Let's Check In On How David Paulden's Green Party Is Doing...

A Birmingham Green Party city councillor has been charged with attacking a member of the public, three police officers and a member of police staff.

Oh. Oh dear.

Siobhan Harper-Nunes, 66, was arrested on suspicion of assault after police were called to the junction of Monument Road and Hagley Road in the city, at about 17:00 BST on 6 August. Harper-Nunes, of Monument Road, was charged the following day. West Midlands Police said that she was arrested again at Monument Road on Wednesday morning on suspicion of harassment. She remained in custody while inquiries continued, police said. Harper-Nunes will appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on 10 September on the assault charges, the force said.

Sounds like a domestic, where she redirected on the cops who turned up.

The Birmingham Green Party has been approached for comment.

What can they really say?

A Hat Trick!

A woman has died after being attacked by two dogs at a house in Wolverhampton. Emergency crews were sent to Willis Pearson Avenue, in the Bilston area of the city, at about 23:30 BST on Wednesday after reports a woman in her 70s had been injured. She died at the scene, West Midlands Police said.

And at least the taxpayer won’t be on the hook until any trial of the owner this time:

The dogs, not believed to be a banned breed, were later destroyed and had continued to be aggressive towards emergency services at the scene, the force added.
A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control and causing injury resulting in death. He was taken to hospital after receiving hand injuries.

The breed hasn’t been established, but there are clues:

Mr Wright said the two dogs were 'Rotweiller-like' and very powerful.
'They were really big dogs,' he said.
'The other day a bloke was walking down the road with his kid and they turned back because of the dogs.
'I used to see the guy who lived with Carol walking them, but it was more like them walking him, they would drag him down the road.
'He had no control over them whatsoever.
'The two dogs had been there about two or three months.

Maybe Rottweilers, maybe the new monster on the block, the Cane Corso. Maybe some crossbreed. But undoubtedly a risk to the neighbourhood.

If only neighbours felt confident that the authorities would act on reports of this, the tragedy might have been avoided. But clearly they didn’t.

I Think The Phrase Is: 'You're Bang To Rights, Son!'

Police chiefs facing scrutiny over a decision to ban fans of an Israeli football team from attending a match in Birmingham have insisted the move was not politically influenced. West Midlands police (WMP) leaders defended their position at the home affairs committee on Tuesday after being recalled to give further evidence over the decision to ban fans of Maccabi Tel Aviv from attending a Europa League match against Aston Villa on 6 November.

Just the WMP living down to their reputation, or something more sinister?

Members of the home affairs committee on Tuesday recalled West Midlands police’s chief constable Craig Guildford, and commanders involved in the decision making, greeting parts of the force’s new testimony before them with outrage.Police said they had intelligence the Israeli fans would be the main perpetrators of trouble, a claim that is disputed.

The one thing guarenteed to irk politicians is when their pets in blue start lying to them. That's something they are free only to do to us, the public who are paying for them.

The cross-party committee of MPs said parts of the intelligence gathering seemed “one sided”, inflating the threat Maccabi fans may have posed while underplaying the threat to them from those in Birmingham angered by Israel’s attacks on Gaza. They said the minutes from SAG meetings showed pressure coming from two councillors, who said that away fans should not attend the game.

And we can guess who those two councillors were. Or rather, what they were.

As intelligence was being gathered ahead of the game, one document contained claims locals in Birmingham might “arm” themselves.

'Locals' with good old Birmingham names? I suspect not.

Guildford denied he or the police force were politically motivated to find evidence to justify the ban. “From everything that I’ve read, and the commanders that I spoke to, I do not believe that there was political influence on that decision.
“Lots of local politicians and local members of the community I’m sure wanted to try and influence it, but I honestly don’t think it was influenced,” he told the committee.

You couldn't lie straight in bed, Guildford. Even if you were to be believed, and we were to accept that you honestly believe that, it makes you a disgrace to the uniform and a total liability due to extreme gullibility...

The Only Surprise Here Is It's Not The Met!

