A Humberside Police spokeswoman said: "A phone call was made to the complainant by Inspector Wilson to update him on his complaint to the Force, which is standard procedure."Yeah, I have to agree love, it does indeed seem to be 'standard procedure' in all police farces that when you're in a hole, you call for a mechanical digger to get you deeper even faster...
Quite!Orwellian double speak at its finest. This is @Humberbeat’s official response. ‘We didn’t say you couldn’t... we just asked ‘why would you?’— Harry The Owl - Limerick Criminal (@HarryTheOwl) March 27, 2019
Sorry, but this is gaslighting. I’m not daft. pic.twitter.com/BxznfjaEKO
"There was never any suggestion he shouldn’t engage in politics or debate around the subject in question, he was just asked why he would want to, knowing it would cause distress and upset to others in society."So, there you have it. The modern police farce fails at everything from petty crime to dangerous dogs, but when it comes to hurty feels, an Inspector calls!
And makes an even bigger arse of himself.
"The complainant was also advised if he felt his Human Rights had been breached, he may want to seek legal advice."Translation: "We don't care if we get sued, the taxpayer's on the hook for it anyway..."

The purpose of a debate, whether on twatter, farcebook, blog, or n a public meeting, is to exchange different views. If anyone finds a view different to theirs, and claims to be offended, it's because THEY CHOOSE to he offended. I disagree with anyone spouting the 'benefits' of the Frankfurt School of Marxism, or the advantages of a Naziesque regime, but I'm not offended by anyone supporting those views. I recently asked a young man wearing a T shirt with an image of Che Guevara on the front why he would wear one showing the face of a raping, torturing, murderer. We had a (polite) discussion about Ernesto and while I disagreed about his support of the legend, I was not offended by his lack of knowledge of the facts about him, because I CHOSE not to be offended.
If any social media conversation or public debate does not contain anything libellous, or criminal, then it should be of no concern of the Police.
In my shed, I have an old toilet seat over a well used dart board. The photo in that toilet seat is of the worst Home Secretary and one of the worst Prime Ministers in post war history (a lecture on ethics by Cherie Blair if you can guess who it is). If that offends anyone, you know what the non emergency number for the Police is.
