Why Our Police Farces Are Doomed...

No, not because they lost a tribunal they were bound to lose, but because they hired someone like this in the fisrt place:
A judge said it was 'unusual' that she had a pair at home but did not raise it, but added it did not 'undermine her case' as 'the duty to make reasonable adjustments is on the employer not the employee'. The judge ordered that Ms Vale's bosses should pay her £19,141 in compensation, including £15,124 for injury to her feelings.

That was the correct decision but questions need to be asked how this woman was ever employed.

Ms Vale began her employment as a victim and witness care officer at the force in a temporary role to cover a long-term absence in September 2023. She was new to policing as she 'had a background in creative arts' and had owned her own creative arts business.

You couldn’t make it up and in the UK in 2026, you never have to…

She said she was previously a self-employed artist because her ADHD made her not want to work with others. Ms Vale had only been diagnosed with ADHD via an online consultation with ADHD360 in May 2023 after her GP had refused to diagnose her because they thought it was simply 'low self-esteem'.
Upon beginning work at the police force, Ms Vale requested that she be supplied with noise cancelling headphones and informed them of her ADHD.

The ADHD that she didn’t officially have…

She requested noise cancelling headphones again after a four-week probation review in October. Ms Vale's line manager Jennie Clarke asked: 'These are noise cancelling ones not the routine ones - is that correct
'I will be asked can I confirm why you need those as opposed to a normal headset. Let me know.'

The manager is clueless, and obviously can’t use Google!

Shortly after, in November 2023, Ms Vale had a health scare at work in which she believed she was suffering a heart attack.Ms Vale confided in a colleague who had worked as nurse during this episode that 'her GP has no awareness of what she is taking' because her health was being handled solely by ADHD360.
Ms Vale had a meeting with Miss Clarke shortly after where she disclosed her own 'doubts' about ADHD360.

Aha, the manager has learned how to use Google in the interim!

Ms Vale went on sick leave in December 2023, but when Miss Clarke wrote to the support officer to check on her, Ms Vale raised a grievance and asked not to be contacted again.

Not a serious issue, simply a delaying tactic.

She did not attend any grievance meetings and her employment ended in March 2024, although this had been the plan as the previous member of staff returned from their absence at this time.

And no doubt everyone reathed a HUGE sigh of relief.

Ms Vale then took the police force to an employment tribunal in Bristol, alleging that the staff had spread cruel rumours about her and made dismissive remarks. The tribunal concluded that the staff had actually been supportive of her throughout her employment and dismissed some of Ms Vale's claims.

And why did she lie so blatently? Why not? There are, after all, no reasons not to. There are no sanctions for frivolous claims, just as there are no sanctions for the police HR department when they hire unsuitable flakes fot temporary roles.

No Real Surprises Here...

A [redacted] [redacted] Police officer has been accused of running a mobile spray tanning firm while claiming mental health issues stopped [redacted] from coming to work.
What’s missing? Glad you asked, Reader. Nothing that will surprise anyone:
A female Metropolitan Police officer has been accused of running a mobile spray tanning firm while claiming mental health issues stopped her from coming to work.
The Met have said if the allegations are proven, it would amount to gross misconduct and she could be dismissed from her post.

But only 'could'. Perhaps if PC Jennifer Stowers is lucky enough to belong to an identity group, she'll escape dismissal.

Why Did The Journos Agree To It?

Chief Constable Kate Meynell will undergo a probe conducted by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) after claims she tried to suppress members of the media from revealing that the perpetrator of the attacks had previously been reported on two occasions, according to the Mirror.

It is, of course, the Valdo Calocane case.

Knifeman Valdo Calocane had been reported to authorities for stalking on two separate occasions before stabbing Barnaby Webber, Grace O'Malley-Kumar and Ian Coates to death in 2023.
Chief Constable Meynell had revealed the oversight in a private press briefing but had journalists in attendance sign non-disclosure agreements, preventing them from publishing the information.

Not exactly Woodward and Bernstein are they, our modern journalists?

This attempt to conceal police failings was revealed by the Nottingham Post, with the victims families launching a formal complaint to the Nottingham Police and Crime Commissioner.

