A Device That Could Only Be Thought Up in Britain In 2026

Commenters have suggested that they are specially designed to prevent suicide by hanging, and I can believe it, because it’s typical of the NHS to install something so utterly useless, rather than simply have no hook on the doors at all.

I shudder to think how much they cost!

Labour Prioritising Its Imported Voting Bloc Again...

Young children from struggling families in some parts of England will be offered vaccinations at home to protect them from preventable diseases, the health secretary has said.

Really?

The pilot scheme, announced on Thursday as part of a drive to increase vaccine uptake, will see health visitors trained to spend more time with small numbers of families who could fall through the cracks of the NHS. Wes Streeting told the BBC that children's healthcare had not been given the priority it deserved.

What's the makeup of these families who 'fall through the cracks' then?

The pilot scheme was part of that aim, he said, targeting families who are not signed up to a GP surgery or face language barriers, travel costs or childcare issues which stop them getting to a doctor.

Ah, I see. Labour's imported voter base. Given house calls by GPs are now almost entirely unknown, does the NHS really have the staff for this?

Streeting said there had been a decline in the number of health visitors and community nursing over a number of years, and that government was developing a workforce plan to address recruitment.

Of course, it would be folly to ask why they didn't recruit them before making this announcement, wouldn't it, Reader?

There's No Place In The NHS For These People....

An NHS doctor facing claims of antisemitism and Holocaust denial openly called for Jihad on the streets of London and described armed Palestinian fighters as 'heroes'.

We are continually told how the wretched NHS needs foreign workers but seriously, is this the best we can do?

Dr Rahmeh Aladwan, a trauma and orthopaedics doctor, has come under investigation over several 'dangerous' social media posts littered with praise for terrorist organisation Hamas and previously said she would 'never condemn' the October 7 attack. She also once described a hospital in north London as a 'Jewish supremacy cesspit'.

Why oh why is she still employed?

The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) ruled last month that no suspension was necessary because her posts did not amount to 'bullying or harassment'.

🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

But following criticism over the decision by Health Secretary Wes Streeting, the General Medical Council has referred the case back to the MPTS, with a new hearing set for October 23. Now footage has emerged of Dr Aladwan openly showing her support for Jihadist fighters, as one peer and former MP told Daily Mail the GMC must 'get a grip' and suspend her.

And then deport her.

Last night, concerned advocates called on the GMC to address the 'shameful state of affairs' and urged Met Police to investigate why Dr Aladwan was allowed to freely support armed Palestinian resistance in a public space.

Because the Met Police too are thoroughly captured by the Left and their creatures!

Last night, Met Police said in a statement it would review why there had been no intervention by officers at the time of the protest, as well as reviewing the material to 'establish whether any offences have been committed.'

I already know - you're terrified of halting these people and treating them like the embedded filth column they are. No, not a typo.

A spokesperson said: 'We can understand why the comments made in this video are a cause of significant concern.
'While the Crown Prosecution Service has previously determined that similar language used at protests did not cross the threshold into a criminal offence, each incident is specific and we would expect officers to intervene and take action so that an investigation can follow.

Ah, blame the Couldn't Prosecute Satan bunch...

'We will be reviewing this incident to understand why that didn’t happen.
'Officers will also review the footage in its entirety to establish whether any offences have been committed, liaising with our CPS counterparts as necessary.'

Pathetic excuse - ‘Please sir, the CPS wouldn’t let us do anything, we really wanted to, honest!’

Never Mind, There's A Job For You In The Regular NHS, I'm Sure...

A prison nurse is angry at being struck off from the profession for 'not showing kindness' after telling an offender to 'get up' when she felt he was feigning injury.
Julie Abram, 63, said she was also criticised for calling the 'young lad' a prisoner and not a patient following the drama at Hull prison and believes she was sacked because she refused to 'mollycoddle' the criminals.

