Thanks For Proving The Case Against, Beth...

She's an A level student in Cornwall, apparently, though the 'Guardian' neglects to tell us what subjects she's studying.

Like many other young people across the country, I feel helpless when watching the actions of this government, knowing that I have no say over the decisions being made. Instead, we’re forced to watch older members of the public – especially the oldest, who turn out at the highest rate – cast their vote on what will ultimately impact us the most.
This is perhaps most stark in the case of global heating.

Well, I'm guessing it's not history or geography then, if she's swallowed the Great Green Delusion. Maybe she just wasn't paying attention in class?

...we have to sit back and watch as the UK grants 100 oil and gas production licences for the North Sea, and as Rishi Sunak flies in a jet from Leeds to London, a journey that would only take about two hours by train.

But Beth, if we don't have a secure power generating capacity for the future, there's nothing more important for 'your generation's future' than that. Do you want to have no TikTok every time the wind doesn't blow?

A voting age of 16 can already be seen in Scotland, where the outcome has been overwhelmingly positive.

Ha ha ha ha!

Many young people see politics as boring and corrupt, and therefore waste their vote, meaning that their voice isn’t heard. Lowering the voting age to 16 would encourage political engagement, a vital part of democracy.
The Conservative party has consistently failed young people over the course of its 14 years in power, with more than 270,000 children waiting for mental health treatment...

Stop imagining that boys can become girls and vice versa and you might not have so many problems.

In primary school, we are taught to speak up for ourselves, be curious and make our own decisions. Well, now is the time to practise what you preach, and let us have our say.

We expect you to have grown up and no longer have primary school attitudes, though.

Can we take this little brat to school in the comments? Reader, we can not....

I Guess The Police Would Rather Hunt Foxes..?

A woman has called for urgent police action after a bully-type dog bit her on the leg in Paignton. The victim limped home alone after the owner of the dog ran away from the scene near Oldway Mansion. She needed hospital treatment to stitch the bloody wound inflicted by the animal. The 55-year-old nurse says she was terrified by the incident, which happened on Thursday of last week, and fears other people could be hurt unless the owner and dog are traced.

Hurt, or even killed.

Paramedics called police on her behalf but she says nobody has visited her and her calls to 101 have received no follow-up.
"They haven't really helped," she said. "I called for update and the police said they couldn’t do anything. My worry is that the dog might do it again. There must be cameras in the area that police can check."
Police can't worry about dogs, they have bigger game to pursue:
What's more of a danger? Dogs, or people refusing to be cowed by political edicts? I guess we know now.

Might As Well Fit Revolving Doors...

The wife of a man beaten so badly he was left brain damaged says she is a 'wreck' after it emerged one of his killers (sic) will walk free in weeks.
Wait, surely not this case..? Well, Reader, yes. Of course.

Not the two main perpetrators, though who'd be surprised at that these days? Their fellow thug, who received a lesser sentence:
...Furlong only received 20 months. Due to time already spent on remand, he is now set to be released within the next four weeks, despite only being sentenced in June.

It's a farce.

Mr Willson's wife Annie told ITV: 'Emotionally I am a wreck. I can't allow my feelings to be shown because I have children.
'Our whole life has been turned upside down. Everyone thinks justice has been done. But really coming out after two months, that's not justice.'

Everybody doesn't think justice has been done, Annie. Far from it.

And not just with the wretched excuse for a justice system we have in this country, either:

Alan now has hearing problems, dental problems, cannot go to the toilet by himself or take care of his personal hygiene.
The couple are struggling to get benefits or any compensation because Alan cannot even sign his own name.

Compare and contrast that with the resources of the state that will be offering help and assistance to this piece of excrement when he skips out of the prison doors, and you begin to wonder how a country can function like this for much longer...

Public Enemies In 2021...

A football fan has been charged in connection with a racist social media post shared online following the Euro 2020 final.
Scott McCluskey, 43, from Runcorn will appear at Warrington Magistrates' Court next month charged with sending an offensive/abusive message by a public communication network.

Wow, the cops are really going for the tough busts, aren't they? No staking out burglar-targeted warehouses in the cold for them, oh no! Or doing the legwork on other cases that one might suggest have a far higher priority since it's not just feelings that were hurt.

What did this chap say that made this such a priority for the cops?

Police are yet to give details on the wording use, or who it allegedly targeted.

Huh! Fancy that...

Mark Roberts, Chief Constable of Cheshire Constabulary and the National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC) lead for football policing, spoke out against the racism targeted at members of the England team.
'Hate crime in any form is simply not acceptable,' he said at the time.
'The racial abuse aimed at our own players following Sunday night's game was totally abhorrent and has quite rightly shocked and appalled people across the country.
'Those in the England team have been true role models throughout the tournament, conducting themselves with professionalism and dignity. '

Really?

Good thing you didn't say that under oath, eh, Mark?

And those wondering if this predicts a downturn in the force's capacity to fight real crime, well, it's a bit late:
Chair of the force’s 'enable staff support network', David McMahon, said: “The force has moved forward so much in terms of the development, support and understanding of dyslexia and other conditions in recent years.
“I am proud, for the whole of the enable network that I lead, to have been part of that journey and to receive the SMART award accolade is further recognition of the Constabulary’s commitment to its colleagues with neuro-diverse colleagues.
“With the introduction of further trained assessors in the future we will be looking to offer more support to those joining the organisation who may not be aware of their conditions.
“Dyslexia and other conditions shouldn’t be seen as a blocker to entry, promotion and further opportunities within the force.”

