You Just Can’t Save People From Themselves!

Much furore about the Kiena Dawes case, and most of the approbium falling on the police who 'failed to save her'.
During a six-week trial, Preston Crown Court heard how the hard-drinking, cocaine-snorting body-builder went from professing undying love to his girlfriend to physically and mentally breaking her. He punched and kicked Kiena, tried to drown her by holding her head in a baby bath and threatened to 'drill her teeth out'.

Did this come out of the blue? Was there no clue that he was a wrong ‘un?

In 2019 he attacked his then-partner, Kayleigh Anderson, following a two-day coke and booze session with an uncle.

Didn't think so! Why, then, did she shack up with him? He was a friend of her brother - did her brother not warn her?

In the 12 months before she killed herself, she called police no less than five times either to report that she had been assaulted or give details of the domestic abuse she had suffered. On four of the occasions, she was visited by officers at her home. Twice she had visible injuries, including a black eye when she was six months pregnant.

And the police did their best, within the laws, but….

But Kiena was so scared of Wellings that it was only when he brutally assaulted her in front of their baby, 11 days before she died, that she finally backed efforts to prosecute him.

*sighs*

Even then, police failed to support her as they might have, granting Wellings bail and then failing to lock him up when he apparently breached his bail conditions.'I was in hospital longer than he was in the cells,' she would write in a message shortly before she killed herself.

They can only withhold bail under certain circumstances, thanks to the crisis in our prisons - they don’t make that law, they just carry it out.

Wellings was not charged until June last year but when he was the charges not only included assault and controlling and coercive behaviour but manslaughter as well, for which he has been cleared.

By the jury, and I suspect the police involved were as furious about that as everyone else...

Following Kiena's death, Lancashire Constabulary referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) over its handling of the case and the contact they had with her. The police watchdog later announced that it found one officer had a case to answer for gross misconduct and two officers had a case to answer for misconduct relating to actions or omissions connected to the victim's reports of domestic abuse.

I wouldn't consider that any sort of victory, as the bar is so low on these things.

It's A Matter Of National Shame That They Were Ever Under Investigation In The First Place....

...but then, the animal lovers who complained will never accept the harm these dogs (originally thought to have been XL Bullies, now confirmed as the latest menace, Cane Corsos) can cause:
Metropolitan Police firearms officers who shot dead two dangerous dogs during a stand-off on a canal towpath have been cleared of wrongdoing.
On Friday, Scotland Yard said the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) had concluded its investigation into the incident, finding that the incident had been handled correctly.

Why on earth did it ever take so long? The video of the incident was quite clear!

Detective Chief Superintendent James Conway, who leads policing in the area, said: “The IOPC investigation has been extensive, examining every aspect of what happened that day and scrutinising body worn video, mobile phone footage and CCTV of the incident as well as consulting dangerous dog experts.
“The investigation found the officers faced a really challenging situation and made numerous attempts to get the owner of the aggressive animals - after they had attacked a woman and her dog - to surrender them to prevent further injury to anyone.
“The officers demonstrated impressive restraint and bravery in trying to resolve the situation in the face of the owner repeatedly refusing to comply, and only took further action when they were left with no choice after the dogs came free of the man’s grip.”

What a total waste of IOPC time. Hopefully this will give the cops renewed confidence in dealing with dangerous dogs in the future, and we will see more action taken like that from the US cops.

Maybe You’re The One Who’s Wrong About The Value Of His Role, George?

Bob Lambert worked for the Metropolitan police’s Special Demonstration Squad (SDS) in the 1980s and 1990s, first as an undercover cop infiltrating environmental and animal rights protests, then as operational controller of the squad, supervising other spy cops doing similar work. In the course of his undercover assignments, while posing as a radical activist called Bob Robinson, he deceived four unsuspecting women, innocent of any crime, into starting relationships. He stole his identity from a dead child.

*yawns* He used a trick right out of Freddie Foersyth's 'Day of the Jackal'. So what?

With one of the women, Jacqui, he fathered a child. Two years later, he vanished. She discovered his true identity by chance more than 20 years later, and has yet to recover from the devastating shock. She says she feels “raped by the state”. The person she loved and trusted was a ghost.

Oh, dry your eyes! You're not the first woman to feel betrayerd, and you won't be the last.

