Well, It IS Ireland, maybe they dom't bother over there if the cause of death is so blindingly obvious...

A seven-year-old boy is among four seriously injured people in hospital after a crash in County Kildare in which five teenagers were killed while driving the wrong way down a motorway. Two women are in a critical condition, while another woman and the boy are in a serious condition after the head-on crash. It's believed the injured family - two women aged in their 30s and one in her 20s, and the young boy - were travelling to the airport to go on holiday.

And this wasn't a case of teenagers driving like that because they got confused as some elderly drivers do, or were being cgased by police - it was deliberate. 

The five teenagers have been named locally as Joe Carthy from Athy, County Kildare, Alex McCarthy from Carlow, Kamil Pustkowski from Limerick, Jeremy O'Brien and Jack Kennedy, according to Irish broadcaster RTÉ News.

Taoiseach (Irish Prime Minister) Micheál Martin said his thoughts and prayers were with the injured and the death of the five teenage boys brought untold grief.

Social media immediatly gave the lie to that, wirh many people quite happy that these hooligans had deleted themselves from the world, being notorious as thorough nuisances in their town, and the sympathy went to the innocent victims who were just trying to get away on holiday. 

Garda Commissioner Justin Kelly described it as a "horrific incident" and "irresponsible and dangerous driving". "What makes this reckless behaviour even more appalling is that in some cases it is being done for social media likes regardless of the potentially devastating impact it might have on innocent people and themselves."

Ireland's Minister for Justice Jim O'Callaghan said on Monday that he condemned "in the strongest possible terms" the "reckless criminal behaviour". "I also want to emphasise that anyone who makes the decision to drive a vehicle deliberately the wrong way down a motorway is engaged in lethally dangerous behaviour and it must stop," O'Callaghan said.

But why would they stop, whrn the police are powerless - or unwilling - to stop them, and they lack the brainpower to realise the consequences of a crash ayyspeed? 

Nemesis Will Not Be Thwarted So Easily...

A British teenager who was jailed in Dubai after having sex with a UK tourist has been killed in a car crash - just months after being set free following a royal pardon.

This is the kid that all the hsnd-wringers and of course the 'black community' demanded be spared punishment from breaking the law in a foreign country. And he came back and, having learned nothing, ended his short life breaking it here.

Missing the addition of 'So he can die breaking the law over here!' 

Marcus Fakana, 19, died in Tottenham, north London, at around 1am on Friday after a car he was passenger in failed to stop when being blue-lighted by the Metropolitan Police. Officers say they 'temporarily lost sight of the vehicle' after tailing it for around 60 seconds, before discovering its involvement in a huge smash with another car at The Roundway.

They aren't saying the car was stolen, which is realy the sole surprising thing about this incident.  

Marcus was left seriously injured as a result of the crash and received first aid treatment at the scene, but he died shortly after being rushed to hospital. The driver, a man also aged 19, was arrested after the crash on suspicion of failure to stop and dangerous driving. He remains in police custody.

No doubt there will be people demanding he too face no punishment like Marcus. But sometimes, Nemesis takes a hand when civilisation fails. 

Oh Well, Shit Happens....

 That's the sort of verdict we need coroners to be able to bring in for cases like this one:

A man fleeing from police was electrocuted and then hit by a London Underground train which was searching for him, his inquest has heard. Senior coroner Andrew Walker said Transport for London's (TfL) response was "inadequate" after Robert English, 32, was killed in May 2024 when he was walking along the track near Colindale station in north London following reports of a fight. TfL staff had initially turned off the power supply but then restored it after police mistakenly believed Mr English had climbed over a fence that separated the station from a park, the inquest heard.

So they called off the search and normal service resumed... 

A Tube train that had been held stationary then began to search the track and ran him over.

Oh well. The current had got him first, anyway.

Mr Walker said that the train "was not adequately equipped to conduct such a search in darkness and this response was inadequate".

What did it lack, exactly? Headlights? 

The police watchdog ruled in June 2024 that an investigation was not required.

Appropriately, for once. 

This'll Be A Quick One For The IOPC!

A man shot and seriously injured by armed police outside a rural village pub was wielding a chainsaw and holding what officers believed was a homemade bomb, a watchdog has said.

The man, described as being in his 30s, was initially visited by unarmed police at a property opposite the pub at approximately 7.15pm due to an 'outstanding warrant' against him - but refused to come out.

No, Reader, it wasn’t for a parking offence- it was for assault. 

The man then ignored two warning baton rounds and refused to put down the chainsaw, at which point he was shot by an armed officer with a conventional firearm.

What else were they supposed to use, harsh language? 

