One Of Our Aircraft Is Missing!

Hmmm. Perhaps the MoD should concentrate a bit more on flight mechanics and less on 'trans issues'?

Regular contributor i.r.jackson writes:
'...the BBC quotes the MOD stated price of £92M - this was bare bones - i.e. no electronics etc, so is likely 50% low (as usual), ignoring our contribution to the development, but maybe that is why it couldn't keep flying - hand signals only!
You really would think they would be more careful with such rare items (we did have 8). At this rate, we really will be able to call it The aircraft carrier.'

Indeed!

It was alleged that an engine inlet cover wasn't removed before the jet was cleared for take off. If true, it reveals a staggering lack of organisation - the military are well known for doing everything "By The Book".

Engine inlet cover forgotten to be removed. We'll have plenty of these simple mistakes in the future as the IQ's are getting lower. Think about bridges, high rise buildings, etc.

It did not crash. It moved slowly up the ski jump and tell off the end. Splash. Oops.
Then the ship ran over it.
Pilot, obviously a canny man, half expecting this took a millisecond do make a decision and pulled the handle.
Don't pilots wander round their aircraft waggling things, looking into holes etc, before lighting the fire anymore
The 92 million squids is that 'plane's value now.
The sole purpose of the £3 million aircraft carrier, followed by a fleet of refuellers, is to carry these 8, sorry, 7, £120 million jets to where they can impress the locals.
No doubt the locals will be mocking our Naval heroes by waving orange plastic dust bin lids at them.
That noise you hear is Nelson spinning.

That 'long march through the institutions' again?

"We'll have plenty of these simple mistakes in the future as the IQ's are getting lower."

Don't forget that as well as general dumbing down, there's the pressure to recruit for factors other than competence...

Even Maverick kicked the tyres first!