If you were asked, it would be a toss up between the Met or the WMP, the two worst police forces in the land:

A police chief has been told to go back to Parliament amid claims he provided 'shoddy evidence' while explaining the decision behind a ban on Maccabi Tel Aviv fans attending an Aston Villa match last month.
The Home Affairs Select Committee has written to West Midlands Chief Constable Craig Guildford to provide 'further evidence' amid claims he misled MPs when he appeared in front of the committee on December 1.
Daily Mail understands it is the first time a Chief Constable has been recalled to Parliament in this way.
You'd think they'd be more competent liars, at least wouldn't you? Or is it all just a publicity stunt?

Well, You're The PM, What Do You Plan To Do About It?

Sir Keir Starmer called the move to block fans attending "wrong", adding "we will "not tolerate antisemitism on our streets", while there has also been criticism from other party leaders.

This is the decision to ban Israeli fans from attending a football match. Why? Well…

On Thursday, Aston Villa said the city's Safety Advisory Group (SAG) - which advises the council on whether to issue safety certificates - decided that fans of the Israeli club should not be permitted to attend the Europa League fixture on 6 November. On Friday evening the government said it would do "everything in our power" to make sure all fans could attend the match, adding that it was exploring what additional resources were required.

Why would additional resources be required, I mean, over and above those for any other football match? Could it be that there’s a sizeable population here in the UK that can’t be expected to control themselves whern Jews are on the streets being openly Jewish? Apart from the Met Police, that is?

We all know the real reason for this ban.

On Thursday, West Midlands Police said it had classified the fixture as "high risk" based on current intelligence and previous incidents, including "violent clashes and hate crime offences" between Ajax and Maccabi Tel Aviv fans before a match in Amsterdam in November 2024. More than 60 people were arrested over the violence, which city officials described as a "toxic combination of antisemitism, hooliganism, and anger" over the war in Gaza, Israel and elsewhere in the Middle East.

How many of those 60 people were Israeli fans? Or doesn’t that even matter to plod who want a quiet life?

Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch said the revelation left the Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood, with "serious questions to answer" about why her department did "nothing" to avert the ban. She said: "This is a weak government that fails to act when required."

Well, you should know, I guess, Kemi....

A source close to Mahmood told the BBC that "this is categorically untrue".

Then call your dogs to heel. Unless secretly, you agree with the action they've taken.

I Can't Keep Up With Them....

 ...fatal dog maulings, that is.

Police were last night urgently hunting up to three bulldog-like dogs suspected of mauling their owner’s brother to death. Officers were called to Hereford Close in Rubery, West Mids, in the early hours of Wednesday after receiving reports of dogs on the loose - and an awful smell coming from one garden.
A 33-year-old man, named locally as Niko, was found dead in the back garden of a property, where he had been looking after the dogs for his brother.
Looking after these murder mutts is a risky business, just yesterday we had the awful story of a man whose kind heart led him to a horrible death in the jaws of an XL bully he'd voliunteered to look after, and now this.
West Midlands Police initially said two dogs were seized at the scene and two further dogs may have also been at the address at the time and could now be at large in the area. But in a later statement, Insp Leanne Chapman said there were ‘definitely’ two dogs yet to be found and ‘potentially’ three dogs.
‘They may be together or they may be separated,’ she said, adding that the man in the house had been found with ‘bite injuries’.None of the dogs involved are believed to be a banned breed such as an XL Bully, but are thought to be similar American Bulldog types.

Maybe it's time they were added to the list then. But back to the bad smell.

Neighbour Charlene Newman, 40, told the Mail she had called the police after smelling a foul stench coming from the garden. She said: ‘It was a really bad smell. Like something rotting and it was coming from the bottom of the hedge in the back garden. I didn’t see a body but then the police came and put up a tent while they recovered it.‘

So just how long had he been dead?

And when reading this, the place name rang a bell. And here's why. It will be karma if these beasts were responsible for that, won't it, Reader?

And The Beat Goes On...

....and on and on.
A schoolgirl has been rushed to hospital after she was mauled by an unregistered XL Bully as she played in the garden. The 10-year-old, who was bitten in the neck by the out-of-control animal, remains in hospital as the summer holidays begin, while a woman, 37, and two teenagers, aged 13 and 15, have been arrested. The woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of a banned breed of dog, allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control and child neglect. Meanwhile, the two teens were arrested on suspicion of allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control and possession of a banned breed of dog. They have since been released from custody. The dog was seized at the scene and remains in police kennels.