These fake relationships were standard practice in the team of spy cops Lambert ran. The officers used similar seduction techniques, built similar falsehoods about their lives and used similar methods for destroying or abandoning the relationships when they were redeployed. It looks like a refined, state-sanctioned grooming operation. As Helen Steel, another woman deceived by a spy cop, remarked, “there weren’t any genuine moments – they were purely manipulative and abusive. …. it was as if he set out to destroy my sanity.”
The great majority of the people being spied on were peaceful activists who presented no danger to democracy or human life.

Which we know because they were spied on, George. That's the point.

We love spy series, spy novels, spy films, how do we think these spies really operate? It's not a world of Aston Martins, shaken Martinis and roulette wheels all the time - it's often convincing some dim bird on reception to look the other way while you access the visitor's book.

None of the spy cops have suffered legal consequences, though activities such as identity theft and entering homes without a warrant are illegal. Their pensions remain intact, they have kept their medals and commendations. On Tuesday at the inquiry, Belinda Harvey, one of the women deceived into an 18-month relationship with Lambert, damned him as a “cruel and manipulative” liar. But the authorities see him differently. In 2008, Lambert received an MBE for services to the police.

As well he should - he did a man's job. The only reason people like you are squawking about it is you sympathise with the 'victims'.

They Aren't Superhuman....

A mother has vowed to fight for justice for her 15-year-old daughter who was electrocuted on railway tracks, as the coroner says police failings may be to blame. A jury will decide whether the actions of police officers led to the death of Roxy Phillips, who died on the railway tracks in Weymouth, Dorset.

So, how did this happen? Did they stand by and do nothing? No, Reader, they did what they could:

Senior Coroner Rachel Griffin said there was reason to suspect the actions of police officers could have caused Roxy's death, which requires a jury inquest to be held. Mrs Griffin said:
'CCTV captured Roxy at Weymouth train station at around 12.57am and showed her walking onto the tracks.
'A minute later a member of the public called Dorset Police to report a person on the railway line.
'Dorset Police notified Network Rail of a member of the public on the line and requested the electricity to be switched off. 'Officers from Dorset Police were called to investigate the report of trespassers and arrived at the scene at 1.15am.
'At 1.17am officers reported that they could not see anyone on the tracks. They thought there was no point going onto the tracks as there is multiple places that people can leave the tracks.
'Dorset Police stood down and handed the incident over to British Transport Police (BTP). 'In line with Network Rail procedures, the emergency switch off was lifted after no trespassers were found.
'At 2.06am paramedics were called to Roxy's aid, but she died at the scene.

They turned up. looked for her, couldn't find her and stood down. What else were they supposed to do, lock out an entire train line until she was located?

This Is Why We Have A Youth Problem

A police officer has been charged after being accused of "putting his hands around the throat" of a 14-year-old girl in Basildon.

For fun, or in accordance with his job?

PC Thomas White, 30, will appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court on October 21, 2024, charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH), relating to the officer’s use of force on the child. This comes after an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC). The investigation relates to an incident in Basildon on March 27, 2024, when a child was arrested by PC White.
During the arrest it is alleged that the officer used PAVA spray on the child, and then later at hospital it is alleged that excessive force was used by the officer when he struck the child with his knee and put his hands around their throat.

Just imagine what this little hellion must have been like, to warrant this?

Melanie Williams, defending, told the court: ‘The defendant will be saying he was acting in self-defence, and in defence of the victim who was self-harming at the time, and the public.’
He is next due to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on 18 November.

Should have let her. But then, no doubt he'd be put on trial for that, too...

One to watch with interest.

Now Let’s Hear The Charges They Were Arrested On…

Black children are more than six times more likely than white children to be subjected to a strip-search by police, a new study shows. Of the forces in England and Wales that provided data for the study, 10 showed a disparity where black people were 10 times more likely to be strip-searched. Sussex police were 18 times more likely to subject a black person to a strip search.
Black adults were 4.7 times more likely than white adults to be told they must strip, and black children are 6.5 times more likely than their white counterparts.

And maybe that's a function of the things they are arrested for? Drugs charges and weapons charges, where a search is as much for the safety of the suspect as anything else.

The data covers the year until March 2023 and the trust says the data is another example of institutional racism, which most forces deny exists.
Dr Shabna Begum, chief executive of the Runnymede Trust, said: “Strip searches are inherently violent, humiliating and harmful, especially for children.

