So What, Chris..?

A meeting of the North Wales Police and Crime Panel heard the area had 37,684 firearms and shotguns linked to just 12,354 licences. It means one person could have "a small arsenal" warned Flintshire councillor Chris Bithell.
They can still only fire one at a time, possibly two if they are really good...
Andy Dunbobbin added police were currently bound by the law, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS).
As they should be. The law is sensible and allows people who properly hold a licence to have more than one item, and that's as it should be. Why not?
"A certificate can cover one weapon. [But] there's no maximum or minimum," said Mr Bithell, who is Flintshire's cabinet member for public health.
"I think that should cause some alarm," he said, "because although the owners of these guns... may well be bona fide people, farmers and so on, who use them very legitimately.
"The danger is break-ins and then these weapons get into the wrong hands."
"I think it should be raised nationally," he added. "I think it should be one certificate per weapon really so we can keep some sort of grip on this.
"You are talking about 37,000 plus weapons in the north Wales area, and that's a matter of some concern."

I can't really say I'm concerned. And not just because I don't - thankfully - live in Wales.

You Allowed, Nay, Encouraged, Them To Take An Inch...

...why the surprise when they come back for the mile?
A woman was left 'dumbstruck' after a pharmacy assistant told her she couldn't buy a pregnancy test because it is 'not an essential item' and she 'shouldn't be trying to conceive' amid the coronavirus pandemic.
What did you think would happen when you demanded they start meddling in things like this? Did you think they'd stop at telling people to stub out those fags?
In a later post, the woman, who decided to order a pregnancy test from Amazon, went on to say how she had since called the pharmacy to complain.
However, she believed it was the same assistant who answered the phone due to the 'sound of her voice'.
And when the customer asked to speak to the manager, the staff member said he wasn't there and they were unable to call her back.
Gosh, and I thought they were all supposed to be 'community-focussed' now...

"Please Put Me Out Of A Job!"

Something that's becoming far more evident in these sad times is that it's not just the paid government shills that want a job deciding for others how they should spend their money, or indeed their lives:
A courier has begged Brits to stop ordering 'tat' online during the coronavirus crisis, after claiming she is having to deliver more non-essential parcels than ever before.
The self-employed delivery driver, 40, recently shared an image of a pile of 120 packages she was required to take to a single housing estate in Bury, Greater Manchester.
She's getting out of the house and working, classed as a 'front line service' and....she's complaining? There's a lot of people who'd like to be in your shoes right now, love!
She claims this is far more parcels than she was delivering on a standard day before the Covid-19 lockdown and has slammed people using their time at home to go on web spending sprees.
What, exactly, are they supposed to do? They can't go to the shops, can they?
'I've delivered Superdrug packages which I'm sure are full of handwash, and educational items from places like The Works - all that is totally fair enough.'
Oh, how magnanimous of you! I didn't realise we'd elected you The Arbiter Of Value, I must have missed a memo.
'But when people are ordering clothes online, that is madness. I don't understand where they're going in this stuff anyway at the moment?'
Probably nowhere. Perhaps they are reordering their wardrobe for when the lockdown lifts. But there's one far more important question: What the hell business is it of yours!?
'The worst thing is, I have to go back to the same homes three days later to pick up the items when people decide they want to return them anyway.
'Shoppers are not thinking about the impact they are having.'
Are you thinking about the impact you're having, unnamed delivery driver? By setting yourself up as arbiter of what other people can spend their money on?

And then, there's Danny:

Danny is an idiot. Don't be like Danny...

Moving Pictures...

Laureen Shaw, councillor for Roche North and Rural, asked whether members of the Rayleigh speedwatch group could pass on details of motorists using their mobile phones so police could send out a warning letter.
Well, why not? It does seem as though it's considered useful in other initiatives.
She said: “I have been advised that we can’t take the registration numbers because there is no video to prove it. Is there any way you could send a letter to say ‘stop it’?”
Wait, what? Not because of privacy and data protection, then?
Mr Westley said he would look into whether the force would be allowed to send the letters.
Shouldn't he know?