And over in Coventry meanwhile...

A mother was mauled to death by a family dog which had never previously shown any signs of aggression, her partner said last night. Kelly Reilly, 33, was discovered 'unresponsive' in her flat in Coventry by her horrified partner Noel Spring, 50, shortly after midday yesterday. Paramedics rushed to the scene in a matter of minutes, but, despite their efforts, Ms Reilly died a short time later, according to West Midlands Police. The dog - understood to be a bull mastiff - was seized by officers, the force said.

Who exactly is it that 'understands it to be a bull mastiff'..? The owner, who was clearly an animal lover, despite seemingly not having the resources to manage such a breed?

Ms Reilly had two children who no longer live with her and was unemployed due to her poor health and history of seizures, Mr Spring said.

The police are characteristically clueless, or want us to think they are:

Police said they did not believe the dog was a banned breed, following the recent spate of fatal attacks involving XL Bullies.'Although the breed of the dog is yet to be confirmed, at this stage we do not believe it to be of a banned breed. However, a full assessment will be required before we can confirm this.'

Here's what the useless bastards claim to believe what they are told is a pure bred English Bull Mastiff:

It couldn't be any more of a 'pitbull type dog' if it had a toddler's arm in its jaws...

Here's a breed-standard stock image:

I'm Sure These Are Aberrations...

Three police forces are investigating suspected antisemitic hate speech at four separate mosques around Britain, it was reported last night. Footage of preachers calling for Jews to be slaughtered and Israel to be destroyed has been handed to detectives at West Midlands Police, Scotland Yard and Northamptonshire Police by reporters from TalkTV.
The broadcaster reported that a preacher at the Redbridge Islamic Centre in Ilford, east London, asked his congregation in Arabic to join him in cursing the Jews and children of Israel.

I'm sure it doesn't go on in more than just these handful of mosques. Aren't you, Reader?

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said its officers continued to make a number of enquiries after being made aware of the video but there had been no arrests.

Gosh, another surprise! Well, that's the Met for you,

West Midland and Northamptonshire police forces confirmed officers were assessing the contents of a number of videos to determine whether a criminal offence had been committed.

Oh. Police cowardice. Something else that's pretty widespread, then...

He Was Breathing Just Fine, Though...

During the video, the teenage boy's mother can also be heard hysterically in the background shouting 'what the f*** have you done to my son?' She adds: 'Watch his asthma, his asthma, look he can't breathe, he's a child.'
...when he was getting into a ruck with neighbours and police.
West Midlands Police said they were originally called to a 'neighbour dispute' and the boy was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an officer, and criminal damage. Officers said 'several residents' had been arguing and there were 'allegations of physical violence'.

That's Hull for you!

Yes, Zoe, And Their Owners, Too...

Following yesterday's indication that the authorities had finally woken up, here come the apologists barking and snapping at the people pointing out the problem.

First up were the useless West Midlands farce, no doubt eager to deflect blame from themselves, describing the crazed animal as 'a puppy' that was 'suffering from heat exhaustion'. One might wonder at a police farce that shows more concern for a killer animal than the girl it was mauling. Police certainly didn't pause when one of their own was mauled by one of their own dogs, did they?

Hot on their heels and snarling aggressively comes Zoe Williams, who has as much form as the XL Bully breed, for whom it's 'doggy classism and racism':

...it was never only about the dogs – it was also about the owners. When people muttered: “It’s not the dogs – it’s the owners”, it felt heavily class-coded; that these were the types of dogs kept by the wrong type of people.
...
Sociologists in the US describe something similar but refracted through race, Julie LaBagnara contending that “middle- and upper-class ‘white dogs’… receive social allowances that dogs associated with people of colour do not”.
What would we do without sociologists, eh, Zoe..?

So, yes, there may well be 'a path through this that starts with a muzzle order and doesn’t go immediately to the gallows', but leaving out the gallows to appease people like you hasn't exactly been an unqualified success story with people, has it?

