Such Integrity...

A chief constable apologised yesterday for 'accidentally' endorsing a tweet that blamed rioting in Bristol on police and the Government.
Rachel Swann, who leads Derbyshire Police, 'liked' the message, which said the violence was inevitable after officials 'criminalised peaceful protest'.

*sighs* Yes, it's her. Ms BogBrush Hair.

Miss Swann 'liked' the tweet late on Sunday night but later deleted the endorsement after being criticised online.

So strong! So brave!

Miss Swann, who became her force's first female chief constable in August, said that she had 'accidentally liked a tweet which did not reflect my view of the situation'.
She added: 'When I realised this morning I immediately corrected it.'

Are you that dim? If you are, should you be a Chief Constable?

In 2019, Miss Swann told how she was temporarily driven off Twitter after 'sexist and homophobic' abuse over her spiky hairstyle.

Perhaps you should have stayed off? You clearly can't be trusted with it...

The next PC that is disciplined for "accidently" liking a post criticising a minority group or similar now has a precedent set. No not really, just dreaming...

"Mrs Swann’s suitability for the role was put to the test during a robust assessment process which included the delivery of a presentation before a community panel, media exercise and final interview."

"I have, from former Chief Constable Peter Goodman, inherited a force that is well set to face the many challenges that policing faces in the modern age, that is moving towards better representing those communities that we serve, fighting crime, bringing offenders to justice and protect those most at risk from criminality and harm in its many forms.”

A coiffeur that could only have been achieved with a stolen lawn mower put this rug muncher's career into orbit.

It must be a bit of a bummer being in a job where accidentally expressing what you really think means that you have to immediately issue a mealy mouthed apology in order to avoid being fired. Engineering is a lot more straightforward, you can tell people exactly what you think and if lesser mortals disagree you get the additional satisfaction of proving that they were wrong and you were right.

I think we need new thinking on how high ranks of the police and civil servants are employed with the first question of the interview being:
Are you now or have you ever been a member of Common Purpose and have you ever been to meetings of that organisation?
If the answer is yes, they have excluded themselves from the job. If no then an in-depth check is automatically started and if they are found to be lying, no job and they are put on a black list.

It should also be applied to those holding positions of any authority including the judiciary.

This is the only way that the mess of the politicians, police and civil servants can be sorted out and the country put back on its feet.

We could start with a ban on tattoos, dyed hair in silly colours and beards, that includes the wimmin, and a rigorous fitness test

Heh! I admire your optimism...

"...which included the delivery of a presentation before a community panel, media exercise and final interview."

But not, I note, showing any understanding of the law.

"Turns out Dick was a trailblazer. This is the box ticking future."

The long march through the institutions has seen to that.

"When will they ever learn"

When there are consequences. So, never.
