I Think He's Already Established His 'Level Of Dangerousness'...

This is the terrifying moment a record store owner keels over and almost dies in the street after an anaesthetic nurse jabs him with a deadly drug in a 'motiveless' attack. In shocking footage, Gary Lewis is shown sliding off a chair outside his shop, Betterdaze, before being helped into the recovery position by police officers. The video was taken shortly after he was injected with a dose of rocuronium by Darren Harris, 57, who has now been found guilty of attempted murder.

It's a pretty baffling crime, seemingly stemming from nothing. The defence tried a tactic of 'they had a falling out over selling some records' yet could produce no evidence this actually happened.  

Today, Harris's 79-year-old father Kenneth told MailOnline of his shock about his son's bizarre attack, saying: 'Whatever has happened is out of order, it's just not him.' He told of how Harris and his wife were looking forward to their retirement after his son had worked his way up to become an anaesthetic nurse from a hospital porter.

*boggle* 

Harris's stepmother and Kenneth's wife, Brenda Cahill, 79, says her daughter thinks he may have been having a psychotic episode when he carried out the attack.

Ya think!? But this was clearly well planned, not a spur of the moment episode of madness and loss of control.... 

Police bodycam also captures the moment Harris was arrested - and his shocking refusal to tell police what was in the syringe he used to attack Mr Lewis.

He should get longer for that alone. 

Harris, who was today convicted of attempted murder, ambushed his victim on July 2 in Northallerton after prowling outside Mr Lewis's shop. The jury at Leeds Crown Court took less than two hours to find him guilty of attempted murder.

Two hours? The tea and biscuits in the jury room must have been good... 

Sentencing was adjourned to assess Harris's level of 'dangerousness.'

Think that's pretty well established already. 

Pointless If They Can’t Be Traced By Registration Plates

New UK cycling laws being introduced this month introduce further penalties – but downgrade two existing offences. Ten offences to tackle antisocial cycling have been proposed – including offences relating to cycling behaviour in London's Royal Parks.

Only works if they get stopped at the time. If - as usual - they pedal off in the distance, what are you supposed to tell the police to enable them to be traced? 

'It was a fat arrogant man in lycra, officer!' 'OK, madam, and do you know how many of those there are in London?'  

What are the offences that are now deemed 'not as serious'?

However, these laws raise “serious concerns”, as two new offences are, in effect, being ‘downgraded’ – dangerous cycling and failing to stop at a school crossing patrol – which can now be dealt with by taking a 30-minute e-learning course through the National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme (NDORS) for a fee of £100, instead of cyclists’ receiving points on their driving record or a fine.

Well, that's doing a lot for safety...

A police chief as (sic) torn up a diversity guide that told officers to avoid saying 'blacklisted' and 'black sheep' in case it offended anyone.

Not really a 'police chief' though, just another political appointee... 

Hertfordshire's Police and Crime Commissioner Jonathan Ash-Edwards called the document 'virtue signalling' and said it would 'damage public trust and confidence in policing'. The nine-page diversity, equality and inclusion reference guide, published last year, was created by Bedfordshire Police and Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire constabularies.

 Wonder how many man-hours that took, that could have instead been spent on the beat?

It called on police officers to use gender neutral language such as 'pregnant person' rather than pregnant women while it advised against using 'Christian-centric' language such as 'faith'. Mr Ash-Edwards, who was elected into his role last May, said he and Hertfordshire Chief Constable Andy Prophet shared concerns over the guide and have now 'commissioned a review of all such documents'.

 So, why didn’t they do anything about it until now? What’s prompted a sudden outbreak of courage?

He demanded a return to 'common sense... when it comes to language' and told The Telegraph in a statement: 'Asking police officers and staff to use terms such as 'pregnant people' is unlikely to be seen as 'inclusive' by many women, for example.'

 Indeed, and yet, wasn’t that the case last year too?

Mr Ash-Edwards said from his experience of meeting residents from diverse communities 'many Asian residents are worried about family gold burglaries, our Jewish communities fear anti-Semitic hate crimes'.