Despite the presence of an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team, complete with a remote-controlled robot, Kent Police said that the case 'was not related to any terrorism offences'.

eEven though no doubt the bystanders would have been pretty terrified!  

Eddie Powell, chairman of Harrietsham Parish Council, said locals has been stunned by the incident which was 'completely out of character' for the village.'This is completely out of character for around here.

It's the sort of thing you'd expect to happen in Oxford Street or Pall Mall.'

Or any other square on the Monopoly Board? 

His half-brother Liam O'Meara told The Telegraph he believes officers used unnecessary force and O'Meara has "mental health problems". 

The 44-year-old added: "The police could have shot him in his leg. They could have Tasered him, couldn't they? The bullet's gone straight in and out, so it has not caused many problems."

Liam told The Telegraph: 'When he was shot, most of the damage was when he dropped the chainsaw and it fell on him.

If he thinks the police should take chances in these situations, mental illness ()or fatal stupidity) clearly runs in the family!  

He Was Determined To Keep That Appointment In Samarra...

A homeless man who was taken to a park by police to prevent him getting in a fight, was later 'stabbed by a teenager' with a broken vodka bottle, a court has heard. Milton Hurlington, 42, was dropped off at a park in Wembley, north London, on the evening of July 17 2023, by police, in the hope that he would stay out of trouble. Officers had been called twice that day to pick him up, following his aggressive behaviour towards a bus driver, and at a Lidl supermarket, the Old Bailey heard.

And he continued with the aggressive behaviour, but met someone equally antisocial.  

But after being left at King Edward VII park, Mr Hurlington allegedly verbally abused a group of young men. One of them allegedly smashed the victim's alcohol bottle then chased and fatally stabbed him in the right armpit, jurors were told. Wael Farroukh, 19, from Wembley, has denied Mr Hurlington's murder and having an offensive weapon.

NHI. 

So Open, Their Brains Have Fallen Out...

A police spokesman said they were 'keeping an open mind' as to whether the two incidents were linked.

Gosh, what are the odds? 

Derbyshire Constabulary confirmed officers had been called to reports of a burglary at the remote Peak District farmhouse at 3.30pm on Tuesday. They attended the property, on a remote country lane, in Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire, and launched an investigation.That was ongoing when reports came in of the second raid at the farmhouse less than ten hours later, at around 1.20am the following day.

Obviously the felon's network was working overtime... 

Yesterday the farmer arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder was named by locals as Rob Lomas, a 50-year-old divorcee. They said his alleged victim was a talented 19-year-old footballer called Marcus Smith.

He's not a 'victim' of anything. The poor sod arrested for defending his property is the only true victim here.  

Police found Mr Smith with fatal injuries inside Mosley Hall Farm and another teenager with a gunshot wound seriously hurt on the road outside. A former pupil at Chapel-en-le-Frith High School, Mr Smith played for Chapel Town FC. Yesterday his 51-year-old mother Kerry, who is understood to work as a nurse, posted a picture of herself with her son on her Facebook page. It prompted comments from friends expressing their heartbreak and sympathy. One wrote: 'We are so shocked and so heartbroken, nothing can express how deeply sorry we are.'

No sympathy for the man who is now behind bars for having no option, I note. 

The public aren't behind you on this. They are behind the real victim. 

The fundraiser has already raised more than £16,000 of £10,000 target, with more than 600 people donating.

I wonder how much a fundraiser for the dead burglar would raise? 

Sounds Like, For Once, It Went Right!

Neighbours said the incident appeared to have been a 'burglary that went wrong.'

A woman, who lives close the farm, said: 'The farm is in a remote location, quite deep in the valley and set back from the main road.

'I suspect it was an opportunistic burglary that has gone wrong.'

One thieving scumbag dead, another (hopefully) injured severely enough to give up a life of crime. A better result for society than the justice system provides.

Chief Superintendent Dave Kirby, of Derbyshire police, said he believed the incident was a 'targeted attack' and there was no wider risk to the public.

'Residents in the area will see an increased police presence in the area for some time as investigations continue and we will provide further updates as soon as we are able.'

Perhaps if you'd had that presence beforehand this wouldn't have happened. 

It's Still Not Long Enough...

Well, the guilty verdict was no surprise, although you never can really tell these days...

A woman has been jailed for 11 years for killing a couple who were ‘twerking’ in the backseat of her car moments before it crashed. Adele Ojokie Aidonojie, 23, had been drinking alcohol and driving at nearly double the speed limit when she crashed her convertible Mini Cooper in Battersea, South London.

And the families of the victims are somewhat lacking in IQ points too: 

Following the verdict, the victims’ families expressed anger and sadness at the defendant’s behaviour. Ms Macharia’s mother said she had a ‘special bond’ with her daughter who was ‘one in a million’. She also disputed the defendant’s claim that the two were ‘best friends’, and said the pair had met just once before.