Clearly, it's not. Like excessive wokeness, it might even be an advantage!

We Need To Revise That Old Saying...

"Screwdrivers and fists and permanent disability can be excused..."

Thurston, previously from Canterbury but now living in Dubai, spoke only to confirm guilty pleas to violent disorder and shoplifting.
He was sentenced to 18-months in a Young Offenders Institute suspended for two years.

"...but names are bad and hurtful!"

Skewed Priorities...

'We need to find out who these people are and make examples of them. ... 'Perpetrators should be getting a knock on the door from the police and facing the full force of the law.'
Finally, a law and order Tory government demands tough action against...well, who?

Feral animals making our streets danger zones?

Well, no. It's people who tweet monkey pictures at grossly overpaid black football players. But isn't that a task for the social media companies? Are they doing nothing?
Twitter yesterday revealed how it has removed more than 1,000 racist posts targeting England football stars following the defeat.

So why is the government weighing in?

Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden said yesterday that he shared the anger at the abuse, adding: 'Social media companies need to up their game in addressing it and, if they fail to, our new Online Safety Bill will hold them to account with fines of up to 10 per cent of global revenue.'

Ah. Of course.

Not A 'Humbling Moment', So Much As An Illuminating One...

National counter-terrorism police had to rely on updates from Twitter for nearly two hours after the Manchester Arena attack, the inquiry has heard.

Wait, what?

The SO15 Reserve, a 24-hour operations centre for national counter-terrorism operations, was still having to rely on Twitter for information at 12.13am, nearly two hours after the attack.

The evidence is being given by this man.

"I think they must have been listening to the force radio or heard something happen in that area and he had contacted his wife and said, 'Don't go to sleep because it looks like something's happening',"

Great! The terrorist response is reliant on gossip from a friend of a friend...

Mr Basu said social media could be a help but added: "It's a massive hindrance when there's so much of it that it takes experienced detectives and analysts a long time to go through the material and that obviously could divert resources."

You aren't kidding! So...why did you have to rely on it?

The force duty officer at Greater Manchester Police, who was supposed to notify SO15, was said to be "overloaded" and had to get a junior officer to answer his phone.

Perhaps recruiting police officers on the basis of their skin colour, religion or gender rather than their ability to deal with pressure isn't a winning strategy, eh, GMP?

Or maybe they should, in any future terrorist attack, just tell callers to ask the terrorist what he wants and give it to him?

Which One Gets The Banner Headlines In National Newspapers?

Accident:
The family of an elderly woman who was hit by a police motorbike in the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s motorcade has revealed the full extent of her injuries.
Irene Mayor, 83, has suffered a broken pelvis, broken arms, a broken leg and bad head wounds after she was hit by the bike in Richmond, west London, on Monday.
Her tearful sister, 89-year-old Joyce Shore, told the Daily Mail that Ms Mayor “may not get through this”.
Deliberate assault:
The 74-year-old was walking his dog on a narrow footpath at the end of Honeysuckle Lane in Worthing at about 5pm on Monday.
A cyclist sped down the lane on his bike and viciously attacked him. The man was taken to Worthing Hospital by his family, where he is still being treated for major bruising to his face and left ribs and a fractured pelvis.
The pensioner told police he had spoken to the cyclist before the incident about his speed.
Anything to put the boot in, eh, MSM?

The World Has Gone Mad...

Britain's most senior paediatrician has called for a 100-fold increase in weight loss operations on children to ward off an impending 'obesity apocalypse'.
Professor Russell Viner, president of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH), said NHS surgery for overweight teens could be the only way to 'rescue' them from the 'vicious cycle' of a poor diet and bad health.
Can the NHS afford this? Well...
This Morning viewers gushed over the antics of an adorable three-year-old guest's antics on Friday's show.
Benjamin Wayne was on the show with his mother Joanna, from Carshalton, Surrey, who was there to discuss how his NHS funding bid for cochlear hearing implants was rejected.
He has a condition called Connexin 26, which has left him with only slight hearing in his left ear. Though his hearing is significantly impaired, he does not qualify for the implants under current NHS guidelines - meaning his family are now trying to raise £80,000 for private treatment.

If Only They Were As Keen On Stopping Drug Dealing!

Bolton Magistrates Court heard that Ali, aged 46, had been refused a street trading licence in 2016.
But the council’s licensing team received a tip-off last year that he was still selling ice cream at summer fairs and events. The team shared Ali’s vehicle details with schools across the borough and, on May 26, 2017, staff at Bolton School noticed an ice cream van trading outside the Kidzone childcare centre in Dobson Road.
The eagle-eyed Miss Hincks noticed that the vehicle registration of the van matched the one circulated by licensing and went to speak to the driver. As she approached the van, two girls were coming away from the vehicle eating ice creams. She asked to see Ali’s licence, but he drove off and she later reported the incident to the licensing unit.
Still, being England, at least we can find some humour in the situation:

Well played!