'What I have yet to hear is a call for more virtue signalling,' he said.

Well, you’re very unlikely to, nor would you have last year when the wretched thing was published. But still, I suppose, more joy in heaven, and all that… 

The Next Mutt To Be Added To The Dangerous Dogs List?

Fincham appeared at Southend-on-Sea Magistrates' Court facing two counts of being in charge of a dangerously out-of-control dog on Wednesday. The 32-year-old pleaded guilty to the charges, which included a separate incident involving a woman occurring in Grays, Essex, in June 2024, although no injury was reported on that occasion. The former TOWIE regular was sentenced to six-weeks behind bars after the judge determined handing Fincham a further suspended sentence was not appropriate.

But of course, as a 'celebrity', despite pleading guilty, he still doesn't want to accept the consequences: 

But the former pen salesman has since appealed his prison sentence and has been granted bail pending its outcome.

And it's not an XL Bully for a change: 

As Fincham walks free on bail after the dog attack trial, neighbours living on the same road as his family home have described the large Cane Corso as 'scary', whilst revealing they had not seen the disgraced dog owner for some time.

Hopefully, if he loses the appeal, they won't see him again for a while... 

One neighbour, who did not wish to be named, said: 'I'm a bit nervous of dogs anyway, but it is a scary looking dog.' 

'He's quite an intimidating looking dog.'

'I was always quite glad I was at the other end of the road because it's quite a boisterous dog,' the neighbour continued, quipping how it was a dog breed that you would be nervous to have 'around children'.

'It's a fair sized dog I would say and it was the appearance was not very nice,' they added. Another neighbour, who is also a dog owner, said: 'He looks like a fighting dog, a bully faced dog - Elvis I think.'

It's the next breed we'll start hearing about, as all the pitnutters and morons move on from the XL Bully...

It was only after New York Magazine that Neil Gaiman issued his first public denial, called “Breaking the Silence” and repeated his position, one he had indirectly communicated to Tortoise, that he had “never engaged in unconsensual sex with anyone. Ever.”But that denial has not prevented Dark Horse Comics being the latest one of his publishers, streamers, or other platforms from dropping the author. In a post on X, Dark Horse Comics this week said: “Dark Horse takes seriously the allegations against Neil Gaiman and we are no longer publishing his works.”

The new Ten Minutes Hate - driven by social media pile-ons and requiring no 'evidence' beyond an accusation. And now the person responsible for bringing the accusation to light is all ‘not me, guv, my hands are clean!’

The point of me “breaking my silence” now here is to say that the blanket cancellation of Neil Gaiman was not my intention when I first heard Scarlett’s story, then the voices of four more females you hear in Master.

It might not have been, but you cannot possibly claim you weren't aware of the likely effect, can you?

A former US government adviser who flew to the UK to rape who he believed to be a nine-year-old child has been jailed, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has said. Rahamim Shy, 47, travelled to Bedfordshire from New York in February last year to have sex with the girl after more than a month of planning involving messages with an individual posing as a woman called “Debbie”, the girl’s grandmother.

Gosh, the US government employing predatory peadophiles? No doubt the 'Guardian' and other left-wing press will be all over this as another sign of Trump's unsuitability for the j... 

Unbeknown to Shy, who previously worked as a senior adviser for Pakistan and Afghanistan during the Obama administration, Debbie was in fact an undercover Bedfordshire police officer and the child did not exist.

Oh. Maybe not, then!  

Shy, an international investment banker, flew from the US to Gatwick Airport on February 23 2024 before driving to Bedford where he met the undercover officer and was arrested.

He should have been shyer. 

He was sentenced to 11 years and six months in prison on Wednesday.

Why can't he serve it in a US prison? A much less comfortable one than he'll get over here....

The alleged assailant had apparently brought a blade into school on Granville Road last week, according to one furious parent.

On January 29, All Saints had also gone into a 'lock down', they said. A parent said: 'I've been told it's the same lad who caused the lock down last Wednesday who has now killed the schoolboy today.