Ecxcept she wasn't sacked - she jumped before she could be pushed:

She resigned after 22 years when told she faced disciplinary proceedings over the incident in 2021, when the prisoner tripped over a shoe in his cell on the sex offenders' wing in the category B jail.
She said she was stunned to learn this week that she had been banned from the nursing profession without her knowledge.

Probably wouldn't prevent her getting a job in your local hospital, where failing to show compassion is one of the Key Performance Indicators - if you're not a criminal, but just an ordinary taxpayer!

Its Fitness to Practise Committee was told she exhibited a 'discriminatory' attitude towards prisoners, which was a 'deep-seated attitudinal issue'.
Ms Abram said: 'It seems you have to tuck the prisoners up in bed these days.'

Unfortunate choice of phrase.

Maybe He Was In The Wrong Job?

A doctor who claimed he hid spycams in bathroom air fresheners because he wanted to compare his 'small penis' with other men has been jailed.

He couldn't simply specialise in urology then?

Yu Young Um, 34, secretly recorded over 24 people over the course of more than three years as they went to the toilet in a Scotland Airbnb and at staff accommodation. The anaesthetist was found guilty of 23 charges in April following a trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court and jailed for 18 months on Thursday, the Crown Office said.

Scotland again! Are they all perverts up there?

Yu Young Um was also found guilty of covertly filming people in private situations within staff accommodation at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.

If he'd pretended to be a transgender something or other,  he could have skipped the secrecy and entered as many private areas as he wanted, of course...

A total of 21 men and nine women, four of whom were doctors, were filmed by Yu Young Um, who was diagnosed as having a form of body dysmorphia following his arrest.

And it seems we've found a form of body dysmorphia the Scottish NHS won't tolerate or excuse. For once.

Maybe You Shouldn't Bang On Endlessly About The 'Obesity Crisis' Then?

Weight-loss injections are being aggressively marketed to British consumers through often illegal promotions, in a practice experts have described as a “wild west” industry of drug selling. The booming market for jabs such as Wegovy and Mounjaro has triggered a price battle among online pharmacies, with even high-street chains cashing in on the soaring demand.

Well, why the surprise, when the media is full of stories like this and you can't walk into any dr's surgery or A&E without screaming posters about obesity being a 'killer'?

...a Guardian review of reports by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has revealed many online pharmacies are flouting the rules in an attempt to attract customers looking for weight-loss treatments. The regulator has regularly written to online pharmacies who advertise cut-price and multibuy deals on jabs to censure them for their promotions, reminding the seller that the suitability of weight-loss injections “should be a professional prescribing decision based on a consultation”.

We live in a 'quick fix' society, so of course people worried about the constant pressure from the NHS aren't going to eat healthily and exercise, because that all takes too long. A jab is the ideal solution for them.

The MHRA’s official guidance states that a failure to comply with any requirement imposed by a notice served under the regulations is a criminal offence.
“The penalty is a fine and/or imprisonment for up to two years,” it states.

And how many have been issued? Zero. So it might as well not exist. Like any legislation that isn't enforced.

How Many Of These Are They Sending Out?

The NHS is trying to recruit people for some research. And, since they have a bottomless pit of taxpayer money to draw on, why not carpet bomb a neighbourhood with 'to the occupier' letters?

To clarify - this is the fourth such letter I've had over a two week period. First class stamp costs £1.65 now. I know they will get some sort of discount for bulk mailing, but jesus!

You May Have To Eat Those Words, Thirwell

When the public inquiry into the crimes of the former nurse Lucy Letby opened in Liverpool last month its chair, Lady Justice Thirlwall, dismissed concerns about the safety of the convictions as “noise”. The judge cautioned that questions being raised were increasing the distress of parents whose children had died or been harmed.

Isn't the point of any enquiry to ask questions, though? Otherwise, why are you even holding it?

Letby was found guilty across two trials of murdering seven babies and attempting to murder seven others at the Countess of Chester hospital (COCH) in 2015 and 2016. Thirlwall pointed out that in May this year, the court of appeal refused Letby permission to appeal, and she said it was not the role of her inquiry to review the convictions.