You know what else is 'violent, humiliating and harmful', Shabna? Being stabbed to death because you've inadvertantly crossed an invisible line.

“Strip-searching is such an invasive procedure, and when deployed with this level of racialised disproportionality, by police forces riddled with institutional racism, the harm reaches way beyond the individual child or person.
“If we actually want to build safer communities and safeguard our children, we need to invest in our social infrastructure and ensure people have the opportunities and resources to thrive and flourish.”

And maybe parents should check where little Ahmed has got those new trainers from?

The Met said it had made changes since the Child Q scandal:“We wish these types of searches were not necessary, but sadly we know there are children in London being exploited to carry drugs and weapons for others, as well as being involved in criminality.”

You're wasting your time, people like Shabna have an agenda to sell for their employers, and they'll sell it no matter what.

He Was Breathing Just Fine, Though...

During the video, the teenage boy's mother can also be heard hysterically in the background shouting 'what the f*** have you done to my son?' She adds: 'Watch his asthma, his asthma, look he can't breathe, he's a child.'
...when he was getting into a ruck with neighbours and police.
West Midlands Police said they were originally called to a 'neighbour dispute' and the boy was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an officer, and criminal damage. Officers said 'several residents' had been arguing and there were 'allegations of physical violence'.

That's Hull for you!

"Please Ignore Your Experience And Evidence Of Your Own Eyes..."

Greater Manchester police will not be sending letters to individuals banning them from attending Manchester’s Caribbean carnival this year after a legal challenge. GMP was accused of using “deeply racist” tactics last year after it issued a number of letters banning dozens of people from a Caribbean carnival event because they had been identified as “either a member of a street gang, affiliated to a street gang” or “perceived by others to be associated to a street gang”.

Apparantly, noticing the frequency with which members of a cultural group feature in certain crimes - and acting on it, as their victims are usually from the same cultural group - is 'deeply racist' now.

On 24 May 2023, the organisation Kids of Colour, supported by Liberty, sent a letter to GMP and Manchester city council (MCC), raising concerns that the bans were discriminatory. They alleged that a disproportionate number of black people and other people of colour were targeted.

Well, it wouldn't make much sense to ban people from other cultural groups just to even up the numbers, would it? But hey, I guess we can't be allowed to draw any conclusions about what we see daily in front of us, can we?

YouTube and Twitch personality Kai Cenat is in police custody after a riot broke out in New York City's Union Square during an unlicensed scheduled giveaway of Playstation 5s. The NYPD arrested 65 people, 30 of whom were juveniles, during the Friday afternoon chaos in Manhattan.
Shocking photos and videos show thousands of people gathered, with some fighting and others throwing fire extinguishers at each other in downtown Manhattan.

And in case you're wondering, Reader, why I'm not linking to the 'Guardian's' story, for the symmetry, well, it's because it's unaccountably missing from their page...

Gosh! Memory holed so quickly these days...

At The Risk Of Sounding Like Mick Dundee...

"That's not a tragedy..."
A 17-year-old boy was killed and three others were injured in a horror crash after a police chase ended in tragedy. The teenager died after the car smashed into a tree just before midnight on July, 21 near Bosty Lane in Aldridge, near the junction with Daw End, in Walsall.
"...this is a tragedy."
A man has been left seriously injured after a car smashed through the wall of his house and ended up in his living room. The terrifying incident took place on Friday evening, with dramatic pictures showing a white Vauxhall Corsa burrowed inside the front room.

Frankly, the more of these idiots that slam into a tree (Sorry, tree!) and kill themselves, instead of injuring innocent members of the public, the better.

Damned If They Do... Pt 4721588

A police spokesman said: “Kent Police was called to a report from a member of the public that several people had been seen in an alleyway near Fremlin Walk, Maidstone, who appeared to be in possession of a firearm, described as black handgun.
“Officers, including firearms officers, attended the area and three teenage boys were arrested in Week Street.“
A number of items were seized, including three black imitation handguns. The suspects were later bailed pending further investigation.”
Hurrah! Police doing what we pay them for! Good job, la...

Oh.
...the force came under fire from some passersby who claimed they were “heavy handed” and over the top.

WTAF...!?

