The investigation into reports of a rape outside a church in Epsom that led to widespread public disorder will close as police are “confident there was no offence”.

If you thought the main story about dirty politics and public image was around Mandelson last week, think again:  

In an update on Thursday, the force said after a “thorough investigation” it became clear the woman in her 20s suffered an accidental head injury after a night out, leading her to make a confused report.

Perfect excuse not to have to charge her and so draw even more ire from the #IBelieveHer mob!  

Those actions were condemned as “shameful” by Surrey police and crime commissioner Lisa Townsend. “The mindless scenes we witnessed last night where our police officers were targeted with missiles were nothing short of shameful,” she said on Tuesday. She added some of those involved in the unrest had travelled from elsewhere to cause trouble, and warned them to stay away. “I am a firm believer in people’s right to lawful protest, but sadly, some of those present in Epsom yesterday stepped way beyond that line and the type of behaviour we witnessed will not be tolerated,” she said.

I thought the UK police couln't beclown themselves any more - Reader, I was wrong! 

Seems They Will Be Avoiding The Really Hard Questions...

The owners of the Swiss nightclub which erupted into an inferno killing at least 47 people and injuring 115 others are a husband and wife French couple who are known as powerful figures in the Swiss hospitality industry, we can reveal. The blast occurred at around 1.30am local time (12.30am GMT) in the basement of 'Le Constellation', a popular venue located in the centre of the Alpine town of Crans-Montana. Flames quickly spread across the club, consuming it in a raging fire that killed dozens.

...fire investigators probing the cause of the tragedy are now said to be investigating whether the basement which had just one relatively-narrow staircase was effectively 'a disaster waiting to happen'.

They will be asking all the right questions, but leaving out some: 

Investigators will also be looking at whether the wooden furnishings inside the basement, the wooden panelling on some of the walls, and the reported foam-style insulation material on the ceiling contributed to the spread of the fire.

Questions will inevitably be asked about how appropriate it was for the venue to use sparklers as props to make a theatrical show of serving drinks.

How about asking who signed off on the building's fire safety certificate, and why they did this?  Or why all the regulations the EU boasts about proved worthless in this case?

And Once Again, The Taxpayer's On The Hook

When the costs should come out of the pockets of the morons who fired him:

A veteran firefighter who was sacked for throwing away a disabled YouTuber's phone was unfairly dismissed, a tribunal has concluded.

The former firefighter had been fighting a blaze near the banks of the Great Ouse in King's Lynn when he was caught on camera appearing to throw the YouTuber's phone over a hedge.

 And why the bosses' sympathy with a moron attempting to hinder the firefighter in his duties?

Mr Evans, who uses a wheelchair and mobility buggy...

....had been at the scene of the fire in Hardings Pit. A video filmed by Mr Evans, a self-styled journalist, showed the pair get into an argument over his presence at the scene. The self-proclaimed 'auditing' content creator can he heard saying 'I'm press, mate' and that he was 'legally allowed to do it' as the fire chief approached him. Mr Linden told him that he was 'putting himself in danger' and urged him to leave.

And when he didn't listen and continued shoving his phone in the fireman's face regardless, he did what anyone harrassed by these idiotic 'auditors' would do,  

At an employment tribunal last month, Mr Linden - who had served for 32 years - argued he had been unfairly dismissed by Norfolk Fire Service.

Employment Judge Andrew Spencer said: 'In recent years, [Mr Linden] and his work colleagues have had to deal with self-proclaimed social media 'auditors'.

'These individuals attend sites and public spaces to film emergency workers, often uploading the content to social media platforms.

'Some aim to generate online content by behaving aggressively and obstructively, seeking to capture negative responses with a view to posting this online.

'It is possible to monetise the results through social media channels such as YouTube.'

 And just because this fat fuck was also a cripple the fire brigade higherups took his side, more concerned at the image than of the trouble he caused the firemen. Do they not realise if it had gone to court, a jury would have likrely said 'serves the little bugger right' and acquitted?

Judge Spencer found there were procedural failures during the investigation that led to Mr Linden being unfairly dismissed. He said the investigation needed to be more 'rigorous' for a potentially 'career-ending decision'.