It's not. She got that right, but you cannot have an enquiry that closes off a line of questioning because of hurty feels, even in 2024.

Yet questions about the case, and the number of experts raising them, have continued to mount. Letby is being represented by a new barrister, Mark McDonald, and a number of specialists including leading neonatologists – doctors who specialise in treating premature babies – are voluntarily working with him on an application to the Criminal Cases Review Commission.

This should surely be something the enquiry needs to have an eye on, in case it becomes relevant.

The Guardian has now learned that from an early stage, Cheshire police recognised the case involved statistics – and they had initially engaged Hutton. According to emails seen by the Guardian, in April 2018 an officer on the investigation approached Hutton, who has extensive experience in medical research. Without naming Letby, he asked Hutton whether she could put a figure on how likely it was to be just a coincidence for one member of staff to be on duty “during all the deaths/collapses” in the neonatal unit, “ie 1 in a million etc”. She informed the police that a proper statistical inquiry would not concentrate on one member of staff from the outset, but instead required full research into all possible explanations for any increase in babies collapsing including their medical conditions and prematurity, as well as the performance of the unit. Reviews commissioned by the hospital had found medical explanations for nearly all of the deaths, criticised the standard of care on the unit and noted a lack of senior doctors.

Then how did the police switch to 'There's been a muuuurderrr!' mode?

Cheshire police then signed a consultancy agreement with Hutton and agreed fees, the documents suggest. The force did not proceed to commission Hutton’s analysis at that time, but contacted her again in 2021 after Letby had been charged. A video call was arranged, but an officer later cancelled the call. “We have had a further meeting this afternoon where we have informed the prosecutors that we were looking at the validity of statistical evidence again in the case,” he wrote in an email. “The prosecutor does not agree with our line of inquiry and has instructed us not to pursue this avenue, any further, at present.”

Aha! Ominously ticking parcel firmly in the CPS's grasp now!

Neither the initial engagement with Hutton nor the CPS instruction to the police to drop their line of inquiry into the “validity of the statistical evidence in the case” were disclosed to Letby’s defence team, the Guardian understands.

Ouch! That should cost them, shouldn't it? Or are we ignoring disclosure breaches now?

One Of Those Immigrant Doctors We Are Told Are Needed....

...to prop up the NHS:
Dr Gurkirit Kalkat, 58, called the patient in for an appointment at Thames View Medical Centre in Dagenham, Essex, only to throw himself against the door and begin hitting himself in the chest so he could give a false report to the police. The bewildered patient sat in a chair and looked on as Kalkat shouted: 'Stop hitting me, Ow! This is violence, you're attacking me!', before pressing a panic button to call for help.

Whereupon a receptionist who came to his aid promptly claimed that she had witnessed the assault that never was.

Police officers were called and took the innocent patient home in handcuffs but the investigation was dropped when Kalkat refused to proceed with a prosecution.

Hand on, why wasn't the doctor and receptionist arrested for wasting police time?

Inquiries revealed that Kalkat wanted the patient, who had drug issues, struck off the books at his surgery as it was due to be rebranded under a merger with another doctor's practice.
He lied to the patient about having terminal blood cancer to encourage him to register with another GP and even paid out more than £40,000 of his own money to fund rehabilitation treatment. Kalkat was unable to explain why he was paying for the patients treatment out of his own pocket.

Good grief! Even if the actual legal system is seemingly OK with this behaviour, the medical profession had no choice but to deal with it:

At the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service in Manchester Kalkat of Loughton, Essex was suspended from medical practice for 12 months after he was found guilty of serious professional misconduct. He denied wrongdoing.

That's all? His license should be revoked at the very least!

Kalkat declined to attend the MPTS hearing and instead filed written submissions via a lawyer claiming it was not 'safe' enough to appear in person due to Patient A's 'volatile' behaviour. The receptionist who was alleged to have witnessed the incident was said to have been 'unavailable or unable' to make a formal statement.

How is neither of them in the dock of a real court?

Maybe The ASA Would Like To Get Involved?

