You could always use the resources that you do have more efficiently?

This call was always a matter for the NHS, also under resourced. Nothing to do with the police. Criminal law enforcement is not the correct reason ego a medical emergency.
The idea of clearing out mental hospitals and pretending that “care in the community” would be a good substitute was a fundamentally flawed policy. I dread to think how many lives have been lost because NHS leaders decided to cut costs.

Yes on the first part, no on the second. They aren't short of resources, they simply use what they are given on all the wrong things!
