Maybe Ask Why It's A Community That Requires This Type Of 'Engagement'..?

Five cops stop a black motorist and beat him to death. And they are all themselves black.
However, Davis said the fact the officers are Black “takes off the table that issues and problems in law enforcement [are] about race”. “It is not,” she said. “It’s about human dignity, integrity, accountability and the duty to protect our community.”
But she added: “It does indicate to me that bias might be a factor also in the manner in which we engage the community.

Why would five cops decide that this was a good way to handle a simple traffic stop? Is anyone even asking this question?

I think we need more information on the guy that was killed first. Was he an habitual crim that had overstepped the mark and got away with it citing his colour for example.

Well, yes, but only us dreadful far right extremists. Your average journalist most certainly must not, because the narrative is already in enough trouble on this one with the bit about the cops being black themselves.

Of course, the verbal gymnastics being used in the attempt to blame racism anyway are rather amusing.

I was surprised that all the Police Officers apparently responsible are black. One thing that has really disturbed me is the release of the video to the press. It should not have been shown until after the trial. There is no way that any juror can enter the court room without having been influenced by the footage.

Because it's America. Audit the Audit has plenty of videos of US cops behaving badly, just making up laws as they go along and arresting people for no good reason. So this escalation comes as no great surprise. If you think our plod are bad, they have it much worse.

Two points.
It's hilarious to see the usual race-warriors twisting and turning trying to put a racial slant on this story even though ALL the policemen are black. Like twisty turny things.

Secondly, perhaps by releasing the footage and sacking the officers before trial the police department have deliberately poisoned the case so they don't have such a big pay out to the victims family.

Jaded.

They certainly are!

"One thing that has really disturbed me is the release of the video to the press. It should not have been shown until after the trial."

To paraphrase Longrider, 'Forget it, johnd2008, it's America'...

"...deliberately poisoned the case so they don't have such a big pay out to the victims family."

Not sure that's going to work in such a rapaciously litigious society.

"Rotten from bottom to top; either side of the Atlantic and any colour you like."

I don't normally agree with such hyperbole, but...