Nor was this the only source of further lack of trust in the police from this DEI hire and this farce...

In the wake of the stabbings, there were also calls for Chief Constable Meynell to step down when it emerged her own son was one of the Nottinghamshire Police officers circulating graphic details of the stabbings via WhatsApp.

I wonder where he got the impression integrity was optional?

In The Immortal Words Of Queen....

"Another one bites the dust... " Met Police DEI hire, that is.

A Metropolitan Police officer has been sacked for posting offensive tweets about Jewish people and non-Muslims. Pc Ruby Begum was found to have committed gross misconduct after she admitted to posting discriminatory language such as 'dirty Zionists. Hell is waiting' while serving as a special constable.
The 29-year-old also admitted using the term 'kuffar' to refer to non-believers, using a shortened version of Pakistani, and making controversial comments about the September 11 2001 terror attacks.

Whoops! Do they do no due diligence at all?

Ms Begum denied gross misconduct and said her comments - which she agreed could be deemed discriminatory - amounted to simple misconduct and a final warning would be a sufficient outcome.

But the panel disagreed, thankfully.

But the panel said they found her posts 'appalling', 'derogatory' and 'abusive' and told the defendant her actions amounted to gross misconduct and dismissed her without notice.

The list of wrong 'uns employed simply to tick a box gets longer and longer...

More Met DEI Hire Woes...

A former Met Police detective who sprayed her neighbour with a garden hose after a row about her dog’s waste has been found to have committed gross misconduct.
The tribunal ruled the former officer would have been handed a final written warning for her “intimidating” behaviour had she not already left the force.

*sighs* Still, neighbour disputes, eh? They happen. Is one incident really a sign she's not good at her j...

In another incident, the panel heard how DS Chinn also sprayed one of her neighbours in a separate ‘urine’ row in May 2022, which she denied.

Oh!

“The Panel has found that former DS Chinn knew, by 24th May 2022 at the latest, what was happening and rather than finding an alternative to the washing arrangements, she carried on regardless, in full knowledge of the distress it was causing.”
However, it said there was no evidence “any of the misconduct was pre-planned”, but that DS Chinn “ought to have known better than to act in the way she did.”

Maybe look again at your hiring processes?

It added the behaviour “has been out of character” and that she may have perceived her neighbour’s actions as provocative.

Try not to employ women who think neighbours who object to a constant stream of dog waste are being unreasonable, perhaps?

It's Always The Ones You Least Suspect...

The Head of Met's Black Police Association could be sacked over 'racist' WhatsApp messages. Inspector Charles Ehikioya, who has served for 26 years, has been accused of sending 'misogynistic, racist, violent and otherwise inappropriate' texts between 2017 and 2020. Insp Ehikioya, based in the professionalism command, is now facing being sacked without notice if the allegations are proven at an upcoming gross misconduct hearing.

Oh dear, another triumph for the Met Police's DEI programme....

The initial decision to bring forward the case in February triggered an immediate backlash from some within the force with calls for new ethnic minority recruits to boycott the Met until they can be 'adequately protected'.
Andy George, president of the National Black Police Association, went to X/Twitter to call the allegations 'dubious' and that the case 'will show the corruption at play within the misconduct system'.

What exactly is it that Andy wants them 'protected' from, their own conduct?

I Guess, Looking At Her....

...a false claim for rape wouldn't have been believable, so a false claim of stabbing had to suffice:
Three teenagers were arrested after a 24-year-old PCSO was found with a 'serious' knife wound in her arm - but now she has been accused of stabbing herself in order to claim compensation. Olivia Morphew, 24, reported being knifed during an attack in Esher, Surrey in June 2023. Three teenage boys were arrested later that day in nearby Claygate on suspicion of attempted murder and a kitchen knife with a 9cm stainless steel blade was recovered at the scene.

Fast work for the cops!

At the time, Surrey Police said it was 'appalled' by the alleged attack. However, it's now been alleged that PCSO Morphew stabbed herself and subsequently submitted a compensation claim for her injuries.

*sighs*

The former PSCO will now appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with perverting the course of justice, fraud and possession of a knife in a public place.

DEI hires. Are any of them any good?