Trevor Galloway, 56, witnessed the event and said: “They got the teenagers to get down onto the ground, hands on their head and obviously there were armed police there with big, semi-auto guns I think, walking around.
“It went on for a while. It was kind of obvious there was nothing serious happening.
“After a couple of minutes you could see teenagers being compliant and doing what they were told but they didn't ease up at all.”
“The teenagers were well dressed and seemed eloquent. They seemed normal and not street urchins, they seemed respectable. It didn't seem right.
“Passersby were shouting at them that they were kids and the public weren't worried at all. Nobody was really impressed with how the police handled it.
“I thought it was bit odd. To me it's wrong, I know they've got to cover all bases but they should have figured out quicker nothing was going on.”

But something was going on, wasn't it? Enough that someone called the cops. If they hadn't turned up, would you be complaining about that instead?

The Balance Of Power...

Pointy head intellectuals:
Dr Fred Cram, the director of the Cardiff centre for crime, law and justice at Cardiff University, said it was difficult to think of scenarios in which police chasing children without helmets could be justified.
Dr Mike Harrison, a lecturer in criminology at Swansea University, said: “I see this as yet another unfortunate situation where young, marginalised people that ride these bikes are being unfairly targeted. It is probably wise to suspend this practice [of chasing young people on e-bikes] until there is some kind of review.”
Real people whose lives are blighted:
Community leaders in Cardiff and Salford said a blanket ban on police chases of children on bikes was difficult because gangs already use them to run tasks – and would do this even more if they knew they definitely would not be pursued.
Mike McCusker, the lead member for transport on Labour-controlled Salford city council, said reckless use of powerful e-bikes was creating a “wild west” situation in some areas.
The police are damned if they do, damned if they don’t,” he said, adding that better regulation and control was needed to take high-speed bikes off the streets.

Who will win out? I think we know, don't we, Reader...

I'd Argue 'Justice' Is Exactly What You've Got...

Two police officers who followed two teenage boys on an electric bike shortly before it was involved in a fatal crash, sparking a riot in Cardiff, have been served gross misconduct notices.

This is an utter outrage. I'm not in favour of striking, but if every cop in the station where these two are based downs truncheons and walks out, I'll cheer them on...

Family members welcomed the move by the IOPC but said they still feared they might not get justice for the boys.
One member of Harvey’s family said: “If they [the officers] had not done what they did, the boys would be at home with us now. We’re happy they have been served these notices but worried that it could get blown out of the water, that there could be a cover-up. We want justice for the families.”

What about 'if they [the children] had not done what they did..'? Or if, god forbid, their parents had instilled in them some self respect and discipline?

But then, judging the area by this response, there's precious little of that to go around...

Earlier this month, South Wales police said 20 people – 17 males and three females aged between 14 and 36 – had been arrested in connection with the riot.
An open letter signed by more than 50 organisations and individuals including academics and campaigners and organised by the Cardiff Solidarity Group has called for an amnesty for them.
It says: “The unrest seen in Ely was an understandable emotional reaction to a tragedy that may or may not have been directly caused by the actions of South Wales police.”

Truly, an area/community gets the policing it deserves. So, let's see them get it. Good and hard.

"'...you would think with all those people they would be able to manage it without tying her down.'"

Spoken like someone who has absolutely no experience of dealing with someone in the throes of dementia. Lucky person...

The Met police had been called to the block of flats on May 9 following disruption between the woman and her carer.

Presumably she got aggressive or violent and the carer either wasn't trained to cope, or it was so bad she had no other choice but to call police.

The elderly woman, described as thin and small, is said to have panicked and began ranting at police. She also threw cups of coffee at officers, the paper reported. She was later handcuffed with a hood chucked over her head...

Being spat on is utterly disgusting, whether it's an urban yoof resisting arrest, or a demented woman. Should the police have just put up with it?

Former Met commander John O'Connor said that the treatment of the old woman by the officers was 'beyond comprehension' and said it should have been dealt with my (sic) medical professionals 'who knew what they were doing'.

Excellent answer, John! Now, do tell me the number police should call to get these 'medical professionals' to come out and deal with it instead?

John...?

You've gone a bit quiet, John. Is it because you know that no such team or service currently exists?

I wonder if you were paid for your time shitting on your former colleagues, Maybe instead of answering the questions, you should have asked a few, instead?

Like who else, other than police, existed to take this role on when the carer called for help?

Or why a 91 year old with florid dementia wasn't in a care home (I can guess - they are expensive, and councils would rather not spend the money if they can get away with not spending it)?

