He said he plans to get a shotgun licence in case he needs to protect his children in future.
Better to get it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

Don't leave ANY dog alone with kids. NOT EVER!! And I'm a dog owner, just so's you know. Idiots who do that make my blood boil.
He better not say that is why he needs it on his license application as it will be refused.
Best say he is getting it for vegan pigeon shooting. That will get approved providing his record is OK.