Yes, and it should also have been fait. But it wasn't: 

Judge Spencer said that the police fire chief had directed Mr Rowe not to interview members of the crew, who could have been witnesses to the incident. The judge said: 'This was inappropriate - it amounted to a clear instruction to Mr Rowe not to interview potential witnesses to take statements from them. 'It sought to restrict the scope of the investigation. Mr Rowe complied with this. He did not interview the witnesses or take formal statements from them. 'It was inappropriate for the chief fire officer to be giving that instruction and to interfere with the scope of the investigation.'

What brings more opprobium on the fire brigade - a fireman who acts as anyone else would do when faced with a harassing nuisance, or corrupt fire brigade bosses who seek to oust someone by these methods because they know they are the ones in the wrong?

The case left a number of puzzling and troubling questions. How did he get here? Who paid for his treatment and the trip? Where did he stay when he came to London? The last of these is perhaps the key to unlocking this quite extraordinary saga.

After a series of medical checks in his homeland, he was flown to London, a Qatari official with knowledge of the case revealed, and was initially given a daily allowance to cover his accommodation costs.

And as soon as he was arrested, it was all 'nuffin' to do wiv us, guv' from this parasite nestled into one of the most pretigious streets in London, providing a tidy living for Harley Street... 

'The Embassy of the State of Qatar in London is aware of a criminal case involving one of its citizens and his subsequent conviction,' the official said. 'The Embassy has had no contact with the individual since the time of his arrest and has not provided legal representation or support beyond standard consular assistance, in accordance with international consular norms.'

No, the taxpayer shouldered that burden, didn't it? 

The Qatari Embassy, which housed Al-Gherainiq after he first arrived in London, has been at the centre of controversy itself in the past and has a history of claiming diplomatic immunity when staff bring legal actions.

Recruitment agents who scam foreign nationals applying to work in the UK care sector have been exposed by BBC secret filming. One of the rogue agents is a Nigerian doctor who has worked for the NHS in the field of psychiatry.

At least the BBC are doing something worthwhile with the licence fee, you may think. But of course, as I read on, it becomes apparents that they are doing it not to sympathise with the ripped off Brits, but the Third Worlders cruelly deprived of a ticket to the UK gravy train. 

Reports of immigration scams have increased since a government visa scheme - originally designed to let foreign medical professionals work in the UK - was broadened in 2022 to include care workers.

Because no-one wants to work for the low wages the care companies pay, of course. 

The BBC began investigating him following a series of online complaints about his relocation services.

Complaints from people with relatives in care homes? No. Don't be silly.  

Praise - from south-east Nigeria and in his mid 30s - was one of those who complained, claiming he paid Dr Alaneme more than £10,000 ($13,000) for a job in the UK. He says he was told he was going to be working with a care company called Efficiency for Care, based in Clacton-on-Sea. It was only when he arrived that he realised the job didn't exist.

"If I had known there was no job, I would have not come here," he says. "At least back home in Nigeria, if you go broke, I can find my sister or my parents and go and eat free food. It's not the same here. You will go hungry."

Or you'll shoplift from Greggs, which seems far more likely.  

Efficiency for Care's sponsorship licence was revoked in July 2023. The care company can no longer recruit from abroad, but continues to operate. It told the BBC it strongly refutes the allegation it colluded with Dr Alaneme. It said it believed it lawfully recruited staff from Nigeria and other countries. It has challenged the Home Office's revocation of its sponsorship licence, it said, and the matter is now in court.

Costing us - the taxpayer - yet more money.

A judge has denied he was asked to give legal advice to hospital bosses over concerns about nurse Lucy Letby because he is a Freemason, a public inquiry has heard. The Thirlwall inquiry into events surrounding the crimes of Letby heard that both Judge Simon Medland KC and the Countess of Chester’s former director of corporate and legal services, Stephen Cross, are members of the organisation.

This case gets murkier and more likely to turn out to have been a huge miscarriage of justice every week, doesn't it? 

