'Mum Of The Year' Award Is Looking Good For 2022...

Theresa Carroll, 39, has been given a restraining daughter (sic) against her 19-year-old daughter, Chantelle, after she grabbed her by the hair and punched her in the face.
The pair got into an argument after the teenager objected to her mum inviting friends to their Bollington home to watch the Anthony Joshua fight on TV last December.

'Chantelle', eh? Far be it for me to say this was brewing since christening, but...

Defence lawyer Peter Casson told judges: "'She would just like the relationship with her daughter to resume. '
'She wants to have her home for Christmas. She has presents to give her from last Christmas, her birthday and for this Christmas.
"But unfortunately it seems this is not going to happen. She is still the mother to that young girl. She still cares about her daughter.''

I think if my daughter decided to tell me who I could have in my house, I'd wash my hands of her. Probably wouldn't get into a catfight, though!

Carroll was also ordered to complete a twelve month community order and must complete 120 hours unpaid work, as well as 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
She will also have to pay £180 in costs and surcharges.

There's that 'rehabilitation activity' again! Someone's making a fortune off drunken chavs, aren't they?

JP Dominic Stone told her: “You were provoked and we do not believe this was premeditated. You have also now lost your good character and you have shown remorse.
"However this was not your finest hour. Regardless of what went on before, you broke your daughter's nose.”

Yes, I know 'good character' really means 'hasn't come before the court before', but I can't be the only one for whom it jars in these stories?

Tell Us Again How 'Modern Toryism' Is A Vote Winner, Boris...

The Liberal Democrats secured a historic by-election win in Chesham and Amersham this morning, overturning a majority of more than 16,000 to snatch the previously safe Tory seat.
Liberal Democrat Sarah Green won with a majority of 8,028 over Conservative David Fleet, gaining 21,517 votes - nearly 57% of the total - to his 13,489, 35.5%, on a turnout of just over 52%.
Ouch!
A Tory source told the Press Association: 'By-elections are always difficult for the governing party, particularly 11 years into government, but there is no getting away from the fact this is a very disappointing result.
'The work of regaining the support of the people of Chesham and Amersham starts now.'

Given it's a safe Conservative seat that's never been lost, why have they lost faith?

Lib Dem activists on the ground had insisted the race for the seat looked “neck and neck”, with former Tory voters on the doorsteps complaining they felt neglected by the governing party.
The Lib Dems said the government’s proposed planning reforms had also featured heavily in the campaign.

Boris should really have looked across at the opposite benches and thought: "That could happen to me..."

Who Could Have Predicted This?

Oh, yeah. That's right. Everyone.

Author and 'body positivity' blogger (Ed: they mean 'fat person', dear Reader) Stephanie Yeboah was hired as a contributing editor by the fashion and lifestyle weekly last month to 'fight for diversity, inclusion and women's rights'.

And how exactly did she decide to do this?

But the 31-year-old activist has been axed over hateful remarks about the Holocaust including 'every Jew has an attic but not every attic has Jews', and a bizarre tweet which said: 'AUSCHWITZ Gas Chamber Music LMAO SMH (laughing my a*** off, shaking my head).'

Well, you could knock me down with a feather! Which is more than you could do with Ms Yeboah, it has to be said...

She issued a grovelling apology after the offending Twitter posts were published by Private Eye magazine last Wednesday.
It is understood there were frantic discussions with Grazia UK editor Hattie Brett before the decision was finally made to sack her on Friday evening.

Oh, to have had a wiretap on those!