Has The Penny Finally Dropped?

Home Secretary Suella Braverman is now pushing for a ban of the American XL Bully breed, arguing they are a 'clear and lethal danger' - particularly to children.

What took you so long?

On Sunday West Midlands Police launched an investigation into what went wrong.

Oh, this'll be good!

A force spokesman said: 'We're investigating after three people were bitten by a dog in Birmingham yesterday.
'An 11-year-old girl ran past the dog as it was being walked by its owner in Bordesley Green, when she was bitten.
'Two men intervened but were bitten and left with injuries to their shoulders and arms.
'They were taken to hospital to be treated for their injuries.

And you turned up and shot the animal and arrested the owner, right?

Right?

'The dog was initially taken to a local vet to be checked over before being taken into secure kennels while the investigation continues.
'The owner of the dog has been spoken to by officers.'

I think we can clearly see what went wrong - the WMP aren't fit for purpose.

Stop 'Restraining' Them And Start Shooting Them!

Cardiff:
In Cardiff on Tuesday evening, members of the public bravely intervened to protect a dog that was being viciously attacked by another dog. The shocking scene unfolded on Connaught Road in Roath, with witnesses describing the chaos and efforts of the public to restrain the aggressive animal. Eyewitnesses recounted the horrifying moment when a large dog, resembling a pitbull, "locked its jaws around a white cockapoo", causing severe injuries and leaving a pool of blood on the pavement.
“Loads of people came out of their houses and there were people screaming. Loads of police turned up and armed police too and they were spraying it with some sort of gas. They were here until about 8.50pm so it took a while. People then came up and scrubbed the street. It was horrific.”
Coventry:
Footage of a dog attack, after which an animal was Tasered before being contained in a wheelie bin, has been released by police. The move was necessary to stop the "out of control" animal which posed a risk to people nearby, including children, police said.
"Contrary to reports on social media, the dog was not hit by a police car and was not killed," said West Midlands Police."Despite speculation" the animal is safe and well and being looked after in kennels, police said.

Is this failure to do what needs to be done because of the efforts of the 'Aww, poor doggie!' crowd and the #pitnutters to try to have the cop that did what was necessary in Limehouse charged with something?

Because if so, someone's going to get seriously hurt or even killed if they keep being so hesitant even when they have armed officers on scene...

Why Keep A Dog And Bark Yourself?

And why send armed police and not use them?
Armed police responded to reports of a 'dangerously out of control dog' attacking people 'at random' in the West Midlands earlier today.
Six people were reported to have been bitten, including a child and an elderly man.

There's been far too many of these incidents lately.

Police arrested a 28-year-old man in connection to the alleged attacks at Willow Gardens, Winson Green.

And the mutts? Shot in the street?

Police were called shortly after 2.30pm and seized two dogs, which have since been kennelled.

*sighs* I guess there'll be many, many more then...

Are You Reassured, Public..?

So, Cllr Aziz, how did it all go?
West Midlands Police officers, Trading Standards, Environmental Health and Licensing teams led a joint operation on the busy road to address complaints of alleged illegal vendors. The action came following a mass of complaints from residents, who claimed Ramadan turned into '30 days of hell' on Coventry Road.

Excellent, robust action is just what's needed he...

Angry chants, pig noises and blaring car horns echoed down Coventry Road as police were chased away trying to speak to pop-up market traders. On what was supposed to be a night of community engagement in Ramadan, crowds turned on officials responding to concerns about anti-social behaviour on the Small Heath-based road.

Oh.

Prior to the operation, Sergeant James Newton, Supervisor for Small Heath and Highgate, said: "The purpose is to enforce legislation around illegal pop-up trading tents, nuisance, anti-social behaviour and general increase. We have seen a marked increase of dissatisfaction from the local community about illegal trading, which creates heavy foot flow in the area and has a direct impact on the local community.
"The ultimate goal is to reassure the public..."

Do you think they are reassured, James?

Hey, BOGOF* Exists In The Police Too!

