to laugh in your face, because they were laughing at me in court.”

It's hardly surprising...

She accused the courts of heeding the human rights of offenders who carry out knife crime but not the victims who lose their lives.

And Peguy says prisons should be prisons and not the “holiday homes” she believes they are now “where kids have got a phone, are on YouTube and Facebook, are sending messages to their family anytime they want”.

The Camera Never Lies...

PC Patterson, wearing his work uniform, did not speak at the hearing.

He did, in his statement of the arrest, admit punching the boy with a closed fist and applying pressure, multiple times, behind his right ear.

The defence claimed the boy was “extremely hard to control” which is why PC Patterson believed his actions were appropriate. The father was “not overly concerned” about his son’s behaviour despite calling 999, the panel was told.

This would normally be a cause celebre in the local newspaper, cries of 'police brutality!' from the usual suspects, but for an amazing modern twist:

However, the defence claimed the father “presented himself very differently” on the body-worn camera.

They say the teenager’s dad acts like “someone who is terrified” of the behaviour of his own child.

The use of the word 'child' there is willful obfuscation on the part of the reporter, I suspect. The image it conjures up will play no part in the reality facing the cops.

The hearing has been adjourned until April so the panel can hear evidence from PC Patterson’s two colleagues who were with him at the scene - one of which caught some of it on their body-worn camera.

The usual suspects might have cause to regret their demands for more cameras, once juries get a glimpse of what these 'children' are really like...