Fight Of The Century, Ladies And Gentlemen!

In the red corner, the Race Card:

Tyran Forrest, a builder and driver from Stockwood, south Bristol, claimed some of the children – but not Antwon – were throwing mudballs at passing boats including one being paddled by the woman, who works for a car dealership.
What followed allegedly involved some pushing and shouting and ended up with Antwon being struck by the woman with a paddle, and, as Tyran Forrest said: “My son was standing there, blood pouring down his face.”
Asked why he thought Antwon rather than his white friends had been hit, Tyran Forrest said: “It seems a bit suspicious that she went for him. People can look at it how they want.”

In the blue corner, the Pussy Pass:

On 14 April a letter arrived telling the family: “The case has been reviewed and unfortunately the decision has been made to take no further action.”
It continued: “The main reason is that during interview the suspect raised a possibility for self-defence. By this we mean that the suspect admitted pushing Antwon and when pushing him she had the paddle in her hand and this contacted with his head. The suspect claimed she pushed Antwon away because he challenged her and she felt threatened by him and the surrounding group.”

Well, this is going to be interesting! We want a fair fight, no hitting below the be...

Oh, too late!

Patricia Daley, of Black Protest Legal Support, had called for the police to look again at the case.
The ex-boxer Ashley Theophane wrote that he was not surprised by the police response.
In a statement, Avon and Somerset police said the incident was taken seriously and a woman was arrested and interviewed. It added: “A realistic prospect of a conviction was not made out from the available evidence following the investigation. Since becoming aware of the injured boy’s family’s concerns through social media, officers have been in touch with them and initiated a review.
“This review will be carried out by an experienced detective sergeant, with oversight from a senior officer. It is being monitored by the office of the police and crime commissioner and the intention is to identify appropriate independent scrutiny so that our communities can have confidence in the outcome.”
The Guardian attempted to contact the woman through her workplace but received no reply.

One to watch...

Update: And as if by magic:

On Tuesday the force said it was treating the incident as racially motivated and appealed for more witnesses.

Looks like the Race Card has scored a knockout. Can the Pussy Pass get up off the canvas? Place your bets!

What Was He Supposed To Use, Harsh Language?

A Metropolitan Police officer who tasered a 10-year-old girl 'threatening a woman with garden shears and a hammer' at her home should face gross misconduct proceedings, a watchdog has ruled.
Scotland Yard's own review cleared the police officer of wrongdoing over the incident in January last year, with the force saying four days later that 'no misconduct was identified'.

Well, no, indeed. What else was he supposed to use? Belting her with an ASP would likely have done more damage...

'Our investigation into this matter has concluded and we have found a Metropolitan Police Service officer has a case to answer for gross misconduct in relation to the tasering of a 10-year-old girl,' a spokeswoman for the IOPC told the broadcaster. It is believed that the schoolgirl is the youngest person in the UK to have been hit with a taser, that deploys 50,000 volts to its target.

I think they forgot to add 'So far'...

The Met Police told Sky News that the watchdog's ruling was in relation to the officer's use of force against the girl, and that a misconduct hearing would be held on a date that will be confirmed later.

What's changed?

Details of the shocking events were reported in March last year after a complaint was passed to the IOPC by the girl's family.

*speechless*

Oh, I Think We Can...

A family tribute was read at the start of the inquest by Mr Smith's sister, Lorna Webley, describing him as a 'very bright, talented and creative individual' famed for his 'sharp' dress sense, and as a man 'forever altering his own clothes'.
Ms Webley said the death was 'beyond comprehension', adding 'Trevor's life mattered and he did not deserve to lose it in this way.
'One early Friday morning, someone took my brother's life in three seconds.
'At this moment, we cannot explain the proper reason for any good cause for his death.'
He threatened his ex-partner with an imitation handgun and when police came to arrest him, giving him every chance to surrender, he acted like an idiot. Case closed.

There, saved a lot of time.

Perhaps Stevenage Should Twin With Tehran?

A police officer Tasered an 'old' shoplifter twice before leaving him a bloodied mess by 'stamping' on his back yesterday.
Hertfordshire Police said he was treated for a 'minor cut' and later discharged with no serious injuries. The force added that 'a physical altercation occurred and the man reportedly took the PC’s body worn video camera and damaged it by throwing it to the floor'.
The man was arrested on suspicion of assault on a police officer and criminal damage. He remains in custody.