Earlier this week, the inquiry heard of “rumours and hearsay” about a Freemason connection of a “number of high-ranking people in the hospital and elsewhere”. Dr Stephen Brearey, the neonatal unit clinical lead, said he understood Cross had risen “quite quickly” from a junior position, and queried whether the hospital had followed any processes “in terms of fit and proper candidates for executive roles” . He said he heard Cross had been demoted from a senior rank in the police force to a constable.

Blimey!  

Dr Brearey said people at the hospital had the impression there might be “deals going on behind the scenes”.

Gosh! You wouldn't expect that at a hospital, of all places, eh? *inserts tongue firmly back in cheek* 

I Guess, Looking At Her....

...a false claim for rape wouldn't have been believable, so a false claim of stabbing had to suffice:

Three teenagers were arrested after a 24-year-old PCSO was found with a 'serious' knife wound in her arm - but now she has been accused of stabbing herself in order to claim compensation. Olivia Morphew, 24, reported being knifed during an attack in Esher, Surrey in June 2023. Three teenage boys were arrested later that day in nearby Claygate on suspicion of attempted murder and a kitchen knife with a 9cm stainless steel blade was recovered at the scene.

Fast work for the cops!  

At the time, Surrey Police said it was 'appalled' by the alleged attack. However, it's now been alleged that PCSO Morphew stabbed herself and subsequently submitted a compensation claim for her injuries.

*sighs* 

The former PSCO will now appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with perverting the course of justice, fraud and possession of a knife in a public place.

At This Point, I'm Starting To Wonder Whose Side They Are On...

...because this sounds less like the usual lackadaisical incompetence and more like protection for the criminal underworld:

A man whose luxury watch was stolen from his wrist while he ate at a central London restaurant says he wants to "leave the country" after an "appalling failure" by the Metropolitan Police to convict those responsible. Luca, who works in the finance industry and did not want to give his full name, said his Rolex watch was stolen off his wrist by three men while he was having dinner at a Chelsea restaurant in September last year.

He chased the suspects down the King's Road and caught one of the men...

Hurrah!  

....but says the Met Police was unable to gather CCTV footage of the crime and suggested that he drop the case over potential threats to his safety.

Oh.  

A Met Police spokesperson said the force was "sorry" to hear the victim felt let down and remained "regretful that we were not able to achieve justice in this case".

How could he possibly feel anything other than 'let down'?  

Luca said that in June an officer suggested he should drop the case because, if it went to court, the suspect would learn his identity and could therefore endanger his life due to "potential retaliation". He says he was also told that if he pursued the case, the suspect would likely receive only "a few hours of community service" as a court sentence.

Firstly, what's this 'drop the case' stuff? This isn't America, victims of crime don't 'press charges' over here, that's the Crown Prosecution's job. Looks like they aren't doing their's either... 

So all this talk of him 'pursuing the case' sounds like an attempt to make him withdraw support for the prosecution. Why? It can't just be because they are lazy, incompetent bastards who want a quiet shift. Can it?

The finance professional added the Met Police failed to secure CCTV footage from the restaurant and other public areas from the night of the theft, and told him this was due to "capacity and understaffing constraints".

Bollocks! It doesn't take that much work. Someone should look into what's really going on here...

And With One Bound, She Was Free!

Police dropped an investigation to Angela Rayner's living arrangements yesterday – but her former neighbours were left furious.

The deputy Labour leader will face no further action by officers over questions about where she was living when she sold her Right-to-Buy home.

Announcing their decision, Greater Manchester Police said it had also passed information on to Stockport Council and HMRC, but they too will be taking no further action against the Ashton-under-Lyne MP.

We've imported the equivalent population of a dodgy Third World corrupt kleptocracy, so why not go the whole hog and adopt their methods too? 

Sylvia Hampson, 83, had claimed that Ms Rayner was living next door to her in a terraced home – owned by her then husband, Mark Rayner – in Lowndes Lane in Stockport for a good 'six or seven years', rather than in the ex-council house she later sold.

The mother-of-two, who gave evidence to the police investigation, said: 'It's bloody ridiculous. 'I know the truth and so does my son. She was definitely living next door to me and she knows she was.'

I guess you won't be voting Labour then?