Probably should have sat down and put on a seatbelt then? 

Mr Boutjettif’s family described how he had stepped up at the age of 16 after the death of his father, going to college and training to become a gas engineer.

‘He was a very caring person who had love for everyone he met,’ they said.

But contempt for road safety laws? 

No, Ignoring Them Does...

Bah, who is Senegalese, was targeted by prosecutors because he had been picked from among the passengers to steer the boat. As prosecutors noted, members of the people-smuggling gangs do not ordinarily put themselves in harm’s way to steer boats; on Bah’s evidence, he was forced into it.

So what? I daresay getaway drivers could claim the same thing, it wouldn't protect them. He was still attempting to enter the UK illegally. 

It is for that reason that some campaigners see Bah, now 20, not as responsible for the deaths of four people but as a victim of people smugglers, whose business model is sustained by the government’s refusal to open safe and legal routes.

Ah, yes, these people have no choice because they want something they can't have. So the obvious solution is to let them have it! Well, it seems to be the policy for shoplifters these days too... 

Bah is just the latest small boat pilot to be prosecuted under powers expanded in 2022.

Let's hope not the last! But who could possibly object to this policy?  

Fizza Qureshi, the chief executive of Migrants’ Rights Network, said: “People are being forced into those boats and, instead of them being dealt with as victims – someone who’s been essentially trafficked to the UK, they’re seen as a criminal.”

They are criminals.  

Julia Tinsley-Kent, the group’s spokesperson, said: “When you look at the Home Office’s comms generally around migration, it’s just really vile. And the way they talk about these ‘victories’, what they’re doing is horrendous.”

No, what they are doing - and it's vanishingly rare these days that they do it - is their job, carrying out the will of the British public, who don't want their country overrun by more economic migrants breaking our laws to come here. 

After the verdict on Monday, Captain Support UK – a solidarity platform for those accused of piloting boats to Europe – said Bah’s conviction was a “violent escalation in the persecution of migrants to ‘stop the boats’”.

Good! Bring it on, more of it and more often.  

Yeah, It Doesn't Work Like That...

That's the mother of a total waste of oxygen who has sadly managed to reproduce before his demise.

In a pen portrait, the teenager's mother Suzanne said she had attended hospital in Durham with Mr Bainbridge and his partner for a scan, and her son was 'ecstatic' to find out she was having a boy.

But not so ecstatic he went straight... 

Senior assistant coroner Crispin Oliver told a jury that the inquest, which could take three weeks to complete, will consider issues including Mr Bainbridge's interaction with the police in the months before his death, the decision taken to pursue his vehicle and risk assessments during the pursuit.

Three weeks?!? What a waste of public money. 

His father Troy Bainbridge said in his pen portrait that Kelvin had not needed to die that day and that he should have served a jail term, and could have gone on to make something of his life. He said: 'I know this could have and should have ended differently, and he should be with us right now.'

If you'd raised him to be law abiding. he probably would be.

A 17-year-old boy was killed and three others were injured in a horror crash after a police chase ended in tragedy. The teenager died after the car smashed into a tree just before midnight on July, 21 near Bosty Lane in Aldridge, near the junction with Daw End, in Walsall.

"...this is a tragedy."

A man has been left seriously injured after a car smashed through the wall of his house and ended up in his living room. The terrifying incident took place on Friday evening, with dramatic pictures showing a white Vauxhall Corsa burrowed inside the front room.

Frankly, the more of these idiots that slam into a tree (Sorry, tree!) and kill themselves, instead of injuring innocent members of the public, the better. 

Grinding Really, Really Slowly Again...

A man who armed himself with a knife has been jailed for his role in an incident which led to an 18-year-old being fatally stabbed in Old Leigh.

No, no, not a recent one at all.

Flynn Symonds, 33, has been standing trial at Basildon Crown Court over his involvement in the incident on February 26, 2021, which ended with the death of Luke Bellfield.

This week Symonds has been convicted by a jury of violent disorder, having a bladed article, and having an offensive weapon. He was jailed for two years following his conviction.

If that seems a low sentence, well...

“CCTV shows Luke Bellfield leading the chase with a machete-style knife. He is stabbed and the other two men keep chasing Alfie Pollard.”

Lovely family. Innit?

In a statement, Suella Braverman said: “I have accepted Michael Lockwood’s resignation as director general of the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).

“I took immediate action upon being made aware that Mr Lockwood was the subject of a police investigation into an historic allegation, and instructed my officials to ask him to resign or face immediate suspension from his role.

“Home Office staff are working at pace with the IOPC’s unitary board to put in place temporary arrangements for the organisation’s leadership.”

