Normal Service Will Resume Tomorrow...

...today we mourn yet more victims of a terrorist atrocity. One I was totally unaware of, as I went to bed early and didn't check my phone until I got up at 5:00 and idly flicked on FaceBook, and wondered why it was asking if I wanted to let friends know I was safe, as I was 'near the Attack'.

'Stupid software!', I thought 'I'm nowhere near Manchester, and you're over a week late!' Then I had a horrible thought, and checked Twitter. And found out.

How many more? There are calls for the General Election to be suspended, calls from the usual suspects, of course. The ones who will also tell you this is 'nothing to do with Islam', as the body count mounts and SAS helicopters buzz over London and streets are closed and we are urged to 'remain calm' as the authorities try to work out what's happened.

I think we all know by now what's happened. But what do we do about it? That's the real question, isn't it?

I just hope the police and security services respond in their usual efficient manner and devote sufficient resources to logging as a matter of priority the complaints from people offended by something Katie Hopkins has posted.

Oi you said...

I would like our politicians to actually admit that they're love of diversity and multiculturalism has helped bring this about.

I fear that the mood on the ground is changing, and changing faster than the politicians can ever know.
I work in a Builder's Merchants and we are open on a Sunday so that the builders, working men and hard men, can get their stuff ready for an early Monday start. Usually there's quick, friendly banter but not today. There was a much more sombre mood. Rather than a few friendly words being exchanged the men were gathering in small groups, talking in subdued tones. The gist of the conversations I overheard were very much in line with an article which Katie Hopkins wrote after the last London Bridge attack.
The general agreement was that lighted candles, bunches of flowers and minutes of silence were not the answer to what had happened just hours before in London. The general consensus was "We've got to do summat. We've got to fight back." At present this is just talk, but I fear that this sort of talk is going to lead to some sort of reaction which will not be a rendition of Kumbyah, it will involve these same working men, these hard men, and it won't be gentle.
What I saw and heard this morning reminded me of a poem I've read. It's a poem about the '14-'18 War. It still applies. Here it is:-

It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late
With long arrears to make good,
When the English began to hate.

They were not easily moved,
They were icy-willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the English began to hate.

Their voices were even and low,
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show,
When the English began to hate.

It was not preached to the crowd,
It was not taught by the State.
No man spoke it aloud,
When the English began to hate.

It was not suddenly bred,
It will not swiftly abate,
Through the chill years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the English began to hate.

You fear? Why?

I'm pleased to hear that others in UK are at last concluding Gov't defence of, appeasement and subservience to RoP worshippers is wrong. We need to defend ourselves and remove these evil losers from our country.

There is more terrorism in the news, this time in London. So how do the British politicians respond?

They do a recruitment ad for more terrorists...

Try defending yourself and your government will clap you in jail. Probably for "racism".

Until every Imam in the country declares a fatwa on these murdering pigshit, then I shall continue to believe, despite what citizen Khan says, that all Muslims are putting their belief in their cult before any feelings for the rest of us. Meanwhile, ask any Muslim who publicly decries these acts, what 'taqiyya' means?

Opinion on this one sought.

Two relevant facts: the assailant (apparently a stranger) is described as a large black man, and the attack involved a punch and face slashing.

Now, it might be someone off their head on drugs, but Newmarket is generally a very quiet place. Attacks might happen as a result of people who know each other getting in to a temper but this appears to be a random attack focused on a lone female.

It could be just nasty, but could it be a jihadi seeing if he can get away with it?

Any thoughts?

You weren't wrong, were you..? *sighs*

"I fear that the mood on the ground is changing, and changing faster than the politicians can ever know."

Maybe. But as the election result showed, it's an uphill battle, and we don't even have the summit in view.

"Try defending yourself and your government will clap you in jail. Probably for "racism"."

Given the hysteria over bacon left on cars near a mosque, I can only agree.

"Until every Imam in the country declares a fatwa on these murdering pigshit, then I shall continue to believe, despite what citizen Khan says, that all Muslims are putting their belief in their cult before any feelings for the rest of us. "

It's somewhat heartening that they've refused to perform funeral rites for the dead murderers.

"It could be just nasty, but could it be a jihadi seeing if he can get away with it? "

I think we'll see a lot more of these, 'explained' as gang violence. There was a report on Aveley just yesterday with 'Asian' men running around with machetes. But it's OK! Essex Police say it wasn't terrorism...
