Putting Your Money Where Your Mouth Is...

An interesting little vignette over at David Thompson's site...

Excellent. I was explaining "redistribution" in a similar way recently. I said that I would be very happy for people richer than me to redistribute to make me richer, but if I was expected to give up yet more of my income in taxes then such a scheme would not get my vote. Does that make me selfish or just human?

I'd say human. The difference is, you aren't preaching (and expecting) it of others...

A friend went to an evening lecture at the LSE recently, to run into some [bloody] students waving placards.

Visitors were being harangued with cries of "Support public services!"

He riposted, "I am supporting public services. What are you doing?"

Cracker. I wonder what the reaction would have been if the server had found out that the homeless man was a former employee of Lehman Brothers?
