Caught Short In Colchester?

Well, too bad:
Patrols have been stepped up at public toilets in Colchester after they appeared on a website highlighting places for gay men to meet.

The website lists the best times to visit, how frequently police, security guards or cleaners are due to visit and the type of people who go there.
The response from the authorities if that doesn't work?

Close 'em.
Martin Hunt, responsible for street services at Colchester Council, said he would not hesitate to close public toilets if they were being abused.
Next month, council meeting to try to find out why the streets of Colchester smell bad...
Chief Insp Andy Fusher, of Colchester police, said he would ensure the locations were included in patrol routes. He added: “We will also work with groups, such as Action for Men, to ensure the health and safety of everyone in Colchester and to reduce antisocial behaviour and crime.”
That group, 'Action4Men'? Not, as you might have thought, a pressure group demanding more public toilets, rather than fewer...

"Action for Men is a men's health service supporting the sexual health and mental health needs of gay men, bisexual men and other men who have sex with men."

So, you can have sex with a man if you are man and not be Gay or bisexual?

I'm confused. But not sexually.

Maybe its men who have sex with other men who used to be women? Or men who used to be women who have sex with men who were always men. Or men who used to have sex with women who used to be men. In Colchester.

@RantinRab, The extremely myopic and naive?

And what was the West End or London play or musical from years ago, Madame something? based on Asian spies. diplomats and similar, and unwitting transvestite or like marriage?

It is interesting that on learning that their public toilets are a meeting place for gay men, they 'step up their patrols'.
Is this a comment on their recruitment policies and predelictions?
And what does this have to do with the sanitaryware being abused, as Martin Hunt seems to be alleging? (Good thing he's not named Michael)

So, once again, the law abiding majority have to suffer because of the indiscretions of a few?

How long before some poor soul who can't hold it any longer gets arrested for "watering a hedge", or similar?

Still, look on the bright side, that Chief Inspector could have been called Andy Flusher.....

Fife Cooncil did the same thing. There used to be plenty of toilets but many were shut down 'because people were mis-using them'. So, what about the thousands of people who were using them for the intended purpose?

Never mind folk who have bladder problems, eh?

It's always good to know the State is getting its priorities right. Gay friends reject my idea that there should be a third way and gay only bogs. Apparently it would take away the rush of fear of apprehension so vital for there enjoyment. My full idea involved putting politicians (local and otherwise) face down in a barrel in such toilet annexes until they saw the error of their ways.

Me too!

"So, once again, the law abiding majority have to suffer because of the indiscretions of a few?"

Yup. It's always the way, isn't it? And what about those with a disability or illlness, as Longrider points out?

"Gay friends reject my idea that there should be a third way and gay only bogs. "

But what symbol would we put on them..? ;)