Cue predictable outrage from passers by:

Mr Symonds, a car transporter, called the response 'disgusting'. He said: 'The bloke clearly wasn't a strong old man. There was no active violence from him whatsoever.'

He was clearly failing to obey their instructions and they'd already tried PAVA spray - should they have waded in with batons instead?

Or...there's another option:

The footage, taken at an unknown location in Tehran, shows the woman - with her head exposed - being wrangled by security officers into the side of a van.
One female officer, who is fully veiled, can be seen grabbing the woman's hair while another holds her arm and a third drags her using what appears to be a dog snare.
The woman is then bundled into the van, hitting her head against the roof in the process, before the door is shut and the vehicle moves away.

It'll be a bit hard to put them on the utility belt, but who could object?

We're Going To Run Out Of Promising Footballers At This Rate!

The fatal crash occurred as Pc Paul Summerson, 44, pursued former youth footballer Lewis Johnson, 18, and his pillion passenger Louis Kyriacou, 18, through Stoke Newington on the morning of February 9 2016.

Five years ago...?

The court heard police believed that Mr Johnson and Mr Kyriacou were involved in a "smash and grab" theft in the area.

Ah, well, if they'd stopped and explained themselves, he'd still be alive now...

As he fled from the police car, Mr Johnson also drove in between traffic and even on to a footpath, the jury heard. Summerson's BMW had its flashing lights and a siren on during the pursuit, the court was told.

No excuses. That the cop is being prosecuted for this is inexcusable.

The chase moved from Stoke Newington through Stamford Hill and on to Clapton Common road, where it caused a panel van to move out of the way, Mr Sandiford told the court.
But the court heard the van drove directly into the path of Mr Johnson's vehicle and collided with it, causing the moped to spin into a pole on the side of the road - killing Mr Johnson and seriously injuring his passenger.

All I have to say on this 'tragic event'

The Police Bear No Responsibility For This Savagery...

Greater Manchester police have referred themselves to the police watchdog over the death of a 16-year-old boy.

Did he die in custody? Was he run down in the street by a 999 call responder?

Rhamero West was discovered in Old Trafford, Manchester, on 9 September with stab wounds.
The student was taken to hospital from the scene in Norton Street but died shortly afterwards.

Oh....

Rhamero, known as Mero, from south Manchester, was killed after he attended his first day at college where he was studying catering. His family paid tribute and described him as a “beautiful soul”.

Yes, they always are, aren't they? But why should the police need to refer themselves to the IOPC?

The Independent Office for Public Conduct (IOPC) confirmed it had received a referral from GMP “due to the fact officers had contact with a 16-year-old boy prior to his death”.

Hmmm...

According to Greater Manchester Police, detectives investigating his death have been piecing together a number of incidents that occurred prior to his death, including multiple collisions and violent disorder around the Princess Road area of South Manchester.

Translation: gang violence.

He was stabbed following a pursuit involving two vehicles which is understood to have begun a mile away in the Moss Side area of the city. He is believed to have been fleeing his pursuers along with three friends in a BMW, only for it to crash.

Only for them to lose control of the vehicle, you mean?

Can The IOPC Bring In A Verdict Of 'You Brought It On Yourself'..?

The Metropolitan police has referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct over an incident where an older black man was hospitalised after officers pulled over his vehicle in south London.

Oh..? Did they savagely assault a pensioner then, for no reason?

The 70-year-old driver was stopped by traffic officers in Bromley over a broken brake light on Monday afternoon.
The man allegedly struggled with an officer after getting out of his car, leaving the officer with an eye injury.

Ah. More the other way round.

But what could possibly cause an elderly man to go tonto when the police stop him to point out a defect in his vehicle? I'd be greatful to have this pointed out, thank them, and call the garage to get it fixed.

Wouldn't anyone?

The caption on the post, which has been liked more than 100,000 times and generated more than 5,000 comments, reads: “Today these police men beat up my dad in the Shortlands/Bromley area as they said he posed immediate threat towards them. This incident escalated because the police men pulled my dad due to one of his lights not working which he was not aware of.
“My dad is born-and-bred Jamaican whose accent is very strong and isn’t afraid to say what he feels about the @metpolice_uk and their corrupt racist system as my dad made hand gestures telling them to leave him alone they felt it was now their duty to physically abuse him.”

Case closed, I think!