I mean, surely calling it a 'secure hospital' breaks some rule?

A vicious sex offender was let out of a secure hospital and went on a horrific four-day rampage of sexual violence against eight women, eventually raping a jogger at knifepoint. Louis Collins, 29, subjected his final victim to an hour-long ordeal after dragging her away from her running route just days after he walked out of Lambeth Hospital unescorted.
After all, we already know the medical profession won't allow the culprits to face any consequences:
Collins left Lambeth Hospital in south London on August 18 after doctors agreed he could have an unescorted leave of absence, Patricia May, prosecuting, told his sentencing hearing.

Who gave them the authority to allow that absence?

Siobhan Molloy, defending, said Collins, who is originally from Croydon in south London, claimed that voices in his head had compelled him to carry out the attacks but a doctor had found he did not have a psychotic illness.

Although what faith can we put in any doctor's opinion on anything?

Can They All Be Done For Supporting Terrorism Now?

A family doctor suspended after being exposed by The Mail on Sunday as the leader of a banned extremist group has raised more than £50,000 to fight the NHS. Abdul Wahid was the leader of Hizb ut-Tahrir (HT), which caused outrage after its members screamed for jihad on the streets of London days after Hamas's terror attack on Israel on October 7. The extremist chief himself praised the attack as a 'welcome punch on the nose' for Israel.

One wonders what MI5 were doing that meant a rag like the 'Mail' found this out?

NHS England suspended Wahid and, in January, the then home secretary James Cleverly proscribed HT as a terror group, making membership punishable with a jail term of up to 14 years.

What punishment for those that are bankrolling this, then? Probably nothing with Labour in charge now.

The news of Wahid's fundraising has caused anger among terrorism experts. Colonel Richard Kemp, the former commander of UK forces in Afghanistan, said: 'Nobody should be giving this person a platform to raise money for legal fees. It is disgusting. The platform should remove him at once.'
Last night CrowdJustice could not be reached for comment. On its website it says: 'We don't allow certain types of cases and behaviours.'

Clearly, you do.

The Vanity Generation

The NHS is having to provide emergency care to rising numbers of patients suffering serious complications following weight loss surgery and hair transplants abroad amid a “boom” in medical tourism, doctors have warned. Medics said they were being left to “pick up the pieces” as more Britons seeking cheap operations overseas return with infections and other issues.

And thereby bumping other people out of their slots:

Hospitals have even had to cancel elective procedures for patients because beds were being taken up by someone who needed an overseas procedure fixed.

Whicj must be utterly infuriation. And all for vanity.

David Strain, chair of the BMA’s board of science, said more Britons were travelling abroad for procedures, but not all were getting the care they would expect in the UK.

They are probably getting better care (except for when the treatment goes wrong).

Delegates passed a motion expressing concern about patients who need emergency surgery on their return to the UK. They also called for more weight management services, to be partially funded by a rise in the sugar tax.

So everyone pays more to placate those who have no self-control?

Strain warned that the increase in surgeries abroad had been spurred on by a “social media nation” where people felt the need to present themselves in a certain way.

Why blame social media. and not the people in thrall to it?

Keep Clapping While They Spit In Your Faces...

Nurses at an NHS Accident and Emergency department have been caught on film laughing about how they weren't hitting targets after they admitted one of their patients had already waited 46 hours for care. The shocking state of NHS care was revealed after a Channel 4 Dispatches reporter went undercover at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital's A&E, posing as a trainee healthcare assistant.

I think a reporter doing actual undercover work is more shocking than anything he found...

...the programme's footage left an expert in disbelief at the 'unacceptable' practices.

I guess they managed to find a reporter who hadn't had any experience of the NHS, the lucky chap. No-one who has will be even surprised.