Chris Hinett, 64, who lives a few doors down from the house where Ms Rayner claimed she lived in Vicarage Road, Stockport, also reacted with anger.The car salesman said of her being cleared: 'It's disgusting. I co-operated with the police but when they knock on my door next time, I won't bother.

'It's the police's job to investigate election law. She is potentially going to the next deputy prime minister – it's not right.'

They've declined to do their job. Which shouldn't really come as a surprise to anyone.  

Another Met Police Disaster

Two organised criminals are appealing against their convictions after a Metropolitan Police officer was photographed by defence barristers driving away from court with a female juror in his car. The veteran detective constable, granted anonymity at a gross misconduct hearing last Thursday, breached standards of professional behaviour in respect of discreditable conduct and integrity.

Does any Met Policve officer not breach those on a regular basis? 

He would have been dismissed had he not retired from the force on December 12, 2023.

He might be crooked but he's not stupid! 

The officer, attached to the Specialist Crime Command and known as Officer A, was interviewed under caution but lied about having any contact with the juror. Phone data later showed he had messaged and called her on the same day. He withheld the PIN number to his mobile which would have assisted the investigation.

Then surely he could now be charged with that - isn't it an offence? 

It's The DEI Version Of Max Coopey!

A drug-driver jailed for 16 years for killing a pregnant woman and her elderly father will not spend a single extra day behind bars for trying to cover up his crime. Nitesh Bissendary mounted a pavement in Leopold Street, Ramsgate, in his Alfa Romeo and fatally struck Noga Sella, 37, and 81-year-old Yoram Hirshfield in August 2022.

I remember this when it first hit the news, and thought it had gone rather quiet.

The 31-year-old, who had been out dealing cocaine in the two hours prior to the crash, fled the scene, leaving his dying victims and a seriously injured child who was among the family-of-five mown down. But instead of alerting emergency services, Bissendary chose to phone his parents, former Metropolitan police officer Barjunsing Bissendary, 59, and Sadhana Bissendary, 56, to help him remove evidence linking him to the death smash.

Well, well, well... 

Canterbury Crown Court heard that between them they removed items from the car, including drugs, as well as further drugs and paraphernalia from his bedroom at the family home in Highlands Glade, Manston. They also concealed Bissendary's mobile phone from police and removed its SIM card.

His stash of cocaine was actually retrieved from the wreckage while emergency workers were still tending to the injured and as Mrs Sella lay underneath the vehicle.

And what did they get? Well, Reader, merely a 12-month jail term suspended for 18 months.

At the parents' sentencing hearing Judge Simon James said they had acted out of "misguided loyalty", having been confronted with a "conflicting dilemma" of doing the right thing or protecting their son.

I can see why a Met Police employee would have a hard time understanding what 'the right thing' was in any situation, Judge...

Right Under Their Noses...

A police evidence officer who plundered more than £14,000 from evidence stores [redacted] faces jail after pleading guilty.

What have I redacted? Well, Reader, read on... 

Lisa Arnold, 52, worked as an evidence officer for Dorset police and had access to bank notes seized in previous police operations. She used her position to plunder wads of notes on 17 separate occasions - totalling £14,494.She started stealing money from the safes in Dorset Police headquarters at Winfrith, near Dorchester, in 2018 and spent three-and-a-half years going back for more.

Didn't they notice? Well, no. It seems they were handing over cash to the evidence room without counting it! 

Yes! Unbelievable as it sounds...  

Despite two internal investigations into money going missing from the station, she did not stop stealing until she was caught on March 19, 2022.

Hopeless. 

There Will Be No Accountability Until Heads Roll...

Claire did not know what to do, to say, to think. What she does remember was that the police officers were kind.

One of them assured her that, whatever else she was facing, she need not worry about the legal process.

‘He said a man had tried to do a U-turn and gone straight into David. It was a clear-cut case of dangerous driving and there were witnesses. Justice would be done.

‘At least that was one thing I did not have to worry about.’

But you were wrong. He might have been kind, but the rest of his farce weren't. 

At Cambridge Crown Court, pensioner William Curtis, 88, was found guilty of causing death by careless driving.