Officers had executed a warrant at the address at Merton House, Crabtree Drive, Chelmsley Wood, just after 9am today, Saturday, January 7.
West Midlands Police said a man, aged in his 20s, had jumped from the balcony of a fourth floor flat.
Witnesses said the Midlands Air Ambulance had landed nearby. A 47-year-old man was arrested for failing to appear at court and remains in custody. Inquiries are ongoing.
He's obviously done something to feel guilty enough to jump, after all!

No, WMP, You're Doing That Yourselves...

A policewoman who made up a story about transphobia in the workplace during a job interview for a promotion has been found guilty of gross misconduct.
Disgraced Sergeant Sarah Srivastava was given a final written warning after she lied that colleagues had discriminated against a transgender officer and that she had stepped in to challenge their behaviour.
During the misconduct hearing, the counsel for the West Midlands Police condemned Srivastava for bringing ‘discredit to the police service’ and for undermining ‘public confidence’ in the force.
...by not sacking her.

Why Are You Asking Questions To Which You Already Know The Answers..?

Questions are being asked about how the boy was able to ride the scooter when Voi’s policy states riders must be over 18 and hold a provisional driving licence, as well as a valid payment method.

Hmmm, who was the boy?

A 12-year-old boy who was killed riding an e-scooter that collided with a bus in Birmingham has been named as Mustafa Nadeem.

Ah!

The West Midlands assistant police and crime commissioner Tom McNeil said “new questions were needed over Voi age verification” after Mustafa’s death.

No questions for the parents, then?

Were they unaware their son was breaking the law? Did they not know how he was getting to school?

Police said Mustafa’s family were being kept updated as they establish the full circumstances of the incident, and had asked to be allowed to grieve in private.

So is there to be no questions for them at all?

And We Wonder Why They Take A Knee...

A new police recruit was granted permission to take an 8in snail to work in order to help calm his nerves - but it has since died.

*blinks*

It is believed that West Midlands Police did not receive a complaint because officers were prepped with an unofficial 'wellness' policy that was put in place in an attempt to make sure recruits got through their training.

Why would we want them to? If they can't cope with the training, home they go!

The rookie officer has since left the force...

Whew! Dodged a bullet there.

Wait!

In the latest revelations coming out of the force, sources also revealed that a female officer was permitted to cover her head with a blanked (sic) at her desk as a coping mechanism for her anxiety.

Oh, FFS!!!

What's There To 'Assess'..?

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: 'We were called to Gallagher Retail Park in Coventry on Monday June 6 to reports a child had been bitten by a dog. The seven-year-old and her mother who suffered bruising were treated at the scene by paramedics.
'The dog, a German shepherd was seized under Section 3 of the Dangerous Dog Act. An investigation will now take place and the dog's behaviour will be assessed.'
A sustained attack on a child and then, when the child was finally pulled from its jaws, on the mother who leaped in to defend her child, should have seen it taken back to Pets At Home to be destoyed by a vet then and there. Or shot in front of the useless owner by a police marksman.

But no, it gets to sit in expensive kennels for weeks. We're mad in this country.

Friday, 22 April 2022

"We may as well have sabre toothed tigers back on the streets."

"The only concern expressed by the despicable owners of this animal was that we had been hitting their dog."

Of course! It's typical in these cases.

Perhaps the police would have come quicker if the owner and the helpful bystanders had been laying into the owners with punches and kicks from steel-toecapped boots instead?

"An officer from the West Midlands Police Dangerous Dog Unit told me 'American XL Bullys are flavour of the month right now'," Alan said.

Imagine that. The problem is so bad some farces are actually setting up units...

"I predict that over the next 12 to 18 months we will see a massive rise in the number of attacks and fatalities as a result of unscrupulous breeding of these dogs.
"It is also worth noting that as well as an XL Bully there is an XXL Bully. No doubt someone somewhere is working on the creation of a triple XXXL bully."

Like some mad ghetto version of Dr Wu, tinkering with genetic codes the old fashioned way to produce what they need...

"The law needs to be changed to stop breeders from 'tweaking' the DNA of killer dogs and claiming that they are legal breeds."

If only we had lawmakers worthy of the name...