The shocking programme showed:
  • Sick patients waiting overnight in the 'Fit to Sit' area, with a suspected stroke case sitting in the waiting room for 24 hours.
  • A man who was forced to urinate on a trolley in full view of 30 staff, patients and members of the public.
  • A dementia patient who ripped out their cannula and left a room covered in their blood when they were supposed to have been watched over.
  • A makeshift ward set up on the X-ray corridor which is isolated from doctors and nurses and which has no sinks and insufficient plug sockets.
  • Shocking levels of hygiene, with dirty bedpans left by staff without being cleaned up.
  • Patients forced to wait up for up to four and a half hours in ambulance queues.
  • Some ambulance crews who cannot wait just dump their patients in the 'Ambulance Reception Area' without a proper handover.
A spokesperson for the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, said: 'As with other hospitals, our Trust is facing significant challenges with urgent and emergency care.'

You could always sell some 'art' to fund improvements. Or stop having to pay out huge settlements because you seem to employ Srevie Wonder as a surgeon.

And you certainly can't afford this nonsense!

Physician, Heal Thyself...

Consultant doctor Natalia Wilson, 53, turned on David Birrell and suggested he was being sexist towards women after he politely asked her to stop interrupting him during proceedings. In a bizarre legal rant, Wilson claimed the experienced barrister 'shouted at her in front of everybody' and said he had used 'discriminatory and abusive language' towards her.

That's not helping your case, madam....

She then called for Mr Birrell, who has been presenting cases for the General Medical Council for a decade, to be replaced by another lawyer, saying that he had an undiagnosed mental health condition and posed a 'high risk to female litigants.'

I'm pretty sure the hippocratic oath has something to say about diagnosing illness in a court sutiation, and if it doesn't, perhaps it should have.

She further alleged the GMC itself had broken the law '50 times' during its investigation into her and suggested Mr Birrell see a psychiatrist saying he had 'persecutory delusions' about her.

Welp, might as well go for broke!

At the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service in Manchester, Wilson, from Drayton, Oxfordshire was ordered to be erased from the medical register after she was found guilty of professional misconduct.

Shocker, I'm sure you'll agree, Reader?

Earlier the hearing was told Wilson, who qualified in medicine in Russia and worked at HMP The Mount in Herts and HMP Woodhill in Milton Keynes, was applying for jobs with the East London NHS Foundation Trust and The Interact Medical locum Agency in 2022. She set up bogus email addresses to falsify character references purporting to be from four fellow consultant psychiatrists she had briefly met during her career. Fraud officials at the NHS trust began investigating the authenticity of Wilson's CV and noted one of the referees quoted had their forename and surname the wrong way round. Another reference was signed off with just the doctor's surname and not their title.

The only real surprise here is that someone in the NHS actually bothered to scrutinise references for once...

You've Had Years To Do This...

More GP surgeries and diagnostic centres would be built under a future Conservative government funded by slashing the number of NHS managers, the Tories have said.
In their first major health offer of the General Election, the Conservatives have said they will bring more care services into the community.

...so I'd be a fool to believe you now, wouldn't I?

Given His Surname, Perhaps He Got Off Lightly....

A deaf man has blasted a NHS hospitals trust after doctors almost removed his testicle when he complained of a benign cyst without an interpreter present.

It could have been worse.

Staff at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital had wrongly believed that Andrew Wiley, 47, was begging to have testicle surgery during his consultation where he relied on lip reading and written responses to communicate.

Yikes!

Mr Wiley wasn't aware of the potential risks of the operation until he saw a surgeon this month with an interpreter present.
The NHS has a legal responsibility to ensure those with disabilities are catered for during appointments and procedures. KentOnline reports hospital bosses have said they are 'deeply sorry' for the distress they caused and have admitted standards were not met.

Standards in NHS hospitals are almost never met, are they?

It's 'Make Up Your Minds Time' x 10000000

Drug-induced milk from transgender women who were born male is as good for babies as a mother's breast milk, an NHS Trust has said.

This, from the same people who for years have trumpted dire warnings about the 'dangers' of formula milk.

The letter was sent on behalf of the Trust's Chief Executive in response to a campaign group's complaint about the Trust's gender policies. It defends the controversial practice of 'induced lactation' by means of powerful medication to enable trans women to simulate breastfeeding. It also claims that the term 'human milk' is 'meant to be neutral and is not gender-biased'.