No, I know what you're thinking - 'But the police did their jobs! Why are you complaining?'  

It was no thanks to Bedfordshire Police. Despite the assurances of that first officer, the force initially refused to bring charges against Curtis, suggesting to Claire that her husband had been partly to blame for the accident. This was simply not true, and was indeed challenged by the coroner at David’s inquest.

Claire, now 68, has spent the past four years challenging officers, all the way up to and including Chief Constable Garry Forsyth, and enlisting the help of her local MP.

Why? Laziness? No. Corruption. What else can you call this?

Claire discovered that the pensioner the police seemed unwilling to blame was the grandfather of a civilian police employee.

And incredibly, lying to the real victim.  

I remember asking them, tongue-in-cheek, if the old man was related, because I couldn’t see another explanation. I was told: “No, no, absolutely not.”

‘But he was, and it was subsequently confirmed that his granddaughter had emailed officers working on the case for information, and her husband had sat in on his interview.’

How are they not facing more than simply public opprobium in a national newspaper?

 I thought you chaps were interested in this sort of thing..?

The Chief Constable’s statement on the sorry affair acknowledges that Claire succeeded where his officers had failed.

‘The failings in the investigation . . . undoubtedly compounded the pain, suffering and grief that Mr Fudge’s wife and family have had to endure since his death, and I am genuinely sorry,’ he said.

‘If it had not been for their relentless campaigning there is real potential this would have slipped by and justice would have been missed. I’m so pleased that didn’t happen. We have reimbursed the cost of their private investigation, which played a key role in the matter being re-opened.’

You pay back the money and think that's the end of it? What about those officers who handled the case? 

Yet no one has been disciplined for the police failings. Claire says one of the officers involved has been promoted. Given that this whole case was about accountability, that rankles.

She Should Be Sacked, No Doubt...

...not for going out, getting drunk and making a disgusting spectacle of herself, shocking as that is. But for this:

PC Shearer denied the allegation to her colleagues, but was found by a police disciplinary panel in Middlesbrough to have lied and tried to hide the truth by changing her story about what had happened. Allegations of discreditable conduct and breaches of honesty and integrity were proven.

Yet the officer escaped with a written warning and was allowed to keep her job with Cleveland Police.

What sort of absolute idiot made such a decision?

Oh! 

...said: 'This officer is 24 years old. There is scope for her to be rehabilitated, there is scope for her to set the record straight and to begin on a new path.'

Listen, Ogheneruona, it might be ok for police officers to be liars in your ancestral homeland, but in England, we expect better. 

The controversial decision yesterday prompted Cleveland Chief Constable Mark Webster – who said her actions are 'incompatible' with his force's standards – to intervene. He said he was concerned about the outcome and 'legal options' were now being considered.

Good! Because what sort of job could she now do with the police anyway? 

Olivia Checa-Dover, representing the force, told the panel its findings that she had been dishonest meant she was now 'undeployable' as an officer. As she lied while being questioned on oath, that would have to be disclosed to defence lawyers in any future investigations she carried out, the barrister said.

You can just imagine it, can't you? 

In evidence her boss Inspector Christian Duree said: 'She deals with members of the public exceptionally well.'

Perhaps you should be investigated too, then. Or are shop staff not 'members of the public' to you?

According to a report by German newspaper Bild, “someone is making a fortune” out of giving non-Ukrainian economic migrants fake Ukrainian passports so they can slip into western Europe and get free welfare.

And how was this discovered? Well, when they started acting less like genuine refugees fleeing a war-torn country, grateful for the help, and more like the usual suspects: 

More than 50 migrants clashed on Saturday night during a riot at a refugee facility in Munich as chairs and paving stones were used as weapons, prompting a huge police response.

Sounds familiar, doesn't it? 

Bild cited a police source who said the overwhelming majority of the “refugees” were from the Sinti and Roma ethnic groups and that, “Only a fraction are really Ukrainian refugees.”

“They have brand-new Ukrainian passports, which are also real. Someone in Ukraine is making a fortune right now,” the newspaper quoted the police representative as saying.

The fight at the asylum center broke out “after authorities attempted to separate some of the individuals who have scabies,” reports ReMix News.