'How can the school have allowed this to happen today when only five days ago the danger was known about?'

Quite easily, I'd imagine, since the culprit has already been named - and pictured - on social media and his name and face mark him out as part of that vibrant diversity Labour and the Tories were so keen to rub all our noses in. But what of the police? Over to a DEI hire in sensible shoes and a mannish haircut:

Most of the laws that prohibit the creation and distribution of child sexual abuse imagery have been in place since the 1990s. Back then, Photoshop was in its infancy. The physical photographs that paedophiles shared were no less vile, but they were easier for the police to seize and destroy. Since then, technology has completely changed the way these people operate, making it possible to create and distribute horrifyingly life-like images and videos of children in seconds.

Yes, 'life-like'. It's not real. But maybe there are cases of real harm. Give us a 'for instance', will you?

A 15-year-old girl rang the NSPCC recently. An online stranger had edited photos from her social media to make fake nude images. The images showed her face and, in the background, you could see her bedroom. The girl was terrified that someone would send them to her parents and, worse still, the pictures were so convincing that she was scared her parents wouldn’t believe that they were fake.

And will this go down as 'a sexual assault of a child' in official government figures? I bet it will. Making the figures utterly worthless, since no-one's actually been assaulted. 

That is why we are taking urgent action through a raft of new offences that will finally close the legal loopholes that paedophiles are exploiting to ruin young lives. If you are found in possession of a “paedophile manual”, you will now face years in jail. For the first time, we’ll imprison the people who are making the AI models that generate child sexual abuse material. Those who run or moderate websites where paedophiles share advice on how to groom children and avoid detection will spend a decade behind bars.

And where are you going to build all the extra jail space that will be needed, since they are actually at bursting point? Or will you simply let out genuine abusers to put away people getting naughty with pixels? 

If It's Too Early To Lay Blame, It's Surely Too Early To 'Console'...

After the Challenger space shuttle disaster, Ronald Reagan ended an Oval Office address with the consoling thought that its crew had slipped the surly bonds of earth to touch the face of God. Successors such as Bill Clinton, Barack Obama and Joe Biden also shone in the crucial US presidential role of consoler-in-chief.

But that was then, this is now. And that’s why a ‘Guardian’ columnist is speaking favourably of ol’ Ronnie.

How would Donald Trump fare in his first test since returning to the White House?

You just know he's itching to write his foregone conclusion, no matter what, don't you? After all, this is a 'Guardian' column.  

In grave, mellow tones, Trump did the things that heads of state are supposed to do, acknowledging an “hour of anguish” for the nation, paying tribute to emergency rescue workers and offering solace that the victims’s journey ended in “the warm embrace of a loving God”.

But...but... 

Did he leave it there, channeling the sombre mood, fading with dignity into the background and handing over to experts who know what they are talking about? Are you kidding? This is Trump. He went on, ominously revealing that he had “strong opinions” on the collision (never mind the facts). With aggression creeping into his voice, Trump pivoted to an all-out attack on his Democratic predecessors and blame the accident on policies of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

But if it's too early to lay blame, isn't it also too early to 'reassure' the nation? And after all, didn't NASA incompetence and carelessness cause the deaths of those astronauts?

Do we know that the policy of DEI didn't play a part? After all, the helo wasn't following the flight plan it was supposed to. The ATC didn't notice this. No-one did anything to prevent the collision.

Trump claimed Obama had pushed “mediocre” standards for air traffic controllers, a job that requires “superior intelligence”, but Trump had raised them during his first term. “When I left office and Biden took over, he changed them back to lower than ever before.”

And indeed, there's a class action lawsuit ongoing regarding these wretched Biden era standards that focussed on everything but competence at the job. 

Last week Trump signed an executive order restoring his standards. He explained: “We have to have our smartest people. It doesn’t matter what they look like, how they speak, who they are. It matters intellect, talent – the word talent, you have to be talented, naturally talented genius. You can’t have regular people doing that job.” It’s almost as if you need a master race.

If you want to stop aircraft parts raining from the sky on a regular basis, maybe you do....