Yes, Reader, opening up a sachet of Aptamil is like pouring hemlock down your newborn's throat, but a mentally ill person taking huge quantities of drugs like prolactin and oxytocin to produce a thin watery facsimile is A-OK!

But responding to the letter, Labour MP Rosie Duffield said: 'Babies can't be used as guinea pigs for someone else's lifestyle choice.

Nice try, Rosie, but that ship done sailed long ago, to the tune of 'In The Navy' by the Village People...

He Was Rumbled Because Of His Bedside Manner...

...it was so much better than the real staff. So he stood out!

The flagship £575million complex he is accused of accessing includes the Royal Hospital for Children, the Queen Elizabeth Maternity Unit and two Accident and Emergency units.
Woods, of Greenock, is said to have claimed he was a charge nurse, repeatedly gaining access to the resuscitation and children's areas of the hospital...

If he really wanted access to children, he should have put on a wig and lipstick, of course. That way, the State would fully support his right to claim to be something he's not.

Well, Maybe There Really Aren't Any?

Under an opaque policy condemned as discriminatory and “inhumane”, the government has refused dozens of visas for children of migrant single mothers, many of whom came to work in the NHS or social care, saying there are “no compelling reasons” to grant them.
Do they really 'come to work in the NHS or social care', or do they come to get a foot in the door?
The women left their children – some as young as two – in the temporary care of relatives or friends while they moved to Britain from countries including Zimbabwe, Zambia, Kenya, South Africa and India. Before leaving, they say, they had been reassured by their employers that their children would be able to follow, in line with current immigration rules permitting healthcare workers to bring close family members.

We are continually told the NHS needs these people, as workers. But are they workers, or the vanguard of an invasion?

In refusal letters seen by the Observer, the Home Office questioned why the children could not stay permanently with their grandparents or other relatives. In other cases, it said there was no reason why they could not go to live with their fathers, even though their mothers had sole custody or the fathers had not seen the children for years. Many of the letters, addressed directly to the children, conclude: “It was your mother’s personal decision to depart for the UK and you have not provided sufficient evidence to grant your visa on serious or compelling grounds.”

Yes, it was. She gambled. She lost.

Patricia Chinyoka, chief executive of the Women of Zimbabwe project, which is supporting many of the women, described the refusals as “absolutely appalling”. “Some of the women have supplied an amazing array of proof and then they still get a letter saying: ‘We don’t believe you.’ They have sold properties, left jobs – they’ve sold up and come here and this is what they are now faced with,” Chinyoka said. “They don’t know what to do.”

Go home to raise their families in their own countries.

Why We Can’t Have Nice Things Pt 4792587

The bell-ringing ritual is a familiar sound in many cancer wards — there are now 427 end-of-treatment bells in hospitals across the UK — but while for some it marks an important milestone, for others it’s an unwelcome reminder that they will never be able to celebrate the ‘end of treatment’, as their condition is incurable and the end of treatment means doctors have run out of options.

Remember when we allowed people to do things that made them feel better about their situation, and if it didn't make you feel that way, you just kept quiet out of respect for their choices?

Me too. It was a nicer world, wasn't it?

Meanwhile, even those who take part can be left with negative feelings about the experience. A study of 200 cancer patients, published in the International Journal of Radiation Oncology in 2020 found that patients who rang the bell reported more distressing and longer-lasting memories of treatment than those who didn’t. Researchers suggested the sound could create a ‘flashbulb’ event, locking in bad memories and creating false hope.

Silly me, I though cancer researchers just researched ways to defeat cancer...

Now there is increasing patient-led debate about the value of the end-of-treatment bell ceremony, with some campaigning to scrap the practice in the UK entirely — this has already led to some hospitals, such as Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, removing the end-of-chemo bell from the Lingen Davies Oncology Centre after complaints from patients.

This must be the only sign that the NHS actually cares about patient's wishes.