To think in the UK the height of black market profiteering during wartime was nylon stockings...

You're Lucky, Most Of Us No Longer Have Any To Lose...

“When we found out we had a large amount of police officers, we joked that this should be pretty easy. It ended up being the worst day of my hospitality career. I was shocked and have lost trust, especially in the Met.”

An acting inspector and at least four sergeants were on the night out, in a group of between 20 and 25 officers. Sergeant Ryan Snadden conceded that White “would have had concerns” as the CCTV footage shows more than six people sitting together.

“We were fully aware of the rules at the time, and had every intention to stick to them,” he said.

Until you all got steaming drunk and forgot who you were, eh? 

The Pc claimed self-defence, but District Judge Briony Clarke dismissed his evidence as “not honest or credible”...

That's him either out of a job or in the running to replace The Dick then! 

The officer is facing the end of his police career, and he will be sentenced later this month.

It Reads Like The Plot Of The Latest Autumn TV Drama Show...

...but it's not:

The grieving mother of a gifted teenage footballer knocked down and killed by a driver has accused police of a cover-up after turning detective and discovering the motorist had links to the force that investigated her son's death.

Before his trial, Ms Milligan heard rumours that Harwood was a director and shareholder of HB Panelcraft, a major vehicle repair company in Preston, and that the firm had a £280,000 contract to repair Lancashire Police vehicles.

Ms Milligan says a police family liaison officer denied there was any connection between the force and Mr Harwood and suggested the stress of her son's death was causing her to believe 'tittle-tattle' and that she should seek medical help.

I believe the term for that is 'gaslighting'. But that only works if the evidence isn't publically available to all... 

She took photographs of Lancashire Police vehicles on the forecourt of HB Panelcraft's repair shop and videos of them on the back of the firm's breakdown trucks.

Ms Milligan says she confronted the family liaison officer with her evidence, who accepted the force did indeed have a contract with the company.

So, they lied. Isn't that misconduct in public office? 

Last month an inquest into Dylan's death was halted after a coroner referred the case back to the Director of Public Prosecutions to consider prosecuting Harwood for manslaughter by gross negligence.

There's more than just Harwood should be in the dock, isn't there? 

Someone Should Go To Jail...

Disabled children in Brighton and Hove were left with unsafe, or no transport to school after council officials changed contractors in 2019.

A review into the fiasco by an independent barrister was commissioned by the city council, with a promise that the findings would be made public.

And clearly, promises were made to be broken, in Brighton... 

However, when it was due to be presented in March this year, councillors voted to kick out the press and public before deciding its contents would remain a secret.

Why? Well, that's a good question: 

The Argus can now reveal the barrister's report concluded that the council had illegally handed out contracts, broke its own rules in the process, and risked being sued by companies who missed out on the £500,000 contract.

Fearful of the council facing legal action should said companies find out they have grounds to sue, councillors decided to renege on the previous promise of publishing the document.

They know now. Let's hope they take you to the cleaners. 

Shouldn't Someone Else Be In The Dock With Her..?

The single mother-of-three bought her own home before claiming she had been made homeless and was then given a flat by her local council, a court heard.

So far, so 'ho hum'. But...read on: 

Owoeye, 49, who is Nigerian, is thought to be the first person in London to be convicted of fraud after receiving payments while under ‘no recourse to public funds’ (NRPF) immigration status. She pocketed more than £114,000 over five years.

An immigrant with this status cannot access the mainstream benefits system, homelessness assistance from a local authority or social housing.

A Greenwich councillor who applied for and lived in council housing while she owned three other properties has been found guilty of fraud.

It took a jury roughly an hour of deliberation to come to the decision on Tonia Ashikodi’s case at Inner London Crown Court today.

An hour..? Were the tea and biscuits that good? 

Cllr Ashikodi remained silent as the verdict was read out.

No squawks of 'racism'? I'm astonished. 

Addressing the councillor following the finding, Judge Benedict Kelleher said “these are serious matters”.

The judge added that he would consider “all sentencing options” when the matter returns to court on March 4.

Except jail, of course... 

The court heard her councillor’s allowance was her only income.