Nice to know they can move quickly when they want to, eh? 

Pull The Other One, Love...

Catering student Rhamero had just completed his first day at college when he was attacked.

In an emotional statement, Ms Brown said: “To the court, my boy is just a statistic – another case – but to me this is real life and my beautiful fun-loving, caring, respectable boy who loved his family.

“Rhamero is our youngest son aged 16 and had his whole life ahead of him with so many goals he wanted to achieve. Goals that were taken away from him in such a cruel and horrific way.

“He was looking forward to his first day at college and he enjoyed even just his short time of space there. Rhamero was going to see his friends after college and he never made it home.

Addressing Richards – who can be named after reporting restrictions were lifted – she said: “Marquis, thank you for showing me who you are.

“The last day you got found guilty you did a cut-throat gesture and told me my son had been smoked. So all I can say is thank you for showing your true colours.”

He wasn't the only one who did that, was he, though, Ms. Brown..? 

Prosecutors were not able to outline a motive for the murder but said Rhamero was driving a stolen BMW when Richards approached from another stolen vehicle on Princess Parkway on the late afternoon of September 9 last year.

Oops! 

Richards wielded a knife at the driver’s window in stationary traffic before a high-speed pursuit followed in which Rhamero collided with another vehicle and hit a tree.

Following sentencing, Detective Chief Inspector Liz Hopkinson, of Greater Manchester Police, said: “These three caused carnage across south Manchester in the lead-up to Rhamero’s death and it’s a miracle that no members of the public were also injured as a result of their reckless driving and acts of violence.”

Just like it takes two to tango, Liz, it takes two vehicles to make a high speed chase. So your maths is a little off. As misplaced as Ms. Brown's tears for her budding criminal son...

Mr Amofa, 33, was stabbed repeatedly as the attackers, two wearing balaclavas, demanded his car keys in an alleged bid to steal £5,000 of cannabis they mistakenly thought was in the vehicle.

The prosecution suggested the attackers believed their targets had a large consignment of cannabis in the Mercedes after the drugs were advertised on social media.

*sighs* 

Judge Alexia Durran adjourned sentencing to a date to be fixed in June. A violent scuffle broke out in the dock as Owusu and McFoy were remanded into custody.

Why does that never seem to attract a longer sentence? 

I Wonder How This Behaviour Would Be Treated In The DRC..?

Lyoya had two young daughters and five siblings, said the governor Gretchen Whitmer, who spoke to his family.

“He arrived in the United States as a refugee with his family fleeing violence. He had his whole life ahead of him,” Whitmer said.

But rather than show gratitude for the opportunity, he chose...well, read on. 

The traffic stop was tense from the start. Video shows Lyoya, a native of the Democratic Republic of Congo, getting out of the car before the officer approached. He ordered Lyoya to get back in the vehicle but the man declined. The officer asked him if he spoke English and demanded his driver’s license. The foot chase began soon after, video shows.

In the DRC, they probably don't bother with all the fuss of an investigation of people who end up dead resisting arrest...

Mark Washington, the city manager, warned that the videos would lead to “expressions of shock, of anger and of pain”. Some downtown businesses boarded up their storefronts, and concrete barricades surrounded police headquarters.

Why? Because he's entirely the agent of his own misfortune. If you are granted refugee status, shouldn't the least your adopted country expect from you that you obey its laws..? 

A Stunning Loss To The Profession, I'm Sure...

A 23-year-old business law student who died after eating a suspected cannabis sweet has been pictured.

If you're imagining a young chap with spots and a waistcoat, well, errr, think again!

Damilola Olakanmi, from Ilford, east London, bought the 'gummies' through a messaging app and they were delivered to her home where she fell ill last Tuesday.

The Hertfordshire University student was rushed to Queen's Hospital, Romford, at around 11.30pm - but died on April 2.

Not a difficult investigation for the Met, this one: 

Leon Brown, 37, of South Norwood, was arrested on Friday in connection with the incident. He was charged with possession with intent to supply Class B synthetic cannabinoid, being concerned in the supply of a synthetic cannabinoid, and possession with intent to supply a psychoactive substance.

The Met said he was found in possession of a large quantity of cash and what were believed to be edible cannabis products.

Believed to be edible by the police, or by Leon's ever-shortening list of customers? 

Sympathy...Draining...Away....

More than 100 people were killed by an explosion in Freetown, Sierra Leone, last week, after a leaking fuel tanker collided with a lorry on a busy road in the capital city.

Oh dear, how sad.  

Many of those who died were young motorbike taxi drivers...

Wow, that must have been some traffic jam! 

...after dozens of riders rushed to the leaking tanker to collect free petrol and were caught in the blast.
